It hadn't been long since Alpha James sent some men to kidnap Elaine and they failed. He still went ahead to instill fear in her by sending his threats to her through a letter.
Elaine found a letter in her bag after she got back from the mall, she opened it and read.
"My dear Elaine,
The past few years haven't been the same without you, I miss having you breathless underneath as I make love to you.
You may have a mate now but that doesn't change the fact that you belong to me and you will always be mine.
How long do you think your mate will protect you, how much time do you think you have before I forcefully take you back from him, I promise to make sure he is dead when I seize you from him so that you wound have to go through so much pain if yearning for him.
If you don't want him to be dead then you can choose a much simpler decision, come back to me and I will spare your mate's life but if you don't then I swear to you that I will kill him with my bare hands and burn his lifeless body"
After Elaine finished reading the letter, she dropped to the ground in fear, she could feel her life being threatened just after reading it.
If Alpha James could see her now then he would be smiling over her reaction, Elaine acted weak as she held unto the chair tightly to pick her up.
She could only think about the things Alpha James did to her on the past and she was carried away in fear.
"Breath Elaine" her wolf told her.
She tried to do as she said but she was troubled, the thought of having her mate Arthur killed by Alpha James and also being taken back to him was making her think the worst of what might actually happen to her.
She couldn't bear to go through such pain, those cold nights she cried herself to sleep, those times he used her body like she was an object of pleasure to him, he had raped her and used her at whatever time he wanted.
As she remembered those things she felt suffocated and couldn't breath properly,
"Elaine you are going to pass out if you continue like this, breathe Elaine" her wolf instructed worried for her.
Elaine was more occupied by her thoughts as she slipped from her chair to the ground once again, she panted and gasped for air, she coughed out loudly and her throat was burning.
"Elaine" Beta Arthur saw her and immediately ran to her,
"Breathe Elaine" he ordered but she couldn't.
He lifted her head up and kissed her, when he let her go she began breathing normally.
"How did you know?" She asked wondering how a kiss from him could make breath properly.
"Each time I kiss you, you hold your breath" he answered.
A letter on the table with a royal seal on it caught his attention, he picked it up and read it, once he was done his eyes darkened.
"I have had enough of this bastard" he vented out his anger.
He could point out that Elaine had gone into a panic attack after she read the letter.
"What more does he want from you after he had made your life miserable in the past" he said recalling her cruel past.
Alpha James was to blame for the cruel life his mate had to live, he had tortured her right from a young age turning her into his sex slave causing her to fear him so much. Elaine was a mess because of him and it pained him to hear about her horrible past, They had both thought that Alpha James was dead but now that he was back into their lives, he wouldn't let Elaine rest one bit.
"I can't go back to him" Elaine stated, she would rather die than to give herself to another round of torture and trauma which was what was waiting for her with Alpha James.
"Don't worry, I won't let him take you" Arthur comforted her, he pulled her into a hug making her feel better, if he hadn't come earlier then she would have passed out on the ground.
"Please, I cannot go back to him" she let out terrified, Alpha James was doing everything he could to get to her and his plan was working, Elaine wasn't that shaken up when she was kidnapped by those men but after reading the letter, her fears increased and she was more bothered about it than ever.
"No one would give you to him, I will never let you suffer in his hands again" He answered patting her head.
Arthur had come to the final decision that it was time to get rid of Alpha James, he didn't want his mate to continue living in fear because of him. He had promised her a free life and Alpha James was a threat to that and he needed to be taken out.
"Just wait for me in the room, I need to speak with the Alpha" he instructed her.
"No, please don't tell the Alpha" she stopped him,
"Why?" Arthur asked startled, telling the Alpha meant they could take immediate action about Alpha James.
"I don't want to bother him about things concerning me, he already has a mate to be bothered about, I can't add to that" she said not wanting to be the reason Alpha Coast attention was divided.
"I can handle Alpha James myself but I need the permission of the Alpha to do that, he won't get mad because you are my mate and I am his Beta" he reasoned with her.
"Not yet, if you tell him then he would rage war on the pack like he had promised James, I am not ready to face him yet, I haven't even learnt how to fight better and the mere calling of his name makes me shiver" she answered.
Just now Elaine had panicked because she got a letter from Alpha James, this only proved that she was still afraid of him and couldn't actually face him just yet. Her fear of him got the better of her and she wanted to address that first before facing him.
"You can stay at home while we attack the pack?" He suggested.
If she was still scared of him then it was better to go there with the warriors and leave her behind.
"No, I want to be there, I want to see him bleed to death, only then would I have peace and be able to live freely.
I am just saying that you should give me a few days to train myself to face him, I have to face my demons right" she convinced him.
Beta Arthur was startled by the sudden spark of confidence, a second ago she had almost passed out because of a letter and now she wanted to face Alpha James fair and squarely, he couldn't be more proud of her.
"Sure, I can help you train more okay" he stated encouraging her more, he was surprised that he didn't have to say much for her to confront Alpha James, he guessed she was just tired of being in fear of him all the time because of what he did to her in the past.
He picked up the letter about to tear it to pieces when he suddenly stopped, he needed evidence to show to Alpha Coast that Elaine was being pestered by James.
He stuffed it in his pocket and took her back to the room to rest her head,
"Arthur, do you think you can kill Alpha James" she asked worried about what might happen to him if he didn't.
"Do you doubt me?" Beta Arthur asked s but hurt by her question, he had saved her several times for her to know that he was capable of protecting her.
"No, never.
I was scared about what might happen, I can't bear the thought of losing you to him, he is so cruel and mean and doesn't care about others" she said from experience of how brutal he was when he was in his brother's pack.
"I can handle it" he replied frowning.
Elaine swiftly noticed he was angry about it and immediately hugged him,
"I'm sorry, I trust very well that you can handle him.
You have shown me more than twice" she stated easing his anger.
