Sortie, Angel of Death Chapter 14

Sitting in the tree watching the moon raise to it heights with Willow. I could hear some fighting in the distance as I let the chill sooth my burning skin. When Willow disappeared below the trees I could feel the fur under my skin dig into the under neath of my flesh. Hoping down from higher branches to lower I continued my way following my leaders. As I was nearing 20 feet from the ground my body snapped.

“URGGGGH!” My sight sharpened as I look towards the ground. Noticing my paws, I decided to slide down the remainder of the trunk. Willow sitting across from where I landed her eyes glistened with laughter. “Stop laughing mutt,” I howled.

“You really thought you would not change tonight?” Willow mumbled.

“Why would my body change on it’s own accord? That is just stupid.”

“Well, how else do you feel? Hungry?”

“Yes.”

“Follow me then,” Willow stated before booking it threw the trees towards the west.

“Are we not going after Shorty?”

“No, tonight would be unsafe for you around her with how many supers are running around. Remember where the tree is located?”

“Yes.”

“Alright when you are in trouble imagine it before leaving. If we get separated go right there. Use magic when need be but do not rely on nymph magic on the full moons.”

“Why is the full moons not good for nymph magic?”

“The full moons come once every three months and last three days during these days the Lycan magic will grow powerful. Some how been known for destroying hordes of vampires on these nights by themselves. So, your main powers will be Lycan magic tonight use nymph magic in emergencies only.”

“Wait,” I yell as I stopped running. “Are you telling me Shorty is weaker then lycanthropes these days? Why is she alone then? We have to go to her!”

“Listen young wolf, she is not a normal vampire. She will be weaker then normal but she is smart and still capable to hold her own. If the pack is too much of a problem she will call for help. Trust her.”

“When are vampire’s most powerful?” I ask as we continue on Willow’s path.

“The new moons and all super’s are powerful during eclipses.”

“How about Nymphs?”

“During the colored moons. Blue moon being the highest for water nymphs. I smell a horde coming be on alert.”

“How many?”

Sniff, sniff, sniff; “I smell five how about you?”

Inhale, “I smell four death bodies. Why are they here when it is so dangerous?”

“They live here they will be in the trees on these nights.”

“Is this why you brought me to this direction?”

“Yes. I figured you would prefer blood suckers for your first meal rather than moon bathers.”

“Thank you, I guess.”

“Yell out to them, they are in the branches.”

“BLOOD SUCKERS! COME OUT AND PLAY.” My voice vibrates the trunks as it wraps the trees. Willow decided it was time to lay down in the shadows, I am guess that is her way of informing me she will not interfere. Sitting down I waited for a while before getting bored from their silence. “BROTHER TREE PLEASE GIVE ME A PLAY MATE.” The trees started to shake uncontrollably after I asked. I could hear hisses as the blooders began to fall from branch to branch. When they landed on their butts in front of me I gave the two a massive, toothy grin. Rage filled their eyes as they stood in unison.

“Little wolf with out a pack?” one sneered.

“Must be lonely being alone,” the second scoffed.

“I think we could have some use for this earth user,” first one smirked at the second.

“Actually, ladies I have some use for you,”I say before pouncing on the bigger of the two.

“WE ARE MEN YOU FOOL!” they both screamed as I landed my jump. Both started to attack me as once. They kept trying to bite my neck, with ease I was able to move through their legs. Everything felt in slow motion as I round around them to use a trunk of a birch in my attack. When I leapt off landing on the two of them I quickly ripped the throat of the smaller one out. The blood was bitter as the flesh coated my tongue. The liquid seeped down my throat landing in my stomach like a rock. I grabbed the thigh of the one running from moment of shock. The blood filled my mouth as he fell flat on his face hissing. The bitter taste started to turn like a lemon. Slashing my canines through his jugular my lips started to perk as my mouth watered. I last all control of my body as it ripped and shredded the two into pieces until body were scattered around me. I looked up to notice a few eyes looking at me. Horror fled through the glazes as my stomach roar from the hunger that still was not satisfied.

“Come down,” my raspy voice come out in a seductive manor that surprised even myself. When they never came down I decided to climb the tree myself. Using a running start I bounced up the limbs as I saw Willow do earlier in the night. I reached the first one and with ease chomped on her throat before throwing her body over for later. Then continued up until I reach the last one. He was stronger then the three I already ended but I was pretty happy with my odds. Trying to climb higher until he turned to me rushing my body. I jumped on the branch right before his grasp could touch me. I lunged at his falling body. When my body hit his, I felt my skin being pierced. When the pain hit my running adrenaline my mind was blocked my nature and I ripped his heart from his chest as we landing to the ground. I continued to devour the remainder the bodies until I realized dawn as broke and I was back on the big tree asleep in human form completely covered in blood.

A shiver over took my body as the images of last night flooded my being. My stomach turned sour as I started to heave until I could not hold myself together any longer. I slide down the trunk running my steps through the soft morning dew ground. The forest covered me as my knees sunk and my hand held my torso from the ground. My muscles clenched as my stomach rolled. My mouth open and my body emptied every thing it could possibly hold. I fell onto my back looking at the bright blue sky as my blood pounded through my mind.

Closing my eyes I could see the bright moon of last night. The white shine glistened on the blood covered bones. My body started shivering uncontrollably. Soft sounds of someone stepping towards my directions made my mind wish for that person to kill me. My heart felt hollow as my mind flashed the vampire’s broken body in front of me. Tears covered my ears as my body could not bare the feeling of what I did. The steps stopped short of my laying lump of monster.

“C. J., Sortie will be back to the tree before long. You need to go back,” Willow’s voice sounded the same as always but my nerves felt on edge.

“Why?” I begged her as my eyes locked her. “Why would you allow me to do this? You watched it, yet you view me no different?”

“You were always a monster.”

“So, you always saw me as this?” I sobbed as my hand flew over my body to make a point.

“A monster is a monster, it makes no difference to me which form you choose to be in the skin is just a mask you hide with in.”

“You view Shorty like this too?”

“Yes.”

“Do we not disgust you?”

“Why would you?” The words she said were honest but the part in me that thought she was a great companion shattered by the distant look and the now obvious hollow sweet tone she has always used. My body started to vibrate and scream in pain as my throat closed in dryness before the tears dripped through my closed lids. With out another word Willow walked away. I did not care to know which direction she went. I sobbed there for a while with the pain of how much I could do while in that frenzy.

I understood why Shorty hated our kind now. If that was a human instead of a super could I have kept this part of peace in the depths of my heart? How could I not known this was inside of me? What do Nymphs do that makes them abominations? Do I really want to know? ‘Ugh, I feel ill again.’ Heavier footsteps sounded in the peaceful morning. My body became weak from my mental state, so I failed in trying to pin point the direction. ‘If they will kill me, maybe that will be best.’

“If you came to kill me, whomever you are; please do. I am nothing more than a monster,” I whimpered out to the emptiness I sunk into without a care of who it may be or how they will destroy me. “I deserve pain, large amount. Please end my life any way you feel fit.” I laid still waiting for something to happen, anything honestly. No sound came out. No movement was heard as I held my breath. Sitting up quickly, I open my eyes to look around before I felt a heavy knock on the back of my head. The blow hit low on my skull with a thick branch. “OWWWW,” I screamed as my hand jumped behind to land on my hair. I turn my head to see who hit me.

“I will kill you after you suffer,” a voice whispered out to me.
