Sortie, Angel of Death Chapter 3

“HOWWWWWWWWWWWLLLL”

The blur landed on me with a loud howl. Sighing deeply as my back made contact with the soft blades of grass. Smiling up at my attacker with sharp pearly whites. Rolling on to the top before I sprinted in a circular motion around my prey. With a grumble of a growl coming from the once blur as it attempts to move. Letting out a low chuckle as I close in before my opposition could get back on their feet. Jumping on top of Willow I start scratching her ears.

“I smelt food Serenity.”

“Of course I picked up some for you. Rabbit for some protein, because you are getting too thin girl.”

“Rabbit! YES!” Willow’s howl joined her tail’s victorious wagging motion. I dig in my bag and pull out a carrot the bunnies had brought. Handing it over to Willow with her eyes beaming with pure excitement. “I’ll go bring wood, then dig out a hole.” Willow chomped on her carrot as she informed me of her plan. I nodded as I headed back towards my truck. The walk was teaming with life as fur balls skittered across my path, each one greeting me with a ‘good morning’. Birds above my head sang of morning hunts and mating searches. A few snakes hissed a ‘good day’ before slithering as far away from me as possible. When I reached my truck the sliver glowed with the early morning’s brilliant sun. Grabbing my black leather gloves and matching coat I started putting them on. As I zipped my thick jacket up my eyes searched the cab for it. Smiling as my eyes finally land on it I reach my quickly gather my bandanna, folding it in half I place it covering my forehead. Putting 100 proof sunblock on my face, ears, and neck. Lastly, I place my black lenses on before heading back to find my beautiful mutt.

In the Distance

I watch as the brunette vampire play with her familiar as they wait for their meal to finish, then eat. I sit on this branch the entire time the sun played with the clouds. When the sky start tinting pink the will-of-the-wisp came next to me waiting for my acknowledgment. I kept my eyes trained on the two in the distance.

“What are you bringing them to see now?” I ask the spirit.

“Wolves” they whistled out, “hunt.” I nodded my beak in reply before stretching my blood red wings out. After a thorough shake of my feathers I take off towards the setting sun.

Back with Willow

Willow and I snap our head in the direction of which screams and howling are coming. Willow starts to growl deeply lowering her body down. Adjusting my jaw as my fangs start to became prevalent. A scream breaks through the meadow before I can remove my sun gear I raced towards it. As I reached the tree line something body bounces off of me as the glow of eyes stop around us. As the eyes encircle us I hear Willow sneaking up behind the ones aiming at my back. I feel a hand grabbing hold of my leg with extreme strongth as a whimper shakes out of their food.

“Lycanthrope!” I boom over the pack which the confusion seemed from their useless minds. I look around and see no movement, so I growled “Where is your stupid ‘Alpha’”. A sneer rang as understanding came over the pack of morons. In front of me the pack opened to reveal a huge timber wolf. The humanoid pack knelt to this monstrosity.

“You called?” The wolf opened his mouth talking as drool dripped from his muzzle. “What do you want vampire!” At this snarl I felt the eyes look up at me, so I opened mouth smiled while running my tongue to my large canine. A soft poof alerted the wolves that their prey was unconscious at my feet. “Now why did you do that? What will we hunt now?” The lycanthrope said with a grumble. One of the werewolves stepped up sniffing the air.

“Food!” his eyes gleamed in the direction of Willow. I growled and jumped on their ‘alpha’. With a loud howl his legs gave way to my weight earning me the attention of every wolves around. Without even thinking I reached my hands in the air as two torus’ drop in my grip. I smile with an evil glint shimmering through. This action as the pack sounding like hyenas with a case of hysterics after a moment of silence.

“Stupid blood sucker, WE can not die from a gunshot.” Earning the mutt under me another wave of laughter. I wink down at him causing him to pause. Willow howled once she made her way to the rock with the unconscious body. The noise caused every sound to stop and all eyes to look. Cracking my neck I summoned the wind to wall them in. “Air, huh!” the big fur ball growled. Throwing my left hand’s gun into the air I steadied my right and shot the first round in the heads of twelve werewolves before flipping it to the stars. Seconds after the weight left I felt the similar weight of the fully loaded one settle perfectly. Without pausing a trained my sights on the next twelve ugly mugs in front of me. Before the Lycanthrope could shake me off as he struggled to lift his body up I grasped my left hand on the first gun’s handle. I pounced onto a tree on the west side of this pathetic little pack.

“Will you listen know?” I taunted him while dangling my feet off the branch I settled on.

“You just killed all of my PACK,” his roar shook the leaves.

“Ah, ah, ah” I chided, “lets look around shall we?” I pointed at the black veined faces of the pack members he once ran. Then I pointed at to the cowardly three behind the trunks of this forest. Taking off my gloves and shoving them in the zipper pockets as my coat. “You see, I do not believe a group of four can be considered a pack. Though I never have asked.” His growl boomed through the woods as his body shimmered back to humanoid form.

“Come down here and fight!” His voice scared some local flying creatures away. I just smiled as I finished strapping my twins in their matching leg holsters.

“Well you see, I don’t have any more silver bullets on me.” I sighed as if I was disturbed by this information earning myself a wolfish grin from the lycanthrope. Hiding my smirk as I looked to the moon.

“Come down little girl,” snarls the once timber image.

Yawn. “Ok, but after I take a quick nap.”

“NOW,” howled the ‘pack’ from the ground.

“Fine, fine,” I stated flatly was I pretended to stretch. When my elbows pointed up and hands pulled out the two silver stakes I kept in the rim of my coat. Once my hands firmly grabbed hold of the slick metal I quickly pulled them start towards the two mutts in the back. I released them suddenly. The stream of silver slid through the air pinning the heads of two humanoid wolves to the oaks. Black veins start to crawl down their necks and black oozed from the crushed skulls. Both wolves left roared in pain and snapped in my direction. Back flipping off the branch, I pounced on the trunk of one of the soiled trees. Grabbing hold of my stake I skipped to the next.

The wolves jumped in the air aiming themselves towards me. I yanked the stake free with a twist. Turning in time to see the werewolf’s teeth coming to my face. I quickly crossed my arms and slid them along the other pointing the silver towards the neck of this humanoid wolf. Slitting the flesh from flesh I felt the splatter of blood cover my face. Looking in his eyes as they started to close and his body wobbled before his knees buckled and fell back. The human shape of the lycanthrope’s eyes widen in fear and anger as he watched.

“YOU...YOU...YYYYOOOOUUUU!” He howled with the unmistakable sound of pain vibrating through out his body.

“Look here wolfy,” I started with a subtle hint of anger. “I am going to kill you, however; you desired to know how it feels. This right now it the most misery you can feel soak it up for it will be the last thing you will feel.”

Without waiting for the response he wanted to bark back at me, I ran towards him at full speed. His body began to shimmer back to a wolf’s as he snapped at me. His teeth dug deep into my forearm reaching to the bones. Yelling as I ripped it out of his grip and pulling it behind me. Feeling my blood drip down to my once gloved hand. Biting back my snarl as the pain blazed through every nerve. Tightening my hold on the stake I circle around the wolf in a primitive dance that leads to a show of the top predator. I stopped short of a full circle. Snarling at me showing his full teeth, I returned the favor showing my fangs.

“Why do,” before the wolf could finish his sentence I charged throwing him in front of me. With a grunt and a couple cracking sounds I smashed his back into the bark of a close tree. The wave of pain causing him to retract all his fur. On the smooth skin of the base of his neck I sink my teeth in. Digging both stakes at that exact moment into his shoulders, holding his torso in place. I began to drain every ounce of blood from his veins. After completing his blooding I ripped my teeth through his Adam's apple, yanking his throat from where it once hid.

Running my hands down my face before shaking the blood free from my tips. Walking away from the mess of flesh covered bones, I crept forward through the trees finding a small stream to rinse the blood off. Laying on the stony water way for a while before shaking off the drop. My hair whipped around before clinging to my face as it settled. Raking my fingers through it as I began to head back to where Willow would be waiting.

As the pasture laid out for my eyes I saw Willow’s tail bouncing from side to side, while her eyes watched my movements forward. Since she stood on the rock I assumed the lump beside her was the wolves prey. An arm wrapped around Willow as it’s shoulder turned to point to the moon. Willow froze with eyes wide. I couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped my lips, earning a glare from Willow. As I reached the rock, a distinct smell hit me by full force. I snarled loudly as I pounced on top of the rock holding one stake over the head that’s eyes popped wide open.

“Who are you,” I hissed.

“Whoa, please don’t kill me,” tears glistened the edges of the man’s eyes.

“What are you?”

“Human. What do you mean what are you?” The look in his eyes glared at me as if I had grown two heads.

“Listen here you smell like those abominations.” I pointed towards the woods I had just left. The moon started to glow through his cinnamon hair, highlighting every red tint. I squinted my eyes as I bore into his black pupils. “Listen here, I do not know what you are but am positive I am going to have to kill you.”

“Please doooon’t. I ddddddon’t want tooo ddddie.” He stuttered. I yanked the man to his feet as I jumped back.

“Kid, you’ll need to shut up now.”

“I’m not a kid, I’m older then you!”

“Keep telling yourself that,” I mummer as I face Will. “Thought’s?”

“I do not smell any beast we’ve hunted. I smell human on him, nice human.” She wagged her tail as she stared dreamily at him. Rolling my eyes at her display of complete distaste. Locking eyes at the man in question as his eyes widen in horror. “What?”

“Who are you talking too?”

“Willow,” I pointed to the weimaraner mix on the rock staring at him.

“YEAH, your normal,” he squeaked while trying to back away from us.

“Yup, that’s what you should do. Insult the person you just saved you from a pack. That makes sense. Not like I couldn’t drain your blood in seconds.” I rolled my eyes and turned my head back to Willow. “Seriously, I’m going to kill him.”

“Don’t let him go, I think we should keep him. His heart rate speeds every time he looks at you.” She paused as her head tilts at his direction. “Awe, he’s running.”

“WHAT!” I bolted after him.
