Lucia POV.
I make my way upstairs, to my room and to the bathroom. I need a shower. I turn on the shower and strip myself. I stand up, set the shower and relax as the cold water hits my body.
Today has been a complete disaster.
Everything I built all my life is falling apart. My friendship, my relationship with my brother, and my life. Damon ruined my life and he came back to do it again. I don't know if I can do this anymore.
I wrap my towel around me and get out of the bathroom and into my bedroom. I pick my pajamas and a t-shirt and put them on. I hear someone clear their throat. I turn around to see Damon.
"You sure don't know how to lock your door." He smirks and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. Realization hits me like a wrecking ball and heat creeps to my cheeks. Why am I blushing?
“Don't you have manners?" I scold.
"Nothing I didn't see before." He smiles
"Shut up.” I smile too. What's happening to me? "What do you want?"
“We are going to get married next Sunday." He says out of the blues.
"What?" I exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, we are getting married next Sunday." He repeats. "And then we'll go back to London."
"That's not possible. My job, the kids' school? my life here?" I say.
"You'll resign from your job. I already enrolled the kids at the best school in London and you will have a life with me." He stresses the word me.
"Life with you? No, thanks." I say, sarcastically but I mean it.
"You have no choice." He snaps. "We'll go dress shopping tomorrow." He decides.
"I have work tomorrow." I say.
"We'll go after your work is done.” He says. "And my parents are coming tomorrow night." He finishes and leaves the room without waiting for my reply.
Juliette? Starvos? Maybe Wedding dress shopping with Alex? Oh damn! It's getting better and better.
Lucia's POV
I looked at myself in the mirror for the last time and sighed. Whatever I did, how much make-up I used, I couldn't cover the dark circles under my eyes.
Last night, I was turning and tossing. I couldn't sleep because I was and I'm still scared of getting married to Damon again. But like he said, I have no other option. I needed to do this for my kids, so that they won't be taken away from me. I thought as Damon entered the room.
"Yeah." I sighed.
We both made our way out of the room and Damon tried to place his hand on my back. I moved away from his touch and heard him sigh. His next move makes me jump. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
"You can't get away from me, love." He whispered in my ear sending shivers down my body. He removed his hand around me and walked out the front door. I felt the heat creep up my cheeks and suddenly I felt hot.
No!
"Emma? Evan? Time to go." I said.
"Coming mommy." I got their reply. Few seconds later they were both rushing downstairs. "We're ready." They sounded super excited.
I decided to take the kids with us so that I don't need to be alone with Damon. His recent actions scared me. He's being too close to me and the heat rises every time. There was always something like a magnetic pull in the air whenever he's around. So, I am not going to be alone with him.
I buckled the kids up in the back seat of the car and made my way towards the passenger seat. I got in and buckled myself.
Damon isn't in the car so I looked around In search of him. I spotted him by the brick wall, talking on the phone. His eyebrows were furrowed and just knew he was frustrated. He kept listening to the person on the other side.
And then he lifted his face, and his eyes met mine and I looked away immediately. Few seconds passed and Damon opened the door. He put on his seatbelt and started the engine.
"So guys, how was school today?" I started a conversation. Evan crossed his arms against his chest and Emma blushed. "What's going on?" I asked.
"Emma has a crush." Evan huffs and Emma blushed harder.
"What?" Damon exclaimed.
"Yes, daddy.” Evan said again.
"No. No. No boys until you're thirty, young lady." Damon warned and I laughed.
"You're talking as if she's going on her first date." I continued to laugh. The three of them just stared at me, with a smile on their faces.
"What?" I asked and they shook their heads. I shrugged letting it go. A few seconds past and Damon speaks.
"It's good to see you smile." Damon said, placing his hand on my thigh. A shiver ran up my spine and the hairs on my body all went up without my permission and I turned away.
We entered the camille la vie. Evan is in my arms while Emma is in Damon's. She couldn't stop talking to him about something and he kept smiling at her non stop. She looked around the shop and her face lit up when she saw wedding dresses.
"Wow, these are beautiful.” She clapped her hands with glee.
"I know. Let's pick one for your mom. Okay?" Damon asked Emma and Evan and they both nodded in excitement.
Two hours later, Damon was done with my dress selection. The dress was beautiful in its own way and when I tried it on, it fitted just perfectly on me. Damon's eyes roamed around my body for a few seconds before he realized that we were in public.
“What time is Juliette and Starvos coming?" I asked Damon when we returned to the car.
“Around ten thirty." He responded without looking at me and I gave a nod.
"Are we having guests, mommy?” Evan asked from the back seat.
"Yes." I replied and smiled at him. He loves having people around, yet gets so shy when there are lots of people around.
"They are your grandparents." Damon added.
"But we already have grandpa and grandma.” Emma asked, confused.
"Those are your mum's parents. These are my parents.” Damon explained and they both nodded their little heads.
By the time we reached home, it was already nine in the evening. I started to make dinner ignoring the pleads of Emma, Evan and Damon, who wanted a take out. The three of them literally pouted when I said no. It's funny as well as scary.
"Sir." The sound of someone Clearing their throat crossed my ears and I looked up to see Paul.
"Mom and dad are coming. Pick them up from the airport." Damon instructed him and Paul nodded his head.
"Anything else, sir?" He asked, but Damon shook his head. "Sir." With that, Paul left the room.
When I finished cooking, I arranged the table with all the dishes. I didn't do anything very special. Spring rolls for starters, chicken lasagna for main course and Ben and jerry's Chocolate ice cream for dessert’. That would be enough.
I made the kids eat the food and they fell asleep minutes later. Damon ate with them and was now sitting on the couch with his phone in his hands. He seemed both nervous and frustrated at the same time.
"Aren't you gonna have your dinner?" Damon asked as I cleaned the counter. His sudden presence made me jump.
"Not hungry." I replied, trying really hard to calm my racing heart.
"You should eat." He suggested.
"Don't tell me what to do." I snapped at him and he smiled, shaking his head.
We heard the car entering the driveway and he nodded his head towards me. We both made our way to the living room and as I opened the front door. Damon joined me. Julietta got out of the car and Starvos joined her. They both started to walk towards us and Julietta's eyes came on me.
They widened and then they were filled with tears. She practically ran to me and wrapped her arms around me tightly. "Oh darling. I've missed you so much." She cried.
"I've missed you too, Julietta." I said and realized that I had tears streaming down my cheeks too.
"It's been very long."
