I said nothing as I stared at the bouquet I held. “I already have a boyfriend, Kenneth. Do you see these beautiful flowers? It’s from him.”
“You lie!”
“No, I’m telling you the truth!”
“Only a day after we broke up?! Have you been cheating behind my back before we broke up?”
I couldn’t believe it! “It’s you who cheated behind my back before we broke up. Now, you accuse me of doing that? I’m not as low as you!”
“So, how come you can have a boyfriend in a day?”
“Well, just for your information, mister, someone thinks I’m desirable and attractive. He is serious with me. Yesterday, he met my mother too and told her his real intention to marry me.” I stared at Kenneth with an icy stare. “Although you didn’t think too highly of me, Ethan did.”
“He’s only after sex with you.”

“Really? Oh, right, you are frigid. You can’t satisfy a man in his bed.”
“You’re wrong! Ethan and I have already enjoyed beautiful moments together. But unlike you, he respects and cherishes me.”

I wanted to slap Kenneth because of his harsh words. My hands were itchy, but I took my breath. “Oh, I enjoy my intimate time with Ethan, and you’re mad?” I pointed my finger at him. “I slept with Ethan when I had no relationship with you! Unlike you!”
“Helena! If you didn’t deny me on your bed, I wouldn’t need Debbie.”
“So, it’s my fault now?” I laughed out loud, nearly hysterical. “Wow! You’re so great! You manipulate the situation, so you’re the only one who’s right, and I’m the wrong one.” I snickered as I shook my head. “Oh, wow! With whomever I sleep with, it’s not your business. Ethan is a great man who truly knows how to please me!”
“You are truly a tramp!”
“Then what are you? An unfaithful person? A liar? A wrong accuser?”
“Shut up!”
“We have nothing to discuss again. I’m leaving!” I walked to leave Kenneth.
That was when Kenneth grabbed my hand from behind. “I’m not done yet with you!”
“I have!”
“Since you have shared another man’s bed, I’ll be merciful. I’ll accept you back, and we can start again.” Kenneth grinned. “I don’t mind that your first time is with him, but I’ll make sure that we’ll enjoy more time in my bed.”
“In your dream! You may have short-term memory loss. Have you forgotten what happened?” I took a deep breath since I was agitated. “It was you who wanted to break up with me. It was you who cheated on me. Should I add more? You lied to me and slept with Debbie when I was still your girlfriend.”
“Yes! But it’s because I needed you to fulfill my needs, but you didn’t help me. Meanwhile, Debbie was available and pleased to do that.”
“Since you have already had Debbie, we have nothing to discuss.”
“Yes, we do! What about my parents’ coming?”
I shrugged. “It’s not my problem anymore. Who cares if your parents will come or not?”
“Helena, please! Be reasonable! Don’t you need money?”
“What?! I work to get money. I have never begged you. So, stop talking as if I desperately needed one!”
“But it’s a lot of money! All you need to do is come back to me. Before, I thought that pretending to be my girlfriend was good enough. But now, after knowing the latest situation, I’ll be glad to have you back. Helena? Please?”
“Have you truly had no shame? I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore. We are done!”
“Helena! Please, listen to me!”
“What else? I can’t and won’t come back to you. Nothing can change my mind.”
“Why not? Even a million Moon dollars?”
I took another deep breath. I honestly didn’t know how much longer I could stay calm without slapping or kicking Kenneth. “I don’t need money!”
“Really?”
“Yes! I can earn it.”
“Okay, you don’t want the money. It’s good! I love independent women. How about pleasures?” Kenneth grinned. “I guarantee I can give you satisfaction.”
I finally ran out of patience. “Since you keep bugging me, I’ll tell you this. Please don’t blame me since you insist! Ethan and I have engaged. He has asked for my hand in marriage.”
“Oh, you’re a bloody fool. I feel pity for you.” Kenneth shook his head and clicked his tongue. “For sure, he is an experienced man who manipulates naive girls like you.”

Meanwhile, I observed the whole thing and lost my temper when Kenneth insulted my Alpha. I immediately contacted my Alpha through the mind link. The mind link is a mind communication between werewolves, usually for a direct command line or mates. We can open the connection whenever we want and also close it. Yet, for mates, the mind link is even more potent than the direct command line.
‘Alpha, we have a situation here. Helena is in trouble. A punk keeps harassing her and, in the process, also insulting you. Should I give him a lesson?’
‘Is the punk’s name Kenneth?’
‘Yes.’
My Alpha took a deep breath. ‘Wait for me. Don’t do anything!’ Then he closed the mind link.
He approached me from behind so fast that I was too late to know he was coming.
“Alpha!”
Ethan placed his pointer finger to his lips. I nodded. We stayed on a tree, watching what happened down there. Helena defended our Alpha. I liked her for that.
“No! Ethan is a great man. He is so kind and protective of me. In fact, we have a strong connection.”
“Oh, yeah? Because he has taken your virginity?” Kenneth laughed out loud like a mad man. “Yeah, right! Keep dreaming, girl!”
“No, it’s because we are soulmates! Let me prove it to you.” Helena then touched her neck, right on the bite mark.
