Kenneth wanted to curse more, but he didn’t want to take any risk. “You’ll regret this, Helena! I swear you’ll crawl back at me. He’ll be bored with you in no time!”
That was when I lost my patience. Next, I walked a few long steps and punched Kenneth in his jaw. Kenneth immediately fell to the ground and passed out.
“Oh, my goodness!” Helena gasped as she ran next to me. “Did you kill him?”
“What?” I raised my eyebrows, disturbed by Helena’s worry for Kenneth. “Tell me honestly. Do you still love him?”
Helena hugged my waist and raised her head. “Of course not! The moment he betrayed me, he destroyed all my feelings for him.” She let out a long sigh. “I’m even skeptical now if I ever loved him.”
“Why?”
Helena blushed, tip-toed, and whispered, “Because I truly doubt I have ever loved someone other than you after I met you.”
I grinned, satisfied with Helena’s words. “Yes, love. It’s me who you should love. Since I’m your mate, not that scumbag over there.” I sneered at Kenneth. “But then, why are you so concerned about him?”
“I don’t want you in trouble to kill him. He’s not worth it.”
“Ah, my lovely mate, I’m so pleased with you.” Then I grinned. “I think it’s the time for me to collect my reward.”
“Oh, right! I promise you that. So, what do you want?”
I smiled from ear to ear. My mate was such an innocent girl. It was cute to see her like that. “You should already know.”
“What? I don’t know anything.”
“Are you sure?”
Helena nodded. Since I kept glancing at her with a hot stare, she licked her lips with her tongue as a reflex.
So, I growled. “You are an enchantress indeed.”
“What? I did nothing.”
I laughed and shook my head. “If only you could see yourself when your tongue licked your lips. It’s so erotic.”
Helena gasped and blushed at the same time. “Oh, no!”
“Oh, yes, my darling.” I hugged Helena. “Now, I want to collect my reward. But, as always, I only want one thing. You!”
“Oh!” Helena’s cheeks were crimson. “Then I have no objection at all.”
That was when Red approached Helena and me. “Alpha, it’s time to go home.”
I shook my head. “I’ll bring Helena to the villa. There will be time later for home.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
Then I glanced at Helena. “Love, it’s Red Sutton. He is my friend and my man. I asked him to take care of you when I leave.”
Helena smiled shyly at Red. “Thank you so much for your help, Mr. Sutton.”
Red only nodded. “Just Red. Don’t call me Mr. Sutton.”
“Okay, Red.”
Then Red left without saying anything.
“Did I say something wrong?”
“No, but Red and I have different perspectives about a few things. Yet, he is the best man and friend I have.” I stroked Helena’s hair. “You’ll get used to his attitude. Don’t worry. He’s a good and loyal man.”
“Okay.” Helena nodded.
I startled Helena by holding her body and lifting her into my embrace. Then I positioned her in the bridal style and carried her like that.
“What are you doing? People will stare!”
“Let them stare.”
Before Helena could protest more, I carried her for a walk. Then, after a moment, I kissed Helena’s lips to cover when I teleported us near my villa.
When I raised my head, I grinned. “We have arrived at our villa. It’s party time.”
“Oh, I don’t realize that your villa is close to the MPL.”
“MPL?”
“Moon Public Library, my workplace. Oh, I need to call Stacy first. She was waiting for me when Kenneth blocked me.”
Then Helena called Stacy first to apologize that she went home with me without telling her. Yet, Stacy didn’t mind that since she spotted me protecting Helena from Kenneth. So, Stacy went home earlier.
After that, Helena blew her breath. “It’s good now.”
I stroked her cheek. “It’s party time then. I want to open my gift and enjoy my reward now.”
Helena stared at me for a few seconds, then when she realized what I wanted to do with her, she blushed. “Oh, that party!”
“Yes, love, that party.” I grinned as I kept walking to the villa.
When I arrived at my room, I opened the door, went inside, closed the door, and locked it. Then I carried Helena to the bed, laid her down there, and started kissing her lips.
Helena took a deep breath since it overwhelmed her to see how passionate I was toward her. Then, when I started unbuttoning her shirt, Helena held my hands.
“Wait!”
“What? I’m hungry and thirsty for you, my darling.” I kissed Helena’s shoulder. “I miss you so much.”
“Have you finished your business yet? I thought you would take longer.”
I froze, then laid myself next to Helena. “No. Since you called me, I postponed it.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry!”
I hugged Helena to comfort her. “It’s okay. You need me just now, and you are my priority. I won’t let you down.”
Helena smiled as she snuggled her head on my chest. “Thank you.”
“But—” I deliberately stopped my word.
“But?”
“But I’m still waiting to open and enjoy my reward.”
Helena blushed and giggled at the same time. “Ah, you! I thought you had forgotten about that.”
“Not a chance, darling.”
Helena said nothing at first. But she held my hand as it started wandering to her body. “Ethan, I haven’t been ready yet to get pregnant.”
It startled me. “We can marry soon if that’s what you want. But in my world, marking you means you are my wife already.”
“Oh!”
“Mate, I want you now.”

“I promise I won’t make you pregnant, though I truly want to see your stomach round with our child.”
Helena blushed again. “I will love it,” she whispered, “Having our babies when the time comes will be wonderful.”
