Then I ended the conversation. Next, I contacted Red through the mind link.
‘Alpha, have you found the witch already?’
‘Not yet. But I’ll find the witch sooner or later.’
Maybe Red sensed something was wrong with me. So, he asked, ‘Alpha, what happened?’
‘It’s Luna. She wanted me to mate with her.’
‘You can reject her, you know. It’s better than the other option.’
‘I can’t, Red.’
‘Why not? Alpha, you don’t want to repeat what happened to Lynnette.’
‘Damn you, Red! I won’t repeat it, and I won’t let go of Helena either.’
‘Why not?’
I took a deep breath. ‘Because I love her.’
‘Alpha ….’
‘Since you haven’t met with your mate, you can say to reject my mate. Yet, it’ll kill me to see that I finally found my mate, only to let her go. I can’t do that! No, I won’t do that!’
‘But what will you do when Helena asks you to mate her? You are fortunate that she’s a human. If she’s a she-wolf, I can’t imagine how you will handle her in her heat.’
I let out a long sigh. ‘Maybe it’s why the Highest One chose Helena for me. Since if she were our kind, I would lose another mate again.’
Red said nothing. After a while, he asked, ‘What if Helena wanted to end the relationship?’
‘No way!’
‘It’s possible. Helena is human and weak. She can change her mind any time.’
‘Helena has told me that she will wait for me.’
‘You see how fast she set her heart from her ex-boyfriend to you,’ Red said.
‘Because her ex-boyfriend is a jerk.’ I sighed. ‘I need to continue my journey.’ Then I ended the mind link.

~ Helena ~
I received a call from an unknown number. I hesitated to pick it up. But then, who knew if it was an important call. So, finally, I picked up the call. “Hello?”.
“Helena? It’s Red Stutton, Ethan’s subordinate and friend.”
“Ah, yes, hello, Red. I don’t know if it’s your number.”
“Yes, uh, can we meet today?”
“Sure, after work. You know my workplace.”
“Okay. I’ll wait for you after work.”
Everything went well. Many visitors came today, so I didn’t have time to worry about anything. When it was time to go home, I talked with Stacy. “I have talked with Ethan. It turned out that he was truly thinking about me. He wanted the best for me.”
“Oh, wow! I feel jealous of you.”
I giggled. “I thought that maybe I wasn’t attractive enough for Ethan, or maybe he had another woman. Yet he told me that it wasn’t true. I’m glad.”
“What did he say?”
“He said that he wanted me to get used to him first. Also, he wanted to give time for me to heal after Kenneth.”
“It’s good that you have already had your answer. I think your Ethan is truly a great man.” Stacy took her bag. “So, what’s next?”
“I told him that I was ready. If he has finished with his business, I want to be truly his.”
“Are you ready to be a mother?”
“Yes. My mother has approved if I want to marry Ethan after three months of our relationship. So, if I get pregnant soon, I will marry him in three months.”
Stacy said nothing. After walking outside, she nodded to Sam. I also smiled at Sam. He waved to both of us and smiled, then walked inside to start locking the library.
“I don’t want to burst your happy bubble. Don’t rush things. If it means for you, it’ll be. Enjoy your relationship.”
“You’re right. But I don’t know why—” I placed my hand on my chest “—I feel that I need to consummate my relationship with Ethan soon.”
That was when Red walked in front of us. When Red met Stacy, he couldn’t set his eyes off her. The same happened with Stacy.
“Red, please meet Stacy. She is my friend and my co-worker. Stacy, it’s Red, Ethan’s friend and worker.”
Stacy blushed and offered her hand to Red which he soon shook and held too long than required.
“Stacy, beautiful name for a beautiful woman.”
“Red is a great name too.”
“Can I have your number? I’ll surely contact you.” Then Red blinked. “It’s if no one is offended by that.”
“Oh, sure! I have no boyfriend currently.” Stacy gave Red her card.
Red smiled, making his face handsome. “Great!” He pocketed Stacy’s card.
“So, Red, what do you want to talk about with me?”
Red stared at me with a regretful look. “Yes, I need to talk with you about an important matter.” Then he nodded to Stacy. “Sorry, but I need to bring Helena with me to talk. Yet, I assure you that I’ll call you. Is that okay?”
Stacy gave Red her sexiest smile. “Sure, Red. Don’t forget! I’ll wait for your call.”
Red reached out his hand and held Stacy’s hand. Then he kissed her hand while staring into her eyes. Then though both of them didn’t want to leave each other, finally, Stacy walked farther from Red and me.
I waited for Red to say what he wanted to say. Yet, Red was still fascinated by Stacy. He stared at Stacy while she was walking to the nearest bus stop.
“Red?”
As if he heard nothing, Red smiled since Stacy turned her body and blushed as she found out Red was still looking at her. Red even waved at Stacy. She winked one of her eyes and waved back.
“Earth’s calling Red. Hello?”
Then the smile faded from his face. “Sorry. Maybe we should sit since I need maybe ten to fifteen minutes.”
“Let’s go to the library’s garden then. Sam, our security guard, is still checking and locking the library. So, we can talk there.”
“Sure.”
We walked to the library’s garden. After being seated, I waited for Red. Yet, he didn’t say anything.
I cleared my throat, then asked, “So, what do you want to talk about with me, Red?”
