The Alpha King and I Chapter 43

Then Helena frowned. “How come you know his name? I haven’t told you yet.”

“When you were asleep, I called Freya so that she wouldn’t be worried about you. Freya then told me his name.”

“I see. I met Constantine because he saved me when Kenneth chased me.”

“Kenneth again?” I shook his head. The jerk might need a good lesson. His brain didn’t work well since he kept bothering Helena. “Before breaking more of his bones, maybe the guy won’t understand.”

“No, you don’t need to do it. Constantine has done it.”

“Ah, for that, I’m glad he did.” It’s funny, but I appreciated Constantine’s doing that since I wanted to do it myself. Kenneth deserved a whack on his head. “But I want you to promise me not to meet with him anymore.”

Helena shrugged. “Okay, no problem. Since it’s just a coincidence, also he said it was only one time I would have dinner with him.”

Yet, I wasn’t sure that it was a pure coincidence. When it came to Constantine, I didn’t believe it at all. I blew my breath and nodded. “Yes, it’s good that you know it’ll be the first and the last time you go with him. He was the one who drugged you last night. He’s a dangerous man. Stay away from him.”

Helena said nothing. Later, she smiled and hugged me instead. “Have I thanked you for coming? Last night, I didn’t think of it, but didn’t you from another city? How could you get to our city again so fast?”

I blinked. It is hard to explain that I am a unique ability werewolf who can teleport elsewhere. Though Crescent Island has covered in magic to cease teleport within the area, I could teleport myself to get out of the place since I wasn’t a threat by leaving the island. “What can I say?”

“I’ll listen and believe you, even if you mention a crazy thing like you can fly in the air.” Helena giggled as she stared at me. Then, since I had said nothing yet, she raised her eyebrows. “Well? Do you?”

“I think, for now, it’s enough to say that I have a special ability that no human possesses.”

“What? Can you fly?”

I smiled and shook my head. “No, but it involves the movement.” Is it a good time to tell Helena that I am a werewolf?

“So, who is my boyfriend? A superhero?”

I laughed and shook my head. “No, darling. I’m not a superhero.” At least, not in a term, she thought.

Helena hugged my waist and smiled. “To me, you are my superhero.”

I smiled too and brought Helena into my embrace. “I want to be one for you, only for you, my Helena.”

Then I kissed her lips softly and what first started as an innocent kiss quickly changed into a sensual one. Next, Helena opened my clothes, and I did the same for her.

Later, she kissed my body all over until I groaned. “Helena! Stop it!”

“You seem to like it the last time.” She pouted and blushed at the same time.

“I like it too much.”

Then I reversed our position and lay on top of her. I grinned and kissed her until she grabbed the bedsheet beneath her.

“Ethan, I’m ready.”

“Ready? For what?”

“Make me yours completely. I don’t want to wait anymore.”

I wouldn’t need to be asked twice if it were a normal situation. I didn’t even need to be asked. I would immediately mate Helena after marking her. However, I couldn’t do it because of the curse, not unless I wanted to see Helena die. So, I didn’t answer. Instead, I touched her and made her unable to hold her climax.

Then she pulled me. “Ethan, I’m your wife. So, why didn’t you want to consummate our relationship?”

“It’s complicated.” If only you knew, Helena.

“What do you mean?”

“I can’t tell you about it now, Helena. Please trust me.”

Helena shook her head. She pushed my chest, and then she started wearing her clothes. “I’m leaving. You don’t need to send me home.”

“Helena, please don’t be like this!”

“What?! You don’t want me! What am I supposed to do about it?”

“Don’t want you?” I moved swiftly and caught Helena’s hand. I brought her hand to my already tense shaft again. “Is this the sign that I don’t want you?”

“Then why didn’t you take me? Why didn’t you perfect our marriage by joining our bodies?” Helena shook her head. “I’m a virgin, but I’m no longer a fool.”

“Helena, it’s for our goodness.”

“Why? Is it something to do with your mate before me?”

I froze to hear that. Helena bit her lower lip and refused to meet my eyes.

“It’s Red, isn’t it? He’s the one who told you.”

She shook her head. “The person only wanted to help. I shouldn’t mention it. I’m sorry.” Helena took a deep breath. “So, is it about her? Is it because of her death, and you still can’t move on from her?”

I groaned. “No!”

“So? Do you still love her and can’t forget her? Does mating me feel like a mistake? Do your guilty feelings eat you alive?”

“Damn it, Helena!”

“Ethan, please! Tell me! I need to know!” Helena started crying. “If you still can’t get over her, at least you can tell me. I have the right to know. I’m your mate now!”

“It isn’t so simple! I wish I could tell you!” But, the curse, I couldn’t tell her that. I preferred to say to her when I had broken the curse later.

“Try me! I’m not that fragile!”

I shook my head and hugged Helena tightly.

“E-Ethan, it’s too tight!”

I released her a little, then kissed her forehead repeatedly. “Helena, please, my darling. I only want to protect you.” I didn’t want to hurt her since I protected her from letting her not know about the curse.

“But from what? How can I be calm knowing my mate doesn’t want me?”

“It’s not that I don’t want you. But, Helena, oh, my goodness, if I could, I would mate you from the moment I marked you. I can’t!”

“Why?
