The bet that changed everything Chapter 19

/Samantha/

He gestured toward the chairs that were located by the window and said, "Ok, Samantha bear, wait over there."

He came up to the counter and had a brief conversation with the desk clerk. During the conversation, he animatedly gestured to me while talking pretty animatedly, but I couldn't hear what he was saying because I was too far away. Henry remained there in quiet waiting for about a minute after that before the desk clerk gave him a shake of her head and picked up her phone. After waiting for a few more minutes, a plainclothes police officer came out, spoke to Henry, and shook his hand. Henry then turned his head in my way, and he and the other officer started going up to where I was standing.

As they got closer, I stood to greet them. "Miss Thomas, we're ready to take your witness statement now, Mr. Williams has consented to be your adult," he continued, indicating a door that I wasn't even aware was behind me. "Mr. Williams has consented to be your adult." After we walked in and took a seat, the officer started the interview by turning on a small tape recorder and speaking with us. It took roughly thirty minutes because I needed to keep reviewing everything multiple times. However, after that he simply instructed us to wait in the reception area once more.

"Henry, I have no earthly idea how you pulled that off. Since I've been here, I've asked numerous times, but they refuse to engage in conversation with me "I responded while placing the back of my head on his shoulder.

He responded by shrugging his shoulders and saying, "You just have to know the right things to say that's all. I told them that we would be phoning the press office to report how they treat people who should have been treated like a hero and a victim, if they didn't come and take your statement soon."

I leaned in closer and gave him a peck on the cheek before saying, with a feeble smile, "Thank you for doing this for me." He gave me a grin in return and held his arms around me even more tightly.

After around 10 more minutes had passed, Blake emerged from the restroom wearing a frown and headed into the reception area. I sprang up and flung my arms around his neck as I sobbed again, and he asked me, "God, what is with all this sobbing you dumb girl?" As I moved away from him, he laughed and said, "I bet you look terrible and are covered with snot."

With a relaxed grin on his face, he stated, "Yep, getting arrested for that hug was worth it."

"Are you ok? How is your hand doing?" I took his palm in mine and looked at it, assuming that the spot where he punched the other guy must have been painful.

He brushed away my tears and sighed as he told me, "I'm alright; I was worried about you," while placing his finger under my chin and lifting my face. "I'm fine; I was worried about you."

Henry stepped up to Blake and did something that I never in a million years would have guessed him to do; he extended his hand for Blake to shake. Even Blake appeared to be completely taken aback by the situation. "Thanks for looking out for Samantha, I owe you," Henry stated while shrugging his shoulders.

"You don't owe me, man. Everything is cool." When Blake started shaking hands with him, they both had such an awkward expression that I couldn't help but giggle. They both looked at me as if I had lost my mind, and Henry just rolled his eyes because he was sure that I was crazy even though he didn't say anything.

As Henry left the building through the doors, he called out to his friend, "So come on, I'll drive you to the shopping center to grab your car." Blake didn't say a word as he simply took my hand and went silently to the vehicle. I was sitting in the back and was making a valiant effort to stay awake.

Henry scowled as he said, "I think I should take Samantha home it's almost 1am, if she comes home at this time of the night with you her parents will go crazy." Henry was right, her parents would definitely never let me go out with him again if they saw us together at such a late hour.

Blake retorted in a commanding tone, "No, that's great, I'll take her."

I spoke softly to Blake and said, "Actually, I think Henry's right, my parents are going to be pissed that I'm out past curfew, it will be easier if Henry drives me honestly," and he looked at me over his shoulder for a couple of seconds before nodding his head. "Umm actually Blake, I think Henry's right, my parents are going to be pissed that I'm out past curfew," I said. The rest of the trip was spent with neither of us speaking to the other.

I got out of the car with Henry when he drew up next to Blake's vehicle. I laughed and said with a smile, "Well, that was intriguing."

He said to himself while looking at the ground, "I'm sorry that I got caught and spoiled our date." When I got to his lip ring, I sucked it into my mouth and rolled my tongue over it. He moaned and wove his fingers into my hair before opening his mouth and slipping his tongue in to massage mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a passionate kiss.

After a few seconds, I ran my tongue along his bottom lip. When I got to his lip ring, I sucked it into my mouth and rolled my tongue over it. His kissing was forceful, demanding, and sexy as hell, but I couldn't help comparing it to the kiss that I shared with Henry, and I have to admit that while this kiss was great, my body wasn't alight with excitement. His kissing was demanding and sexy as hell, but I couldn't help comparing it to the kiss that I shared with Henry.

I quickly stepped back as a blush spread over my face as I realized that Henry had to have seen that. I thanked him for what he had done and then continued to peck at his lips.

He spoke the words with a husky tone, "Mmm, thank you for what you just accomplished." I couldn't help but smirk and roll my eyes at him.

As I was pulling away from the parking lot and walking back to Henry's car, I said, "I had better go. My folks are already going to be wondering about me."

"Hey, Jailbait! Are you planning on attending the game tomorrow?" he called, I nodded

I responded by saying, "As long as I'm not grounded."

As he got into his car, he gave me a grin and said, "Ok, well I'll see you there, if you're not grounded." I heaved a sigh and thought, "Ok, time to face the music."

Seventh Chapter

When I stepped through the door, my mother yelled, "Where the heck have you been, young lady?" as soon as I saw her.

"Err well I...." Henry immediately put his arm around my shoulder and prevented me from continuing.

Henry said to Anika, "My fault, I'm sorry Anika, I met Samantha out, and we went on to a party my friend was having; we didn't realize the time, otherwise we would have been back sooner," while giving them his adorable puppy dog face. "I'm sorry Anika, I met Samantha out, and we went on to a party my friend was having; we didn't realize the time If I hadn't noticed the slight twitch in his eye, I may have been fooled into thinking he was talking the truth. God, he was that skilled at lying.

James looked at me when he said this and he was still a little upset, but it was evident that he accepted Henry's account. "Oh now that's different, we thought you were out with Blake tonight Samantha," James replied.

"Err, I was, but then I walked onto the party with Henry," I muttered while staring down at my feet. I wasn't a very good liar, but fortunately for me, they were both exhausted, so they gave up fast.

As James and his mother made their way up the stairs, the mother said, "Okay, well we're going to bed, goodnight kids."

Both of us wished each other a good night at the same time.

I yawned and stretched, and all of a sudden my eyes felt like they were going to close. "Thank you, Henry," I replied as I turned to face him. Looking back, I realize now that I didn't deserve this boy because he was the best friend a girl could ask for.

He indicated the exit by waving in the direction of the door and saying, "Anytime, Samantha bear, I should get going."

"Would you kindly remain here with me?" I pleaded with them, because I didn't want to be by myself because I had a feeling that if I was, I'd have nightmares about the guys at the arcade tonight if I was by myself.

After staring at me for a few moments, he eventually gave me a nod, said "Ok," locked the front door, and then followed me up to my room.

I was so worn out that I couldn't even be bothered to put on my pajamas. As a result, I just took off my top and skirt as I walked, threw them on the floor, and hopped into bed wearing only my bra and my underwear. While I was shrugging out of my clothes, he took a long breath, but I was too exhausted to worry about it. Samantha, where are your pajamas? he asked as he took off his clothes, appearing uncomfortable while he tried not to look at me. "Samantha, where are your pyjamas?"

He sighed and had the pained look on his face again. He just stood there for a couple of seconds before climbing in the bed next to me in his boxers and pulling me closer to him. "Too tired," I mumbled almost asleep already. I was aware that he was placing his hands on my almost-naked body, but rather than finding it unsettling, I found that I enjoyed it way too much. I could feel his skin pressing against mine, and it made me tingle. After giving his chest a sweet kiss and burying my face in his neck, I was so exhausted that I fell asleep almost immediately.
