The Collision Chapter 17

BRIELLE

Dylan Thoma was my boyfriend!!!

It still felt unreal, you know?

And it was just as I had imagined it would be… maybe even more than I had, if we’re being real. Dylan was the kind of guy who stimulated you in every way and not just sex-wise if you know what I mean.

I always looked forward to our intellectual banters especially, because they were highly entertaining, and well… because they almost always led to amazing sex.

That was a fast way to get to a consensus, amirite?

Speaking of amazing sex,

We were doing it everywhere… my office, his office, the elevator, the conference room, his apartment, mine…

Life had never been this perfect.

Now, I know you’d be skeptical, because office romance almost always gets out of hand, but Dylan and I had learnt how to balance things. We knew when to keep things strictly business and when to loosen up, and it had worked in our favor so far.

It had already been a month of pure bliss, and we were still together, going strong. I sometimes had to pinch myself to remind myself that it wasn’t some imaginative fantasy you know?

That it was real, that Dylan was mine, and all mine alone.

My door barged open, snapping me out of my thoughts, and in popped the one person who almost always entered my office without knocking,

Savannah Thomas.

She looked royally pissed, but stunning nevertheless in a mint ruched knee-length dress. “Alright, I’ve had enough.” She fumed.

I stood up in a bid to placate her, not quite getting exactly what she had had enough of. “Woah, calm down Savvy. What’s wrong? Sit, sit.”

She did as I suggested, the pissed off look still on her face. “I’ve had it up to here-” She indicated exactly where the ‘here’ was, “-with stupid Ryan Rodriguez. He’s being too much of a jerk, and he has made it abundantly clear that you are the one he wants to work with, so you can have him. I’m done.” She stormed out of my office after that.

I sat there, briefly wondering what to do with the information I had been given. It really was a shocker to be honest, because Ryan was one of the nicest people I had ever met, but that also didn’t mean that Savvy was lying? What at all could she stand to get from such an accusation?

Nothing.

As it stood now, I had only two options,

To either have a talk with Ryan,

Or simply do as Savvy had suggested to save everyone the trouble.

I was still stuck in this dilemma when Dylan came into my office almost two hours later.

“Hey there.” He smirked, still standing at the door, looking dashing as usual in a dark green suit, his hair a mess of dark curls atop his head.

I still couldn’t believe all of this yummy goodness was mine.

“Hey, yourself.” I smirked back, leaning in my chair and doing an obvious head-to-toe inspection of the fine specimen standing before me. “Like what you see?”

I licked my lips seductively and pretended to think. “Uhm, I want to say yes… but I’d very much prefer if what I was seeing was in less clothes.”

Chuckling slightly, he approached me, bending to capture my mouth in a hot, searing kiss. “Hmm, what will I do without your smart mouth?”

I laughed. “God, when did you get so cheesy, Dy?”

He nuzzled my neck, joining me in laughter. “Come on. Let’s get out of here before I have you for lunch.

Oh.

He must have noticed the change in atmosphere, and the hunger that lit up my expression as I gazed into his eyes.

“Bree,”

I stood up to meet him halfway, a delicious shiver running down my spine at the sound of need that emanated from him as our tongues fought each other for dominance.

Dylan’s hands quickly found their way to my waist, and I was suddenly hoisted unto my desk, as his hands moved under my skirt to cup my ass, squeezing hard as his mouth trailed down to my breasts.

But it wasn’t enough. I wanted more.

I quickly reached for his belt, fumbling with the damned thing for a hot second as I struggled to free his already erect cock. “God, Brie.” He moaned against my skin, reaching for breasts with both hands now, and causing me to arch into his touch, almost shooting of the desk in the process. I have no idea how my shirt came undone, and I honestly didn’t care. All I cared about in that moment, was the pleasurable feel of his thumbs brushing against my hardened peaks before giving each the attention it deserved with his mouth.

“I need to taste you, Bree.” He murmured, but I shook my head frantically, “No time for that.” I reached into his breast pocket for protection which I quickly helped him slip on like a woman possessed.

Adjusting our positions, Dylan thrust into me, following a promise to take me hard and fast. My body stretched to receive him, and a giggle that swiftly morphed into a moan left my lips at the sensation of being deliciously full. “Fuck, Dy.”

“You like that, yeah?”

It felt so fucking good.

I arched into him, drawing him deeper, my hands tightly gripping my desk for leverage.

“How are you so fucking tight?” He groaned, thrusting into me, hard and fast just like he promised, each one drawing fresh moans and whimpers. The office was filled with the sounds of our frantic lovemaking, and though it briefly crossed my mind that we had left my door unlocked, and that anyone could walk in on us at that moment,

I still didn’t care.

My orgasm peaked, and I groaned in hushed pleasure, right as Dylan lost control and followed me over the edge, whispering my name over and over again.

DYLAN

Our intense lovemaking had worked out quite an appetite for both of us, and so it was no surprise that we hardly said a word as we hungrily wolfed down our lunch of fries and chicken.

Brielle and I had decided to have lunch at KFC, and even though we could have ordered in, I had promised her that I was going to take her out… before we got carried away,

So here I was now, fulfilling that promise.

“How’s your chicken?”

Brielle lifted her head, mouth still half full. “Mm, mso goofd.”

She looked so adorable sitting over there, so enthusiastic over her food… and even though I knew she meant it was so good, I just wanted to rile her up a little bit. “What’s that?”

She chuckled and rolled her eyes, taking her time to swallow this time. “I meant it was so good. Come on, you couldn’t figure that out on your own? How are you even competing with me for veep then?”

Oh, it’s on.

“Don’t tell me you’ve never heard of the phrase, ‘never assume anyone knows anything’.” I asked, a smirk making its way onto my face. “That’s a key business trick, yunno?”

“Oh, it was? Thanks for telling me about it then, I believe I am one hundred percent ready for the position now.” She finished pointedly, leaning in to pick a fry off my plate. “You might as well give up, Dylan Thomas.”

We stared into each other’s eyes, lost in what seemed to be glare of intimidation before we both gave up and burst into laughter. “I swear the day one of us wins this post, I’m really going to miss this.” I retorted mid-laugh.”

“Don’t I know it?”

A comfortable silence settled between us.

“Dy?” Brielle called out after a while, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Yeah?”

“I need you to help me out with this hypothetical story.”

“Okay?” I nodded for her to go ahead.

“So, there are two colleagues, and they have a client, right? The first colleague had a huge workload, and so he transferred his client to the second colleague, but the client wants to work with the first, and is frustrating the second colleague who comes to tell his friend that he can’t work with said client anymore. What do you think the first colleague should do?”

I sat there pensive, soaking in the information… briefly wondering if it had anything to do with her and then brushing that thought aside.

If it had anything to do with her, she’d tell me. Right?

“Well,” I cleared my throat. “I think the first colleague would have to talk to the client to establish why he doesn’t want to work with the second colleague. Then, if the matter can’t be addressed and settled, he’ll delegate other roles to the second colleague and take his client back again.”

She nodded in understanding. “Exactly my thought. Thanks, Dy.” She smiled at me, reaching across the table to hold my hand. I smiled back. “Wanna talk about it?”

“Oh, it’s no big deal. It’s just Ryan Rodriguez being a jerk to Savvy.” She finished casually.

That bastard.

Brielle looked up and realised I wasn’t smiling anymore. “Dylan, come on. It was just a work date.”

“The bastard likes you. Why else do you think he’s doing all of this if not to get your attention?” I fumed.

“Listen, Dy.” She reached for my hand again, smirking slightly. “It’s cute to see you jealous, but I have no feelings for him, I’ve made it very clear to him too.”

“That isn’t going to stop him, Bree. You should know this.”

“I know. But, if he constantly sees that his feelings aren’t being reciprocated, he’ll turn his attention elsewhere.”

I highly doubted that, but I kept silent.

“You know how much he’s bringing to Lavish, Dy. The very least we could do is make sure that he’s at least satisfied with our delivery.”

“I get it,” I admitted begrudgingly. “But it is him I don’t trust.”

She laughed, standing to plant a little kiss on my lips. “Well, trust me.”

She sat back down. “Besides, it may not even get to the point where I’ll have to work with him again. I may be able to settle the dispute between him and Savannah, you know?”

Well, that was true.

I grinned sheepishly. “Can’t blame a man for worrying about leaving his girlfriend with wolves.”

Brielle chuckled amusedly. “Well, no need to worry, boyfriend… cos, this girlfriend knows how to hunt.”

It was about ten minutes past lunch-over when Dylan and I pulled up at the underground car park of Lavish.

“Good thing one of us is going to be Veep you know?” He said casually as we both exited his car, in reference to our tardiness, causing me to break into a chuckle. “I don’t even know why you even bother at this point, you know? Saying one of us when we all know it’s going to be me. Just start getting used to it already.” I declared cockily.

Dylan circled the car over to my end. “I like when you act all proud, Princess,” He whispered, smirking. His strong tanned arms trapped me between the car and his warm body, as I lifted my chin to stare into his eyes haughtily. “Oh yeah? Why’s that?”

“It makes hearing you beg later on even more pleasurable.”

Oh sweet heavens.

It honestly took every ounce of control not to jump his bones right there and then. Instead, I managed to get my racing heartbeat under control, while practically ignoring the heat rushing into my cheeks and other places I wouldn’t exactly care to mention. Schooling my features into a somewhat blank one, I grumbled. “You really don’t play fair, Dylan Knight.”

He chuckled, placing a light kiss on my forehead. “Let’s start heading back.” Reaching for my hand, he auto-locked his sleek white Tesla, and proceeded to steer me towards the elevator.

Chloe spotted us first as we exited the elevator and walked towards our offices.

She looked antsy, like she was in the last place she’d want to be if you know what I mean. Beside me, Dylan froze in his tracks, his demeanor all icy and on edge. I looked at him in concern.

“What are you doing here?”

I followed his gaze to one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen.

Slender, blonde-haired, dressed to kill in a skirt suit that screamed, I’m-sexy-and-not-afraid-to-show-it.

The old me would have been instantly self-conscious, but I had grown past that now.

What I definitely wasn’t prepared for was the shrill squeal she let out before jumping into Dylan’s arms.

Oh.

I was pushed aside from the impact, and a soft gasp escaped my lips at its suddenness.

Dylan pushed her away impatiently. “I believe I asked you a question-”

“Dylan! Of course I’m here to see you, Dy… well, that and to check up on the company I invested in.” She giggled slightly, shaking her head in what seemed to be,

Amusement?

Was she not taking the hint? I mean, I, definitely would not be able to handle this much humiliation, much less in a corporate environment like this.

She finally seemed to notice me.

Even though I had been standing beside Dylan right from the very start. “Ooh, I didn’t see you there.” She stretched out her hand for a handshake, then just as quickly changed her mind, and engulfed me in a freaking hug.

What the hell?

“I’m Madeline Decker, an investor for RetroCorp, and Dylan’s girlfriend.”
