The Cursed Alpha's Redemption Chapter 48

“Y-you’re the Silver Witch?” Kendra asked in open amazement. The woman standing before her did not look a day over twenty five, and from what the she wolf had heard, the Silver witch was more than two centuries old.

“Indeed I am,”

“B-but, I don’t understand… you look so young!”

A part of her thought maybe she was being fooled… and with the way things had been going for her, it was only normal that she’d feel that way— that she’d be quite paranoid of this silver lining that seemed to have fallen right onto her lap.

The dreadlocked woman dressed in a flowing, beautiful, thick, white robe with a hood stepped away from the cauldron. She moved towards the distressed, dung covered woman, her head cocked to the side in curiosity. Snapping her fingers, she said, “KLERE VERANDER!” and Kendra’s rag for clothes vanished, only to be replaced with a stunning red fitting bodice that seemed to have been sewn together with a matching set of breeches. The she wolf’s hands tentatively reached out to touch her hair, only to find that her curls had changed into bone straight hair. A mortified gasp escaped her lips, “W-what have you done to my hair?”

“Relax,” The woman brushed of her worries in her melodious voice. “It should go back to normal in a few days. I must say I’m liking the new look on you, your previous clothes were such an eyesore, no offence.”

Kendra could only stare at the woman stupidly, stuck in some kind of daze.

“Do you believe I am who you think I am now?”

Kendra shook her head in the negative, causing the white haired woman to sigh out loud. She was dark skinned, just like her. The revelation that the famous Silver Witch was a black woman gave her some kind of pride that she couldn’t really explain, but truth be told, the woman was odd.

“Child, if you should see how I really look, I’m sure you’d be scuttling away from me in fear, your little ass taking you back the way you came.” She huffed slightly, “You’re here because of Killian, no?”

She really was the Silver witch.

“Yes. Can you help me? I was told you were the only one who could help him with the curse, and I was desperate, so here I am, finally meeting you after many days of trying.”

“All this just because you do not want to marry him.’ The Silver witch tsked. “May I ask you why?”

Even she had no tangible answer to herself.

Kendra shook her head, “N-no… I’m afraid it’s personal.” Why the fuck was she feeling so nervous around the woman for crying out loud? She may be older, but she still looked like her age mate for fucks sake.

There was no need to be nervous.

“You know deep down that you have no reason, Kendra… but you lie so smoothly, it’s impressive I’ll give you that. You can call me Morgana, so you would stop addressing me as the Silver Witch or the White haired woman in your head,” She chuckled in amusement.

What the fuck?

She could read minds too?

“You look like you desperately want to flee this place, child. Relax. I don’t bite,” She winked, her face suddenly taking a serious look. “I’m afraid there’s no way to help you and the young Alpha, Kendra. You’re a resilient woman for braving the odds and making it this far, but save for the only way you know how to break the curse, there is no other way.”

Kendra shook her head in denial, unable to come to terms with what Morgana was saying, “No,” She whispered, “No, please don’t tell me this. There has got to be something else we can do, something— anything.”

“I’m sure you have heard about your beautiful destiny right?” Morgana asked all of a sudden.

“Well yes, but what does it have to do with the conversation we are having?”

“It has everything to do with it, child. The unfortunate thing is that the term beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, and as such, the explication of your destiny is subject to many interpretations.”

Kendra was confused. “What exactly are you trying to tell me?”

“You have the power to bring two powerful nations down, child— chosen by two very powerful goddesses to become one with two very powerful men.”

Fuck, not this again.

“I am not some puppet to be manipulated into doing something that is not of my own accord, Morgana,” She spat out in contempt, eyes a blazing blue.

“Calm down, I understand exactly how you’re feeling… but you’re going to have to choose.”

“I have chosen. I chose myself. I run my life, I am the maker of my own destiny.”

“Your indecision could very well lead to the end of the world— women, children… innocent souls would die for your sake. Are you telling me you are ready to leave with that?”

Kendra swallowed, her hands clenching and unclenching over and over again.

She couldn’t do that.

She was all things… stubborn, selfish— but she was no monster.

“You have a very perilous journey ahead of you, Kendra— a very serious decision to make, for you cannot choose both men, and your choice will grant you the blessing of one goddess, and the curse of the other. You’re going to face consequences no matter which choice you make, some more dire than others, but you will make the right choice, I know you will.” The white haired woman said solemnly, meaning every single word.

Kendra scoffed in disbelief.

The quest had been a totally useless one!

“You know what?” She fumed, “Fuck all of this— fuck you, fuck all of those deities you worship. I will not be subjected to this.”

“Such foul words— brave ones too coming from a lady’s mouth.” Morgana tsked again. “Look, I understand you, truly I do, and I wish there was something I could do to help you out, but I can’t.” Her eyes glazed over, taking on the familiar shade of white that her Oracle back home, Maymunah got whenever she was making divinations.

“You don’t have much time, child.” Came her warning. “If you are choosing the Alpha over the General, then you have to leave immediately, for he is on his way here.”

Shit.

What was she going to do? What was she going to do?

Of course she was choosing Killian. She’d choose him anytime, any day over that vile, handsome man. The question now was, was she ready to gain Aphrodite’s curse in addition to all her worries?

It seemed like she had no choice.

Steeling her shoulders, she asked, “Do you happen to know where Killian is?”

Morgana grinned proudly, “I knew you’d make the right choice. He’s in Dnakle.”

She knew that town.

Wait, that was where Alaric Macintyre had been heading towards before he suddenly changed his mind!

She was interrupted from her thoughts by a loud whooshing sound, her eyes widening in disbelief when a portal appeared on one side of the cave, revealing a market square packed to the maximum with people going about their activities, surprisingly unaware of what was happening right before them.

Freedom.

Turning to her savior, she let her eyes reveal her gratitude and all the words she was too tongue tied to speak. Morgana nodded in understanding. “Here, take this,” She reached out for the she wolf’s hand and placed something in it.

A medium sized, opal colored gem.

Before Kendra could voice out her confusion, the Witch explained. “It’s a summoning stone, you can use it to reach out to me when you need my help,” She said, squeezing her arm slightly. “May Selene be with you child, and open up yourself to your mate— let him in, before it’s too late.”

Her ominous words rang in Kendra’s ears long after the portal had closed, but she did her best to forget about it.

Now, where was Dnakle exactly?

She didn’t have that much time, she needed to get to Killian.

She needed to get to her mate.
