The Hidden Luna Queen Chapter 11

Riley

After that night, everything changed. My parents didn’t care about me going over to Archer’s anymore and actually seemed to prefer it.

It was weird, but it was nice. Since Zane and I broke up his sister Breanne doesn't talk to me. I've reached out a couple of times but she never answers. I wasn't super popular in school and she was my only real friend if I hadn't met Archer and the guys this summer would've been pretty boring.

I'm a little nervous as school gets closer. I'll have to deal with Zane and Breanne every day and I won't have my guys with me. It seems a little dumb to make friends whenever I'll be leaving soon anyways to take my place on the throne.

I decide not to focus on it right now and instead focus on the good things. For most of the summer I have been over at the Dark Moon Pack and my brothers would join me over there too at least once a week. They ended up joining in on trainings with Archer’s pack and everyone treated the boys as if they belonged.

It made me happy to see, especially with Todd because he seemed to thrive on the attention. Harry on the other hand still doesn’t seem to like Archer very much. He won’t tell me what his issue is with him, but I wish he could stop being such a prick around him.

But being around Archer is fun. Archer is playful and sweet, but his presence can be demanding and sexy. It’s hard to stay closed off to him, something is drawing me towards him. Some unspoken connection that I’m unable to describe.

It scares me to feel this way about him. I want to keep my distance, but it’s difficult when his presence seems to dominate all my senses.

I became close friends with him and Brandon and Caleb, his mother seemed to adore me, I know the omegas that take care of the house by name, overall… being with Archer at the Dark Moon Pack felt like home.

I could see that my mom was apprehensive of me getting close to another boy so quickly, but she seemed relieved when she realized that I was close with Brandon and Caleb too. Once she saw it wasn’t just Archer, she became a lot more relaxed with me spending so much time with them.

My dad on the other hand seemed to encourage the two of us to be around each other. My mom gave him disapproving looks but he waves her off.

My parents have to go out of town this weekend and it shocked me that mom asked Archer if the boys and I could stay at his pack for the weekend. He eagerly agreed, but Harry begged mom to let us stay home. Dad refused and told him they’d feel more comfortable for us to be at the pack and Harry has been sulking ever since.

Todd on the other hand loved hanging out with Archer, Brandon, and Caleb. He begged to tag along with me pretty much anytime I went over there. I’m curious to see how an entire weekend will be with the three of us there.

Will Todd get tired of being there or will he try to come over even more? Will Harry finally let go of his thing with Archer?

I sigh as I zip up my bag, only time will tell what's going to happen. I hear the honking of the truck and I take a deep breath before spraying my perfume. Mom runs into the room, and she tells me, “I put extra in your bag, just in case.”

I chuckle, “Thanks, mom.”

She hugs me tightly and says, “If you need anything, Rieka. Just let me know.”

My eyes widen in surprise that she called me by my birth name. She smiles softly before kissing my head and says, “Don’t forget who you are, dear. If those boys step out of line, you have more power than all of them combined.”

I chuckle, “Mom, it’s fine. We’re safe with them.”

Dad walks in and says, “She’s right, Dani, settle down.”

She breathes out and nods to herself like she’s still trying to convince herself that we’re right. I hear Todd yell as he runs outside, “No parent weekend!”

Dad rolls his eyes making mom chuckle and he mutters, “I should go make sure he doesn’t have any pranks up his sleeve. We don’t want him pissing off the big bad wolves.”

I chuckle as he rushes off after Todd. I look over at Harry who’s scowling with his arms crossed and I hold my hand out to him and say, “Come on, Harry, it’s going to be a good weekend.”

He glares at me and then looks at mom and sighs, “Do you have to go?”

She sighs, “It’s going to be fine, Har-bear.”

He groans at her nickname for him making me chuckle as I walk outside. Archer is talking with my dad while Caleb, Brandon, and Todd have started a game of tag. Todd’s giggling is infectious making me smile as I walked towards Archer and my dad.

Dad looks at me and wraps his arm around me, squeezing me tight as he says, “I love you, Ri.”

I smile, “Love you too, dad. Have a good time with mom.”

At that moment I watch as my mom and Harry walk out of the house. Harry plasters on a fake smile as they walk towards us. My mom smiles at Archer as she says, “We appreciate you all watching over Riley, Harry, and Todd. Thank your mother for me.”

He smiles and says, “It’s our pleasure, Mrs. Dani.”

She nods and glances at my dad and he kisses her head and waves at us and says, “Have fun kids.”

Archer takes my hand as we walk back to the car and asks, “You ready for the best weekend ever?”

Once in the car, Todd yells again, “No parent weekend! WHOO!”
