Iris's POV
"No oh!" I yelled, trying to free myself from him, my bum hit the floor, and I turned and looked around, I was still in the castle and it was not yet the next day.
"Bloody shit! It's just a dream." I held my chest, stopping it from pounding more.
"Iris, are you okay?" Sally invaded my thoughts.
"Sally, I am scared, he might send us out of here by tomorrow if we still don't have strength."
"What should we do?"
"Let's try to get stamina, do you think you could help me? A long silence goes on. Please, Sally."
"Iris, stop acting as if you are the only one in danger, I am also going to be a danger, if we are sent out, so I will help you."
"You will help?" Sally rolled her eyes at me.
"Stop asking, get out of the castle, we need to be at the Field, then you have to let me out."
"Are you sure, I could?"
"You have to try." The only thing I thought I could respond with was just a nod, getting out of the castle, knowing I was at a great distance from the castle, I looked through the room to check if anyone was there but then there was no one, slowly I take off my wears, one of after the other, after my first shifting I didn't try to shift, I only limited myself to having a conversation with my wolf.
"I am still very much confused, as to how to go about it."
"Are you ready?"
"I guess..." I still haven't mastered how to go about it.
"Don't worry I will help you force myself out but you have to bear the pains, it will be painful but as soon as I am out, it will be gone, just assumed that you are having your first pup."
Sally is funny, I tittered at her words then I remembered mom, used to tell father back then that, having pups is painful and that she will never have another and when I cry for one, she will say, "Get your mate, and give yourself, lot of pups" I smiled remembering those good old days
"Let it out and give me control to take over." I nodded trying to be focused. "Get on your four."
I did as I was told, the pain was unbearable, it was like the first time, I shifted, and pushing her back was all I thought of doing.
At this point, she knew what I was about to do but she took total control, she forced herself out, our fur covered my body and my bone broke in great sounds but it was no longer that painful, now I am on all four, Sally howl.
"You are beautiful." I told her, and she just nodded, she was looking weak after the transformation, I felt bad for not trying to train her back then because I was scared of the pain that I would go through during the transformation.
"Stop feeling bad for us, now, we both need to focus on the future." I nodded. "Good, we should run before my adrenaline goes off and you take over."
"It's true, she is right. We need to run." We started running, and we ran a great deal that was the first time, I had ever done without getting tired.
"I guess it's time for us to shift." I knew what Sally meant by that. "This time, you should search for your willpower, your pain is your strength."
That was all she said before I shifted back into my human form, the night was long, and I ran back to the castle, my willpower and my pain, those two are all that I could focus on.
"Iris!" I heard my chest and turned and looked at Rupert. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, where are you..."
"Fine, I am on my way." I stared at him confused. "Sorry, that wasn't for you, I got a mind link that some rogues are trying to attack the pack, so I got to go, I will be gone for like a day or two, I will have to be on guard for those two days, when I return our training we kick off and should in case, you noticed any funny movement around the castle, mind link me, although I will send some guards to..."
"No need, I will be fine." He stared at me. "Yes, I will be fine."
"It's your call but don't do something stupid in my absence and the boy that tried to attack you back then did you see..." He grabbed his head. "Stop distracting me, I am already on my way." That mind link could be annoying sometimes, and if he is going to be the next alpha, it will be tiring because the entire pack will invade his mind. "Sorry, I got to go."
"Wait!" I hurry into the kitchen, filling water for him in my flask. "Here, you should have it." I dragged his hand and placed it on his hand. "You should be careful, I heard rogues are dangerous." He nodded, pulling the castle door.
"If you are bored, over there is my library." That was the first time, he ever said something about my comfort, although the very first day, he provided food for me, that food might be for me because he doesn't crave food, he is a vampire, so he can't possibly stock that much because of himself and they look fresh.
The next morning after having my bath and breakfast, I decided to go to that section of the castle where he said he had his library, I could see he loved to read, the shelf was not dusty and it was well arranged, it was arranged like a student library in an institution, the books are mostly romantic.
"Hm! Was he a good love?" I asked curiously.
"Iris, over there, it's a martial art, you could learn the art of war with this." Sally had drawn my attention to it.
"Fine, we could read that..."
"No, we don't have time, forget about those romances, let's learn first, that we don't have time."
I sighed but she was right, I pulled the book, grabbing it to read, and a piece of paper fell off it. I picked it up and put it back into it, I didn't want to go through it, I just felt it was private and he would be mad if I went through it.
I sat for hours, going through the book, through the day, the book was all I could go through, I was surprised, it had a note at every end of the chapter, about how to shift into your wolf easily.
I read through it, I wanted to see if it was true, so I asked that Sally and I shift, It seemed I didn't want to destroy anything in the house, so I decided to go out and try every step that Rupert had written there.
"Breathe through the nose, focus on your willpower, stay in all four, so you will not be forced into four, let your wolf watch through your eyes, and do not force it, let it out naturally."
With every instruction, I didn't even know that I had already shifted.
"Iris, we did do it without pain?" Sally invaded my head.
"Yes, that was fast, let's see if we have the same stamina as last night." She didn't think twice before we ran through the road, this time, we were running from the road to the training ground and it was fast.
"How many minutes did we get here?"
"Five minutes."
"That's the fastest I have ever gone."
"Now, let's shift into our human form." Yet again it was fast, I didn't expect it. ''Maybe, my willpower is what is at work."
Grabbing the spear, I trained with it, learning how to swing it from my front to my back without it falling off.
"Look who we have here, did Rupert put you into this, desperate bitch."
