Iris's POV
"Aw!" I screamed closing my lips, I was shivering, as I watched Jack, push and pull out his dagger from Bolton's body, he was brutal, he had stabbed the man like he was some animal. "Who is this man that the goddess had given me as a mate? A ruthless Alpha."
The picture of my father and mother falling to the floor, the same way Delta Bolton had fallen to the floor, was all I could see, I ran, not looking back at the scene that had just played in my eyes.
My tears kept coming, and I didn't know that my fake mask was washing away, and the real Iris was now obvious.
"Princess Iris!!!' Susan, one of the maids at the royal castle called, I froze in my spot.
"I am not Iris, don't come closer." I try to control myself and bring out the voice I have been using since I arrived.
"Come on, I know it's you and this face of yours, I can never forget it. And the royal mark it's on your neck. You are the late Alpha's daughter." Before I could protest she pulled me into a hug, I had no choice but to hug her back.
"Why did you come back? Has the alpha already seen you? You shouldn't have come back without an alpha by your side."
"I could see the worry in her eyes." I tried to run away, but she grabbed my hands. I don't know why you return but if you must stay here, you shouldn't show your face to them. "You should be very careful, come with me." I hesitate. "I will help you, so you have nothing to be afraid of." After giving it a thought, I decided to follow her, If she tried anything stupid, I might as well kill her.
She pushed her door open, and after checking to see if anyone followed us, she asked that I get in and lock the door, she threw makeup at me, so I could use it to fix myself. When I was done, I was sure that no one would recognize me again.
"Why are you helping me?" I finally asked, I have been betrayed so many times, that I found it difficult to trust anyone.
"I am sorry, back then I didn't believe that you were truly the daughter of the late alpha. I let Hilary and all the lies that her father the Delta make us believe, they made us believe that you are nothing but one of those rogue wolves adopted into the family. I am sorry for treating you badly. Alpha Iris." The name sounds good, alpha Iris, It's lovely and you like it but the truth is, do I have the strength to protect them, am I worthy to be an alpha? She stood and pulled the collar of my shirt.
"You should be careful, the mark on your neck it's obvious and it's only the royal family from the goldfang pack, that carries this mark."
"Thank you" I mouthed.
"Did you return to take over the pack?" I pinned my lips and looked at her. "Please save us from the hand of alpha Damien and his demon Luna, I could help you meet with other pack members, those who are soldiers, and some who are still loyal to the formal alpha, which is your father, they will be glad to help you, will you save us?"
I wanted to say yes, and that is the reason, I returned but I am scared too scared to admit it what if I failed them? I don't want to lead them on, if I fail, it will not only spell death to those who trusted in me but more pain to those who will be left in the pack.
"You don't have to be afraid, we will help you, Drake, he is in a good position to help you"
"Who is Drake?" I asked concerned.
"Oh, he joined the pack a few weeks after you left the pack, he had lived all his life with his mother's Pack, he is the grandson of your grandfather's beta."
"Drake Sylvester?" I asked, she nodded, he was a good friend, he used to visit the pack with his mother back then and we were good friends, when his grandfather and my grandfather died during that time, rogue attacked the pack, and they were both killed and Drake never visited again.
"Do you know him?" Susans asked.
"Yes, he used to be a friend, so why did he return?"
"No one knows, he is more like an aloof man, he is always calm and the only person, Damien is scared of, is him."
"Wow... So his presence still makes him insecure?" I smirk
"Who wouldn't be scared of him, after all, he is strong and handsome too" I tittered, Helga was crushing on him back then, she always loved any male wolves that were handsome.
Do you think, he will agree to help me?"
"He loves justice and he hates oppression, so I am sure, he will not think twice but to help me."
"Okay, I will look for a way to meet him for now, I have to leave"
"Where do you live?"
"At the brothel"
"What?" She yelled, I think she is not finding it interesting.
"Relax, I needed to assume the character of someone that Alpha Keith is sending to Damien"
"Which means, you will blow your cover off if alpha Keith's lady gets here" I ran my hand over my head, I didn't give it a thought, mentioning it, was alarming, I stood fast from her bed. "Is anything wrong?" She asked.
"Nope, I need to fix something, thank you, I will see you around"
"If you have to come, you should come during the night and tap on my door three times, and I will know you are the one there."
I gave her a small nod and hurty out, after peeking to see if anyone was there. I hurried into the large room the girl of yesterday was there, and she rushed to me.
"Are you alright?" She asked, I ran my hair throw her hair. "I am fine, hope that beast didn't come back for you.'
"No, he didn't, thank you for protecting me but next time, please don't risk your life for a total stranger"
"You are no stranger to me, you offer me your bed, so we are not strangers..."
"Iris"
A voice in my head called, I closed my eyes to prevent the young lady from noticing that I was communicating with someone.
"Campbell, how are you?"
"I am okay, what about you? Are you okay, I have been trying to mind-link you for the past week but you are not responding."
"Sorry, I am a bit busy."
"Okay, how are you now, did you need any help?"
"Yes, I need you to search for alpha Keith, I don't know which pack he is from but you have to search for him and stop the lady, he is sending as a prostitute to Damien"
"Why? Wait, did you act like the lady he is sending to work as one of the alpha Damien brothel"
