A white smoke began to come out of the wound and it was getting darker and more painful. Bati
hard on the ground, cursing loudly.
Thinking, I needed to stop and think.
I saw a big stone a few inches away, me
dragged it there and with all the strength I had left, I threw it in his
head, leaving him bewildered. He ended up turning his back, which
gave me a chance.
I ran towards him, but the bastard was faster.
My world fell apart when I saw him holding Mila by
neck. Then, without hesitation, he tore out her heart and threw it to
my feet.
I screamed at my whole being, feeling something tear inside me,
as violent tears came down my face. I fell on my knees
floor and screamed with all the air of my lungs, the pain made my body
all hurt.
He came to me and pulled me by the hair. Physical pain was nothing
compared to emotional pain, then the memory of yesterday struck me.
"-I’m afraid of vampires. -Mila whispered frightened.
-Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to you or our people. No matter what I have to do."
She trusted me and I let her die. She and her brother, I failed
once again.
So I attacked him.
The pain made me furious, completely blind.
I threw my body over yours and knocked it to the ground, jumped into yours
back and I ripped out both your arms and then your head hard but
it was too late. I fell to the ground again, crying
compulsively.
I dragged myself slowly to Mila, she had been thrown beside her brother.
I leaned over the two and soon blood was on my hands, the
I hugged her hard.
I raised my head to the sky and screamed again, my scream echoed all over
forest and beyond. My crying became more violent and my body
began to have small, severe seizures.
The pain tore me apart for
inside, consumed me from head to toe making a pressure on my
chest, leaving me without air, tried to open my mouth looking for air, but only the
I was crying and screaming.
-Don’t! No, they don’t!
Their bodies were cold and their eyes open, lifeless. My heart
My soul was bleeding.
I heard hurried steps coming, but I didn’t care.
I was sinking into my pain, my grief, my guilt.
-By the Moon! -Aiden’s voice reached my ears.
Strong arms pulled me away from their body and I saw several
people around me. Rebecca cried in my brother’s arms
His eyes were closed.
-Hayley, come with me. -Jackson said in my ear.
He kept pulling me away, squeezing me against him, into a
trying not to let me get away.
-Please, they don’t, please. -Cried out in tears, me
debating and kicking. Jackson squeezed me harder.
that
-I’m so sorry. -Whispered.
-It was my fault, they died because of me! -I screamed out of control.
-Don’t say that, it wasn’t your fault. -Ralhou gruff, trying to get rid of
of that guilt.
thrown silver blades into my body, directly into my heart,
tearing me apart.
It hurt too much.
I kept screaming, crying, and struggling in Jackson’s arms.
He just squeezed me and tried to get me away from the bodies of Mila and Diego,
so I wouldn’t suffer to see them anymore.
Until the pain stopped.
My legs faltered, I lost all my strength and my body
collapsed, being held by Jackson. While my vision was
increasingly blurred, I heard ringing in my ears until everything
was silent.
No more feeling, no more hearing. So I blacked out, feeling
the darkness takes over my body and my mind.
Notes:
My heart is aching to see the pain of our little wolf. It was hard
write this scene so sad.

HAYLEY BLAKE
Everything was still dark.
A strong light hit me hard, I was forced to cover my eyes with
my hands not to lose sight. When I could open my eyes
again, I felt them tearing and a big cake formed in my
throat to recognize the place that was, was the clearing where Diego and
Mila has been killed.
The trees were more alive, they shone brightly as light
of the sun. The ground was full of flowers of all kinds and colors
different, leaving the place colorful, so vibrant. The sky was clear and
the sun was shining over my head. The clearing was full of birds and
butterflies, they flew everywhere, even over me.
It was such a beautiful scene that it provoked a kind of inner peace within
me for a moment.
I felt a movement behind me and turned, alert.
There she was, Mila. Her blue eyes shone, she opened a big
smile and ran to me.
Aunt Hayley! -She cried out, I bent down and wrapped her with my arms.
I began to cry violently as I held her tight. I opened my mouth
to mourn me, but the cake in my throat grew every time
I remembered what happened.
-Aunty, don’t cry. You’re too pretty to cry. -Said she walking away.
Her little fingers tried to dry my tears, but they were
too stubborn to stop.
-Oh my little one, I’m so sorry. -Lamented as I tried
breathe properly.
-I don’t know why? -She asked and I denied with my head. -
Because I found my parents here.
I widened my eyes with your answer.
-How?
-It’s true, now we’re all together. I, my little brother, my
Mom and Dad. They’re so nice, I’m happy here, Auntie.
She stroked my face with her small hand.
-I promised that I would take care of you, protect you. -I insisted with the voice
embargoed.
-And you did it, aunt, saved us, protected us and we were very happy to
your side. But something was missing, I felt a little pain in the chest, here in
heart. Now I’m complete, I’m happy with my family-your
voice was calm. -My mom asked me to thank you for having
Take care of me and Di.
Her request made me open a smile amid tears.
It was a pleasure taking care of you.
-Don’t be sad, okay? I don’t like to see you sad. The fault was not
your. -You assured her and hugged me.
-I’ll miss you and Diego. -Whispered caressing your hair
curly blondes.
-We’ll be here taking care of you. And we won’t be alone.
-How so? -I asked frowning. She sat on my
front and crossed his legs.
-I met a couple here. The woman is so much like you, aunt, are
iguaizinhas. I said and I felt the tears flow back through my
face.
-Did you know my parents? -Asked moved, she opened a smile
mischievous and nodded. -What are they like? -I asked sitting in front of him, eager for his words.
My parents were there, I needed to know more about them.
-They are like you, so kind. They who received me when I
I got here. your father asked me to give you this.
He handed me a necklace. It was a bluish stone with shades of purple, and
hung by a white gold chain. Something beautiful.
-Did he ask for it?
-This necklace was supposed to be yours. They didn’t have time to give you
everything that happened.
Smiles amid tears, feeling a happiness flood my chest,
It’s been years since I felt that way.
Hopefully, she’ll be safe.
-Oh Mila...
-You were chosen by our ancestors for something great, great
importance for species. There are many things you will discover
with time. I saw your future. -Revealed and I widened my eyes, in
surprise.
-Did you see?
-You’ll have an amazing future if you make the right choice. -Held mine
hands, yours were warm. -But if you make the wrong choice, a
very bad thing will happen. A war will arise and people will
die. Your mother told you to follow your heart, he will take you to
right direction. you’re very special, hayley.
I looked again at the necklace.
-It’s beautiful.
-I guess that’s all they asked me to tell you. My time
finished. -Said making lovely beak and stood up. She cleaned her
dressed and looked at me.
-Be happy Aunt Hayley, you deserve it.
He gave me one last hug and ran away. The sound of his laughter
comforted my heart.
I looked ahead and saw a couple, gasping in surprise. They smiled
openly and had tears in their eyes. I knew who they were,
had passed so many years, but would never forget their faces and
especially the comforting open smile on her lips.
The darkness hit me before I could say anything.
