Hayley Blake
It had been days since I was training Clary. The poor fox was
exhausted and I didn’t leave her alone, I made her miserable every day, but it was
for a good reason.
We lived in a dangerous world, a dangerous time for females
helpless. And thanks to me, my family had a target on their back, it was
my duty to keep them safe and to make sure they’re safe.
In the days following Jackson’s arrival, he had already completed half
of his promises. His men were training my people and
security of the village. They tidied up the whole village and
helped people in what they needed. He and I were
talking very little, but conversations full of barbs and provocations.
His presence made me uneasy.
He had not returned my necklace, but decided not to comment, was
waiting for news from his witch. I wasn’t in the mood for
fights, but Jackson was crossing the line with his protection and
attitudes of stupid and territorial male.
I was never safe, I did not remember the feeling of peace at bedtime
my head on the pillow every night. But I wouldn’t accept that
that dominant male controlled me, he hated letting me go out alone to the forest to hunt, sent his men to watch the forest,
According to the Supreme Court, I needed to ensure my safety.
That he and his men would go to hell. I was not a female
that depended on a male to survive. My wolf was restless
to leave, the lack of freedom was leaving us with a terrible
humour.
We’d get mad about anything and blow up easily.
Tomorrow was the day of our departure. I wasn’t very sure or
confident of going to live with Jackson and his pack, did not trust
completely in it and did not even know what would happen. My jaw
It hurt from the grip on my teeth to try to calm my agitation.
Knowing that the moment to say goodbye to my family was
When I got there, my heart was racing.
-Did something happen? -asked Aiden looking at me. I raised the
look and everyone was staring at me, waiting for my answer.
I couldn’t eat, I wasn’t hungry.
-No.
-Are you sure? You didn’t eat anything-that was enough for me.
-Yes, Aiden, I just need to rest-I threw the fork on the plate and went up
to my room, throwing myself on the bed.
"I want to get out."
Not today.
"You’ve been saying that for five fucking days."
My wolf was screaming furiously in my mind.
I don’t want to turn today, I can’t.
"But I want to leave, don’t you understand that yet?"
Your problem, I said not today.
She didn’t answer me, but I could feel her fury
that also
made me angry. I got up from the bed and went to the window, lifting the
glass.
I put my legs out and sat on it. The night was cold, doing
my skin shivers at the time. The moon was waning and the sky was
full of stars, forming a beautiful landscape. The smell of the woods me
invaded and my wolf howled inside me.
If I take a walk in the woods, will you forgive me?
"Maybe."
I pushed forward and jumped out the window. I fell down on the floor and looked
to the sides making sure no one was watching me.
Since now I had wolves watching the night and Jackson hated that I was to forest alone. I ran to the forest quickly without making noise
and as I was entering it, I heard a voice that made me freeze in
place.
Where do you think you’re going?
I relaxed when I realized it wasn’t Jackson’s voice, or we’d start
a fight right there.
I turned around and saw Jackson’s beta, the wolf was called Isaac Hadley and it was
so faithful to his Alpha that he was annoying. A loyal pet dog
attached to a leash to its mediocre owner.
-I’ll take a walk in the forest-I said crossing my arms. -Some
problem? -I lifted the chin, facing.
-You know the Alpha forbade you to go out alone-he said and I lifted a
eyebrow, facing him with fun for his boldness.
-And what makes you think that I will obey? -I asked between teeth,
feeling the indignation go to my head when I don’t see him walk away.
-I don’t know her right, Hayley-said approaching and I strained
my eyes. -Jackson is the Supreme and still is his companion-I rolled the
eyes.
-That makes no difference. You should know that I’m not a female
Accepting orders, I beta-declared and turned towards the forest, intending to enter in order to breathe fresh air.
-Whatever. I can’t let you into the forest-stated me doing
stop and stare, surprised by his boldness.
"Who does he think he is to boss us around? Lost track of
danger?"
-Are you really thinking about bossing me around? Prevent
my wolf to leave? it’s suicide! -my voice sounded indignant. -And you are not
able to stop me, wolf, would slit your throat before you dared me
touch. No one would be able to contain me.
The powerful presence of a certain wolf made me shudder.
I wouldn’t be so sure if I were you, wild wolf.
I knew that damn voice hoarse and powerful, and that smell
delicious. I found Jackson walking towards us with the
hands in the pants pocket, the bastard was gorgeous doing absolutely
nothing.
I clenched my teeth with irritation.
-That’s all I lacked-murmured between teeth. -How did you know I was here? -I asked looking.
He looked at Isaac and I followed his gaze. The beta lifted his phone and smiled, my wolf growled.
-You’ll wish you hadn’t done that-threatened my Alpha voice. He
moved away stunned by my dominance, but that did not me
stopped. -Did not touch-rosnei when Jackson touched my arm, me
I let go of him and started marching into the woods.
Hayley! I heard Jackson calling me.
-Leave me alone-roar quickening my feet. I walked without direction, only
wanted to cool off. The walk should calm me down, but Jackson
was making it impossible, only his presence was enough
to annoy me, his breathing bothered me.
Why do you seem willing to rip my head off?
I tried to ignore his presence, pretend he didn’t exist. I wanted to
desperately that he would disappear, before I would explode and
If I lost control, it would be too late to turn back.
-I’m trying to protect you, why are you so angry like that? -he
asked making me stop abruptly, my blood boiled,
bubbling in my veins.
-Protecting? -I spit, incredulous.
-Yes, I am fulfilling the promise I made to you. Safety and security,
remember?
I moved towards him and grabbed his shirt, pushing him hard
to the nearest tree and growled in his face, seeing the surprise hit your pretty face.
You made me a prisoner in my own home, you moron.
I’m wild, Jackson, when you’ll realize you leave me
out of control when you’re trying to contain me?
My chest went up and down because of my panting breath, I
gasped in his face, red with rage and rage. I realized we were
too close. I let him go and tried to stay away from killing him, but
Jackson was too fast and held my waist, pulling me and me
pressing against the same tree.
-What do you think you’re doing? -I tried to slap you, uncomfortable with
your approach. -Let me go!
-You’re the one who challenges me and it drives me crazy-your eyes
They were darker than usual, like something was controlling him.
-Did you think you would be a trained dog next to you? For you were wrong,
Supreme grunhi for him.
Her fingers sank into the skin of my waist and I arched the
back, pasting more my body to your involuntarily, reacting
to my wild, primitive instincts.
-Cheeky and petulant wolf-he grunted against my face and I lifted my
chin when facing it.
