The house was quiet. There was no sound, the television that Hayley
both loved watching movies was off, the sound too. The house
was dead without Hayley, empty, just like the one who settled in mine
chest after she’s been taken.
I looked for something good or human that could stop me
succumb, but only found hatred, savagery and fury. I did not find myself
I remembered perfectly what I had done last night, I had only
glimpses of my claws tearing the throat of some males
I found at Nick’s house, the stray who took Hayley.
Innocent or not, they were all dead and my body was covered in
blood. I didn’t change clothes when I came home, I had no reason,
I wanted to look at that blood and remember what it was all about.
I’d be able to burn the world just to bring my little wolf
back home.
I fought until the last moment to keep Hayley safe, did everything to
my reach to help her, but Hayley made the choice that could
destroy, destroy us. I felt the bitter taste of disappointment in my
tongue, she lied to me, deceived me and nothing of what we live
seemed to matter to her as she threw herself into the den of the wolves they wanted
devour it.
Hayley knew how much my sister’s death destroyed me,
especially the way she was tortured to death by
who wanted revenge on me, my domain. Hayley
knew the depth of those scars I carried, I opened
my heart and stripped my soul for her, and she chose to leave me.
Everything was silent inside me. After letting the beast
inside me come out and hunt, all my human side was forgotten
and had not yet returned. The bloodthirsty beast of the Alpha Supreme yet
controlled my body, did not try to expel it, it was easier to deal with the
fact that the strays had taken my partner.
It infuriated me to think that she might be being tortured or raped, knew that Hayley could never recover, and I would never forgive myself for not having
prevented her from being taken.
I turned the bottle of whiskey in my mouth and swallowed a long amount
of the drink, the bottle glass was dirty from the blood impregnated in
my hands, looked at the small mirror on the wall of the office and saw
my reflection, a frightening image stared me back. My face
was dirty with blood spatter, my eyes were red
intense, the merciless gaze of a furious beast, there was nothing
human in me at that moment.
Hayley became my anchor, the reason that made me lucid in
moments of controllability. She became the strength I needed to
fight and not allow that monster to dominate me, but she me
left and all my control disappeared, so I let the beast
took over my body and took away all the pain I felt, gave myself
again to my inner demons.
I threw the whiskey bottle on the wall, it broke into dozens of
pieces. The claws had torn the tips of my fingers, I
used to rip the wolves, blood still covered them, didn’t clean anything, and
I also dared not enter the room I shared with Hayley, not with
its smell impregnated in every piece of that room, me
remembering that she was no longer with me.
I let Lydia be kidnapped, tortured and killed. And now, Hayley, my
daring and genius partner, had also been taken. The blame never me
would abandon.
The door to my office was opened with a kick, I frown, and barely
had time to blink when a blond figure flew over me and me
pushed against the wall hard. I showed the sharp fangs to the
recognize who was the crazy woman who dared attack me.
— Why did you let them take Hayley, you bastard?— Clary yelled at
my face, visibly out of control. But Kitsune wasn’t the only one
unchecked.
I held the arm she pressed on my neck, my claws
scratched her skin, pushed her away from me and Clary was stopped from the
across the office, slammed his back into the wall. It wasn’t mine
intention to hurt her, but wanting to challenge me at that moment
was the wisest decision of the moment.
— Jackson!— I heard Madison’s shrill voice scream at me.
What the hell were they doing in there?
I saw when Clary’s eyes turned into two fireballs
burning, and her inner animal began to manifest, flames
appeared around her body, her fury was directed at me. She
advanced towards me, wanting to attack me, growled at Kitsune,
trying to make her understand that she wouldn’t stand a chance.
— Enough!— Madison sentenced, our bodies were thrown into the walls
from opposite sides, preventing us from starting a war that
would end in the destruction of the house. Madison had her hands held high,
He used his magic to trap us in the wall.
— You meddling little witch, let me sink that male’s head
idiot on the wall— grunted Clary between teeth, glowing eyes
of anger.
— Hayley was taken by the strays, we have no time for this feud
idiot between you two. We need to find Hayley, can you please
not act like animals?
I scraped my claws on the wall, tearing the wallpaper.
— It is his fault!— shot Clary, spitting his fury at me.
I rolled my eyes.
— Hayley was the only one to blame for all this— I replied. — She chose to leave
Let the stray take her.
Her fury faltered, she raised an eyebrow.
— What the hell are you talking about, asshole? Lost your mind?
I looked at the witch and pulled a deep breath.
— Madison, let me go— she said in a restrained voice.
She stuck her nose up.
— Will you calm down or will you still try to attack Clary?
I pointed with my chin at my bloody clothes.
— As you can see, I’m not very much in control at the moment,
advise Kitsune to keep her distance or it will be her blood on
my hands.
Madison swallowed hard, she knew the truth behind mine
words. Madison had seen me out of control a few times,
when the monster was released with all his thirst for blood. When
I had no control.
I felt my body being released from enchantment, Madison too
set Clary free.
— What happened?— she asked between teeth.
— And why is it covered in blood?— asked Madison, squeezing the
lips.
I put the jacket on my body.
— Hayley got one of the kidnapped females to speak, his
name was Victoria, a wounded and injured wolf, but had the courage
to tell Hayley that there was a stray between us and that Hayley
was the primary target.
Madison sat on one of the chairs, Clary continued next to
wall with crossed arms, its feature hardened to hear that
history.
— Victoria was found dead in the river a week ago, all
thought she’d taken her own life, but Hayley found out
that she was killed by the stray named Nick, he took her.
— How did he do that?— asked Clary.
I contained a grunt.
— It was all part of Hayley’s plan, she knew who he was.
— And did nothing?— asked Madison.
— Hayley let Nick take her, so she could find the lair
of the strays, where they keep the kidnapped females. She left
Being taken to destroy them from within was completely stupid.
Clary cursed, taking her hands to her face. Madison denied with her head,
like I didn’t believe what I heard.
— They will finish her— said Madison, throat swaying. — No
we can let that happen.
— Hayley and his sacrificial bullshit— said Clary, rolling her eyes.
— I did everything to protect her, but Hayley preferred to act alone— I said.
Madison got up from the chair and came to me, touching my shoulder
carefully and tried to give me a reassuring look.
— We’ll find it, I’ve got an idea, but I need Aiden, and more
some little things too.
— What are you planning, little witch?— asked Clary, frowning at
eyebrows.
— Aiden and Hayley are brothers, they share the same blood. I can
use Aiden’s blood in a spell to find the location of
Hayley.
My throat closed up.
— We’ve tried that many times, Madison— murmured, without many
hopes.
— never with someone who shared the same blood with the victim,
can work— suggested. — Do not lose hope, Jack, we will
find Hayley.
— And I’ll smack her in the face when I find her for that stupidity—
added Clary.

Hayley Blake
I had already awakened the senses a few minutes ago when I felt
approach of a cold being. I kept quiet, silent, trying
clear my messy mind. Something cold was thrown and I jumped in
chair that was chained, my eyelids weighed and a pain
unbearable dominated my whole body. I blinked a few times to myself
accustom to the directed light on my face, almost blinding my
eyes.
