Amanda was seething with anger as she stormed into Miranda's private chambers, interrupting the lavish pampering session the Alpha was receiving. The scent of rose petals and lavender filled the air, but Amanda barely registered it as she confronted Miranda who had imprisoned her daughter.
"What do you want, Amanda?" Miranda sneered, her eyes narrowing.
"I want my daughter back," Amanda spat, her fists clenched at her sides. "Why have you locked her up? What crime did she commit?"
Miranda's lips twisted into a cruel smile. "Your daughter set free her husband, Blake. She broke pack law and must face the consequences."
Amanda's eyes widened in shock. "Blake? But he's dead!"
Miranda shrugged. "He's not dead, just imprisoned. And your daughter helped him escape."
Amanda's heart sank. She had no idea that Leah was involved in Blake's escape. But she couldn't just stand by and let her daughter suffer for it. "Please, Miranda, I beg of you. Set her free. She's just a young girl who made a mistake. Think about all my loyalty towards you."
Miranda laughed bitterly. "You think I'll just let her go? That I'll go easy on her because she's your daughter? Think again, Amanda. Your daughter will face the same punishment as any other pack member who breaks the law."
Amanda's eyes narrowed. "Then I'll take matters into my own hands. I cannot watch my daughter suffer. You must release her."
Miranda stood up, her body shaking with anger. "You dare come into my chamber and demand that I release a prisoner? Who do you think you are?"
Amanda stood her ground, not backing down. "I am a mother, who care about her daughter! And I will not let you hurt her."
Miranda let out a fierce growl, and the wolf inside her began to take over. She could feel the power surging through her body, and she couldn't control the urge to attack. Without warning, she lunged at Amanda, ready to sink her teeth into her neck.
But just as she was about to strike, she bit one of her followers instead, who had gotten too close in the commotion. The other followers screamed and ran out of the room, leaving Miranda and Amanda alone with the injured wolf.
Realizing what she had done, Miranda let out a cry of anguish. The wolf inside her had taken over, and she had lost control. The pain was too much to bear, and she slumped to the ground, writhing in agony.
It was then that Miranda realized the true cost of her transformation. Theresa had turned her into a wolf with Blake's blood, but she had no idea what she was getting herself into. The power was too much for her to handle, and she feared that she was starting to go wild.
Amanda used the opportunity and rushed towards the cell where Leah was held. Using her wolf power, she broke off the chain and set Leah free. They both ran out of the Black Bird Wolves pack mansion without being caught. As they were running through the woods, Amanda started perceiving a wolf scent but she couldn't tell whose scent it was. She told Leah to slow down because someone was around, but she couldn't indicate the person because the scent was not familiar.
Leah was scared and asked, "What if it is a Black Bird Wolves member following us?"
Suddenly, they heard someone clapping and both of them turned to look. It was Mia.
Before she could react, Mia emerged from the shadows, a sly smile on her face. "Well, well, well. What do we have here?"
Leah stepped forward, her eyes flashing with anger. "Stay away from us, Mia. We don't want any trouble."
Mia chuckled. "Oh, I don't think you have a choice. You see, I've been waiting for you, Leah. Blake and I are waiting for the response of the task given to you."
Leah's eyes widened in surprise. "Seriously?"
Mia leaned in, her voice low and menacing. "We asked you to gather information for us. And anything you can find out about Miranda, her weaknesses, her secrets, her plans. But seems you're not complying, well, let's just say Blake knows how to make people talk."
Amanda's blood boiled as she listened to Mia's threats. Without hesitation, she reached out and snatched Leah's hand. Tell her to let's leave, but the look on Leah's face shows she is scared. Meaning Mia is telling the truth, her heart sank. It was true. Leah had been working with Blake and Mia, gathering information on Miranda.
Amanda was about to confront Mia when Blake suddenly appeared from the woods. "Hello, Amanda my in-law. Don't you miss me? If you don't, well, I do!"
Amanda glared at him. "What do you want, Blake?"
Blake smiled slyly. "Just a little chat. How did you become an ally of Miranda's, Amanda? I thought you were smarter than that."
Amanda's eyes narrowed. "That's none of your business. Now get out of here before I make you."
Blake chuckled. "Feisty as ever, I see. But mark my words, Amanda. You're playing a dangerous game. Because I am not to be trifled with."
Within a blink of an eye, Blake grabbed Leah by her throat. Amanda felt powerless as Blake held Leah hostage. She knew that he was capable of carrying out his threats, and her wolf power felt useless against him. Mia stood by, grinning as if she was enjoying the whole situation.
Blake gave Amanda an ultimatum: if she wanted Leah to live, she had to tell him everything she knew about Miranda. Amanda felt conflicted. She didn't want to betray Miranda, but she also couldn't let anything happen to Leah.
Amanda tried to reason with him, telling him that she didn't know everything about Miranda, but Blake wasn't buying it. He demanded that she tell him everything she knew or he would kill Leah.
Amanda take a deep breath, and began to speak, telling Blake what she knew about Miranda and her plans. As she spoke, she realized that she was revealing things that Miranda would never have wanted anyone else to know. She felt like she was betraying Miranda again, but she had no other choice.
Blake listened intently, nodding occasionally and asking follow-up questions. When Amanda finished speaking, he released Leah and gave Amanda a sly smile. He had gotten what he wanted. But said they can't leave yet, until he asked them to leave.
