Too Late To Realize Chapter 45

"Oh my gosh, grandma!"

How could Uti not be surprised when she saw her grandmother sitting in a wheelchair being pushed by Mr. Usman, her next-door neighbor? What was wrong with her? Uti felt that her heart was still beating very hard. Because she ran so fast, she was now near her grandmother and Mr. Usman.

"What's wrong, Grandma? Why are you sitting in a wheelchair?" Uti asked, staring at her grandmother with a wide-eyed gaze and mixed emotions. Uti loved her grandmother very much, so she immediately panicked when she saw her sitting in a wheelchair.

There must be something wrong, right? No wonder that after school, Uti felt that the house was quiet. Uti thought she was sleeping in her room. Instead, Uti was surprised by her grandmother's arrival like this. How could Uti not be surprised?

Grandma held Uti's hand while smiling slightly, then spoke, her voice shaking slightly. "I'm fine, Uti, you don't need to worry."

"But you're sitting in a wheelchair, what's wrong?" Because her question had not yet found the right answer, Uti immediately asked again. But she was still silent, making Uti a little annoyed.

"Mr. Usman, what's wrong with you? What's wrong with my grandma?" Uti didn't want to give up, and now she really hoped that the man who came with her grandmother would be able to answer her questions. The girl was really curious.

Uti hoped that nothing too serious was going on at the moment. Uti was still attacked by a growing sense of panic.

"You heard i question, right? How come you are so quiet? Come on, answer, what's wrong with your grandmother, sir?" Unable to stand it, Uti raised her voice, she persisted and didn't stop asking until she got what she wanted.

"Uti, you-"

"Oh, grandma is home." Susan cut off Mr. Usman's unfinished sentence. Uti suddenly came from the grocery store, stepping closer to them to join them.

That meant Mrs. Romlah had finished shopping, and now her mother was free. Uti grunted softly as Mr. Usman's explanation was cut short by Susan's sudden presence, even though Uti had been waiting desperately. Uti couldn't wait to find out what was wrong with her beloved grandmother. Just now, her grandmother had said that she was fine, but Uti didn't immediately believe me. Uti felt that if her grandmother said that, it was to calm her down and prevent her from panicking.

Susan looked at Mr. Usman, then nodded politely and smiled kindly. "Thank you for helping my family, Mr. Usman, I am very indebted. Once again, I am very grateful for your help."

"Ah, Mrs. Susan, take it easy with me." Mr. Usman chuckled and waved his hand, saying, "We are neighbors, we should help each other if there is a need. I am happy if my presence can help."

"Yes, Mr. Usman, do you want to come in first? I made some coffee, would you like some?" Susan offered, feeling bad, of course. This kind-hearted neighbor had helped her a lot. including this time of course.

A shake of the head from Mr. Usman answered everything. "Maybe next time, Mrs. Susan, I just want to go home, it's already late afternoon."

Unable to force her, Uti's mother nodded, of course. "Yes, Mr. Usman."

"Do you want me to help you bring your grandmother into the house?" With his snow-white heart, Mr. Usman again offered to help. Truly a very kind neighbor.

Not wanting to be too much trouble, Susan, of course, refused. It was enough that Mr. Usman helped her. Of course, Susan didn't want to trouble her neighbor even more.

"Ah, no need, Mr. Usman. Just get here, let me take mom inside later. Once again, I want to thank Mr. Usman." Susan bowed her head.

"You're welcome, Mrs. Susan, I'll go home first then."

"Usman, thank you very much, okay?" Grandmother looked up slightly to see the face of Mr. Usman, who had helped her. Grandma wore a warm smile while gently stroking Mr. Usman's arm.

"Yes, grandma, I'm glad I could help. I hope you get well soon. Don't forget to take your medicine. Come on, I'll take my leave first, okay?"

"Yes, Mr. Usman."

The man had already started to back away and stepped away, going to his own house. Uti watched her neighbor leave with questions still hanging over her mind. She could only guess what was really going on at the moment.

"Uti, please help mom bring Grandma inside, okay?"

Uti complied, her head giving a slow nod. However, before she complied with her mother's request, the girl first asked a question.

"What's wrong with Grandma, Mom?"

"Already, you push Grandma's wheelchair into the house first, starting tonight, it's better to go in first, later, mom will explain to you." Susan gave a warning. "Mom wants to close the shop first."

Uti pushed her grandmother's wheelchair slowly and carefully from behind. Uti composed a sentence inside her skull, before finally asking a question. "Is Grandma really okay?" Uti asked carefully.

"You don't need to worry; I'm fine. Nothing serious." Grandma answered in a weak voice, so softly that Uti drew her own conclusions. Grandma didn't seem to want to say anything, at least for now. Uti pressed her lips together, it was best if she kept quiet, Grandma needed to rest, Uti couldn't disturb her. About her question earlier, she could ask Susan later. Uti should let her grandmother recover her body first.

Uti took her grandmother to her room, and then a few seconds later, mom appeared behind Uti, immediately jerked forward to take over Uti's work.

"Come on, mom, Susan, help me get on the bed."

"Susan, I can do it myself." Grandmother tried to refuse as gently as possible.

"No, mom, I'm still weak like this, I can't move much first, let me help you."

Uti, who was still standing behind her mother, immediately asked a question. "Do you want i to help you?"

"There's no need; she can do it herself. You better get some water from the kitchen, can you, Uti?"

"Yes mom, just a moment, okay?"

"Don't be long."

"Okay."

Uti rushed to the kitchen, her feet moving quickly. Uti deftly picked up a glass from the shelf, hurriedly filling it with mineral water that she poured from the teapot. Uti still felt and concluded that her grandmother was not well.

After finishing, Uti turned around to go back to her grandmother's room, but she was now confronted by Omar, who had just returned home and was also in Adam's room. Immediately, Uti glared at Omar, she immediately remembered the incident this afternoon that had shaken his emotions.

"What the hell, Uti? You're so fierce!" said Omar when he saw Uti's unfriendly expression.

Uti let out a long sigh. "I'm going to tell Mom what you did, just you wait! You will be scolded. How could you eat so many snacks at the stall? It's useless for me to ask you for help, you incompetent!" Uti's anger bubbled up again like a leaky faucet.

"I really want to apologize to you later."

Uti waved her hand, having put the matter aside for now. There was a much more important and urgent grandmother issue at the moment. "Never mind, I don't want to discuss this first. You better hurry up and take a shower."

"I really want to take a shower."

"Good, take a quick shower, I want to take a shower too." After finishing her sentence, Uti looked at her younger brother, who was still small, and the girl developed a smile. "Adam, will you come with Omar to take a bath?"

Adam nodded in compliance.

"Omar, take your little brother to the shower too."

"Where's mom?" Adam asked later. The five-year-old boy raised his head to look at his sister's face, demanding an answer.

"Mom's in grandma's room, Adam. Just take a shower first, and then when you're done, call me, okay? I can help you put on your clothes. Okay?"

The boy obeyed easily, and Adam rarely argued with Uti. Adam followed what Uti said, making Uti happy that his little brother didn't argue with her.

Then Uti hurried back to her destination.

"It's taking so long, Ti, just getting a drink."

"Yes, Mom, it took a long time. Just now, i told Adam and Omar to take a shower. Here's the water." Uti handed Susan a glass, which her mother quickly took.

"Oh, have they come home from playing?"

"Already, mom, they're taking a bath." Uti explained.

"Hm, good then." Susan's gaze returned to her mother-in-law. "Let me drink first. After that, i will prepare the food, then I'll take my medicine, and then I'll go to bed so that I can recover quickly."

"Do you want i to massage me?" Uti offered to help, to which her grandmother responded with a shake of her head.

"No, I don't want to be massaged."

Uti didn't insist, of course. The next thing Uti did was follow her mother out of her grandmother's room, with Susan stepping quickly back into the kitchen area to prepare the food.

"Mom, now you can ask Grandma why?" Indeed, Uti had been curious about this issue for some time. Uti's gaze didn't leave her mother's face, who seemed to still be busy filling plates with rice and side dishes.

"Mom heard my question, right?" Not getting a response, Uti asked again, this time taking a step closer to her mother.

"Your grandmother fell off the bed." Susan finally answered, her voice not too loud, but Uti could hear her very clearly. It made Uti's eyes immediately round and wide. Uti even held her breath for a moment in her throat.

"Why did that happen, mom?"

"I don't know, suddenly our grandmother screamed from her room, mom was shocked, of course. Then luckily there was Mr. Usman, who had just finished repairing the shorted front electricity, he helped mom, and then Mr. Usman took mom to the health center."

"When did it happen, mom?"

"I think it was an hour before you left school."

"Why didn't you tell me about this right away?"

"I forgot, Uti, I was busy too."

"The important thing is that everything is fine now."

"Yes, you're right. Oh yeah, do you want to eat now?"

"Later, mom, maybe i will eat a bit later, now I'm not too hungry. I want to take a shower first too, I think."

A second after Uti finished, the bathroom door opened, and Omar and Adam came out. Seeing Omar's face, Uti immediately realized something. Therefore, she quickly looked at Susan's face.

"Next time, don't leave the shop to Omar, mom, he'll eat all the snacks there. Instead of making a profit, we lose money." Uti complained about her brother's actions to Susan. The girl looked at Omar with pouting lips.

Omar grinned at his mother, showing his innocent face. "I was sleepy, mom, so I only bought one. Then I was hungry, so I grabbed a snack there."

"You told me you only ate one, but the evidence is that there were three packs. You hid them under the table. You didn't know, did you?" Uti spoke passionately as she folded her arms across her chest. "Instead of apologizing, you ran away to play. Now hurry up and admit your mistake to mom."

"Never mind, don't make a fuss." Susan tried to break it up.

In her place, Uti scowled. "Mom, don't underestimate this problem, Omar will get into the habit of eating your merchandise. You lose more money later." Uti's gaze shifted to Omar again. "And now, you better apologize to mom, and promise not to repeat the same mistake."

Susan secretly published a not-so-subtle smile. She felt both happy and proud that Uti was educating her younger siblings in such a firm manner. Omar was wrong, and Uti was trying to steer him to the right path.

Omar seemed to immediately comply with Uti's words. The boy walked over to Susan. "Mom, forgive me, okay? I promise not to eat the snacks that are sold again. If I want to, I'll talk to mom first."

Susan nodded as she gently ruffled the top of her son's head, "Yes, i see."

"Thanks mom."

"Yes, you better eat quickly."

"Ready mom!" The boy showed his big grin.

Uti sighed heavily, "It's a good thing I'm nice to you, if not, you'd be finished, Mar."

Omar scowled, not wanting to answer his sister's jibe, and the elementary school boy walked past Uti. Uti herself then began to focus on Adam, who was standing nearby.

"I forgot that Adam hasn't changed his clothes yet, let me help you." Uti immediately positioned herself on her knees and began wiping Adam's body with a clean towel.

"I'll get you clothes first, Adam will wait for a while," Susan said quietly as she walked away.

"Did you take a shower?" Little Adam asked the question.

"Not yet, but after this I want to take a shower anyway, so that we both smell like you, huh?"

"Adam, it's better to stay close to me. Don't want to be with Uti, she stinks; she hasn't bathed yet! Hi you slob." Omar, who was sitting on a chair ready to eat, suddenly burst out, which made Uti immediately get angry.

"Hey, what did you just say, hei?!" Uti was furious, and the girl was ready to cosplay as a monster.

Instead of being frightened by his sister's anger, Omar laughed happily. "That's the truth, you fat stinker!"

"You said it once!" This time, Uti's tone of voice actually rose several octaves.
