"This is unacceptable! Having Her Higness marry a woman is one thing, and commoner at that!? Have you lost your mind!?" A vicount was not very happy at Priscilla's announcement of Celia and Veronica's marriage.
"Margravine Dornan is more than capable of being my daughter's spouse. She has the ability turn father heirs for one. And two, she actually earned her title, unlike the rest of us who were born into it." Priscilla spoke through a fake smile.
"Asinine! Are you saying you are welcoming black magic into the royal bloodline!?" A Duke asked.
"Of course not. Margravine Dornan is capable of fathering a child through her natural biology. She is a rather special case."
"She's still a commoner who achieved her status due to your favoritism. The princesses may favor her, but that does not mean she deserves any title higher than baroness."
"Pardon me, but she has prevented a second war between us and the Elves, not to mention, I heard that she helped the Kanhawsa clan leader, ensuring that we have an ally, instead of an enemy. That's commendable behavior, worthy of a title higher than even viscount." Another Duke stated, seemingly in favor with Priscilla's decision.
"I agree with Duke Fontaine. Margravine Dornan has done more for this country than many of us have done. At her age, I'm sure we were all still figuring out how to fit into our positions. The young girl faced death multiple times, ensuring the safety of multiple cultures." A Duchess from the southern part of the country added.
"The girl's still just a commoner! We'd be polluting the royal bloodline! It's simply unclean. Amaranth help us if she's actually capable of "fathering" a child."
"Viscount Sutrey, who would you suggest as a better candidate? Hm? Surely not your son, who hasn't the ability to protect my dear daughter. Meanwhile, Margravine Dornan is being professionally trained, and has already exceeded expectations multiple times. Not to mention that she doesn't care for the power being granted to her. So, pray tell, who would be a better candidate than a woman who knows right from wrong, is professionally trained, knows of the woes of our people, and is caring?"
The Viscount only stared at Priscilla with rage, but he spoke no more.
"With that said, is there anything else anyone wishes to speak of before we adjourn this holding?"
"Yes, Your Majesty." Duke Fontaine raised his hand. "My territory seems to have a beast problem. While my knights can handle what we have just fine, there have been reports of something larger."
"Larger? I see... we shall continue this in private at a later date. Anyone else?" Priscilla wondered, passing her eyes over the rest of the nobles. "No? Then this meeting has been adjourned. Please travel safe. And of course, you are all invited to my daughter's wedding within the coming month."
All the nobles left the room, leaving Priscilla alone.
"Hah..." She sighed, slumping into her chair. "Just one more month... I wonder..." She said to herself before getting up and leaving.
She wandered her halls mindlessly. The main hall, the dining room, she just kept wandering. Though, when she opened a door, she something that she really wanted.
"Veronica!"
"Your Majesty? What can I do for you?"
With the speed of a large cat, Priscilla pounced on top of Veronica, not for lewd purposes, but just laid her head on Veronica's lap.
"Oh my. Hard at work, Priscilla?" Veronica giggled, brushing her fingers through the Queen's hair.
"Some of them really don't like that you're marrying Celia."
"I wouldn't doubt. After all, not too long ago, I was just a sickly girl from a small backwater village."
"And now you're a Margravine marrying at least the entire royal family."
"We haven't discussed that part yet. Though, I don't think I'd be able to say no."
The two giggled as if they were both young girls.
"It feels nice being treated like I'm younger. I thought I would've loved being an adult. I hated it the entire time. Only Celia and Eleanora brought me any true happiness."
"Well, I'm here now. And so is Cass, Avi, and whoever else you want to interact with."
"That's true... How were your studies?"
"I managed. Hated it, got brainwashed for a few hours, stepped on Celia and Elly's feet a couple of times... You know, the usual."
"Hah! So, what are your plans after marriage?"
"I'm going to... Actually, I'll tell you later. It's... a lot to take in."
"Mhm... I see... are any if the other girls expecting you anytime soon?"
"No, not really. Cass is in the library, studying. Surprisingly. Elly is with Avi, don't know exactly why, but they said they wouldn't be back for at least another two hours."
"Then it gives us enough time to just lay here."
"Yeah, it does."
The two gave a small giggle before sharing a short and sweet kiss, resting for the rest if the day.
