Unsavory Redemption Chapter 43

Rebecca POV:-

"Rebecca, I want to become your unsavory redemption."

My heart flutters in happiness, tears of content for the first time in my life, brimmed in my eyes, my heart felt the serenity I thought I lost years ago.

“Really?” A wave of tranquility rushed in me. I don't know when and how this happened but it's mesmerizing, something I thought will never be bestowed upon me.

“Yes. I will.” He smiled and my heart began to desire him. All my sorrows washed away and my eyes teared up in happiness ever since he came to my life.

“I can’t bear it anymore.” He became my desire, my identification. Someone who made me feel that I have a life and I also deserve to smile.

“I want to return your life.” When he said it, My life, my heart became his and I found myself losing in it.

“It feels so surreal, you sound like a morning I lost hope of receiving.” I chuckled sorrowfully.

Ryan wiped my tears with his thumb and pulled away.

I smiled and let out a chuckle again and said sincerely, "Thank you, Ryan."

“Enough with the thanks.” He smiled in return and gave me a side hug.

"Wanna have dinner outside?" He asked sweetly.

"Sounds lovely. I'll get ready." I said and turned to the closet. He leaned on the wall and looked at me with a mischievous smirk, hands closed at his chest.

"What?" I asked in confusion. He shook his head no and continued to watch me intensely which made my heart race..

I took out a green dress embroidered with black beads and matching shoes with it. I turned to look at Ryan.

Signaling to him to go out so that I can change but didn't take a hint as I sighed, "Ryan, I need to change."

"Then change, I am not stopping you." He shrugged his shoulders. I narrowed my eyes at him and he laughed and put his hands in the air and left.

“Okay, okay, I am leaving.”

I changed and smiled when I looked at my reflection. I then looked at the bangles on my hand, I wanted to look pretty for him, bewitching, all for him.

“Hey, how do I look?” I asked, showing him, spinning around with a giggle.

“The prettiest.” He chuckled, pulling me closer and we went to have dinner.

We were having dinner in silence but then Ryan spoke up.

"Rebecca, I am going to Paris for a business meeting and I want you to stay at my parent's home while I am gone." And it vanished my felicity.

"You don't have to bother, Ryan. I can stay at home." I tried to reason.

I know how we got married and I can understand how much his parents hate me, they will not bear me even for a second and if he is not here.

“It will only make the matter worse, you know they resent me. I can stay alone.” I mumbled, looking away.

"You can't, Rebecca. I know what you are thinking, don't worry, no one will degrade you." He assured me.

“Believe me.” He put his hand over mine and gave it a squeeze. I smiled and lowered my head shyly, placing all my faith in him.

‘How can I be so lucky to have him?’

"We will leave tomorrow." He said as I nodded while tugging a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"When are you leaving?" I asked, deep down praying for him to stay and not leave me alone.

"Next week." He hummed, taking a bite of his food.

"And when will you return?" I asked again.

"A few days."

"Okay. Do let me know the exact date, okay?" I said innocently, utterly against the idea of him leaving me but I have it.

“Sure, sure.” He chuckled as we then continued our dinner.

“Don’t vex, my parents won’t eat you.”

Ryan gave my hand a gentle squeeze as I felt slightly nervous, my heart skipped a beat as I felt like I am a guy who is coming to his girlfriend's house to meet her parents.

“I can feel their anger and hatred even before meeting them.” I whispered, pulling my hand away, growing anxious.

"It's okay. I am here. Don’t let anyone hurt you." He said, assuring me but it didn't give me any consolation.

"For two day. Can’t you stay with me?" I frowned, displeased with the idea.

“I understand your concern but I can’t. And I’d be extremely worried about you if I leave you alone, Rebecca. It won’t let me focus.” He sighed, explaining the effect I left on him.

“That is another matter, you want me to intoxicate my mind and refrain me from working.” He chuckled, teasing me but it only enhanced my perturbation.

“Come on, Ryan.” I whined, pouting at him but he smiled, patting my shoulder.

“Okay, okay, just take a deep breath and be yourself.” He advised tenderly to which I nodded vaguely.

"Also, Rebecca, No matter what happens, you will not retort back to Mom, you have to bear it, okay?" he said hesitantly, hoping I will understand.

"You love her a lot, don't you?" I asked, arching a brow with my arms folded. Definitely seeing the contrary in my mind.

"More than anyone. That's why please don't do anything that will make Mom angry." He said, desperately and I swear if I will remain silent then it would be for him.

‘I could do anything for him. He is my redemption after all’

“Please? For me?” I bit my cheek, feeling slightly disheartened. I guess it's natural to be on bad terms with your mother in law.

I don't know why but I felt jealous. I swallowed the lump in my throat and put my hand over his and smiled faintly and said persuasively.

"Don't worry. I will refrain myself just for you… besides, you are the only one who has seen me like this, or else you know how much of a faker I am." I chuckled, shaking my head.

"I also don't want those facades to exist for me either."

He put my hand close to him and kissed them. “You can be yourself with me.”

Winking, he provided an immense serenity to my heart with his words.

“I know.” I shyly murmured, looking away and got out with him standing beside me.
