Banished for your crimes, you are quite relieved that no particular punishment was devised for women. Men, on the other hand, suffered the shaving of their beards: for them, it was the worst of punishments. Although some women occasionally had thick facial fluff, it was of no consequence, and shaving it had no impact on their lives.
You could have gone to another community of your people to start your life anew. Since women represented only a third of the dwarven population, most communities didn't ask too many questions about an immigrant's past, happy to balance their population a little more.
