A grand corridor supported by imposing columns seems to lead to a significant source of light: the outside world. You have no reason to leave for the moment. Multiple arrow slits illuminate the corridors you are in, and you assume that the Dwarves' ingenious mirroring devices, concealed between the ancient stone walls, still allow light to penetrate to the deepest galleries beneath the mountain.
