As I walked out with Hinn Carlos, I turned around to see Robin leave with Ryan, I looked up at Hinn’s face to see him smirking and for a moment I wanted to ignore it, but then I couldn’t.
I halted in my step and looked at Hinn Carlos as I left his hands. “I think you are alright,” I told him and for a moment he was speechless and Kate was right behind me watching.
“Ivana…”
“Don’t you think you are being so mean and insensitive to Robin, you shouldn’t always use his past against him, you should be his friend and not an enemy Hinn.” I spit the words out, not minding if Kate was here watching us with the looks of what-the-heck-are-you-saying-Ivana.
Hinn scoffed and put his hands into his pocket. “You act like you know Robin’s past, Ivana,” I was mute as I listened to him. “Don’t tell me you do because you live in his house.” Hinn shook his head. “I have told you this and I am sure Robin has said it to you too, do not get attached to him, you may end up hurt.”
“Don’t try to change the topic Hinn,” I feel he was trying to push his guilt away by bringing up my name and feelings I have never thought of. “I just want you to be friends with Robin, that is what he needs now and you should know better since you have a little hint of what he is going through.”
Hinn chuckled lightly. “Have you tried being friends with him?” Hinn asked sarcastically. “Oh Ivana, come one, don’t tell me that what Robin told me is true, don’t tell me more things are going on in that mansion that I have no idea about.”
I furrowed my brows. What was Hinn Carlos implying now? I wonder what he was thinking in that head of his.
“Don’t tell me you have talked to Robin so much and now started having some feelings for him, you should stop it before it goes any further, whereas I am your boyfriend and I am not ready to share you with someone with a dark past.”
I curled my hands into fists, if I had great strength I would have been punching him on his face right now.
“Robin loves you, I know about that, but have you stopped to wonder why he didn’t tell you about his feelings for you?” Hinn raised his brows as he smiled. “No, it didn’t start there…” I paused. “His feelings started after he discovered who you were…”
“What are you talking about Hinn, I told you not to change the topic right now…”
“Why not?” Hinn Carlos raised his brows and smirked. “I thought you are interested to know, I want to say it out loud, perhaps it will make you wake up.”
I was angry at him right now. I thought Hinn was someone calm and more friendly, someone, who was kind, but this was different which makes me wonder if I had accepted his confession so quickly without finding out more about him.
I must have been so amazed by his popularity and music that I said yes so soon to be his girlfriend, now how am I different from those girls that flirt around with many celebrities. Hinn Carlos' music has truly fooled my heart into believing I love him.
“Hinn Carlos, stop it,” Kate said in a loud voice as she stepped close to me, I can see that she is quite offended by what Hinn was saying. “I also noticed what you did out there and I was glad that Robin punched you across the face.” Kate glared at him and I looked at her.
“Kate, don't tell me you have feelings for Robin, you better not.” Hinn chuckled. “The person Robin has feelings for but can’t hold onto is Ivana and not you.”
“I didn’t say I was going to tell him about it,” Kate said with a clenched jaw.
“You shouldn’t, Ivana is the girl in his past.” I blinked when I heard what Hinn Carlos had said. “His feelings for you and treating you a bit cold and nice all started after he discovered you are some little girl he met in his villa years back.”
“What are you saying, Hinn?” I raised my brows, I could figure out what he was saying but I didn’t want to believe it is true, I didn’t want to believe that little boy who has first told me I was pretty, that boy who I have said a wish at the Namsan tower that night to meet again was Robin.
Kate looked at me and I stared at her in a daze. I didn't want to believe Robin knew this all along and still pretend he didn’t know me and act so coldly to me.
“Yes, he knows, he told me about it in the State when we were talking about some girls that were always trying to make him love them, I can remember Robin say he doesn’t love any of them and he didn’t find any pretty apart from a girl he met here in the outskirt of town.”
Hinn smiled. “It didn’t end there, he told me it was you when he arrived at this school and found out about it, that is when I picked interest in you, by the way, it was the first time Robin has ever admired a girl and I wanted to know what is so special about you and I discovered it, so I made you my girlfriend.”
My head was spinning right now, I wanted to believe all these to be true, I was the person, Robin was the kid, Hinn confessed to me not because he loves me…
“Aren’t you being too cruel Hinn Carlos?” Kate shouted at him as she held my hands.
“No, I am not yet done with my story, I wanted Robin to tell you he loves you but he cowered in fear because he is pathetic and can’t get past his fears so he told me to make you mine instead.” Hinn raised his voice this time and I gazed into his eyes.
“What offended me is, I began to fall in love with you and he came over to me to make a bet, do you think I would let him have you? No Ivana, because I love you and don’t want to see you get hurt, so don’t dream of going to Robin.” Hinn said with gritted teeth. “I will keep reminding Robin of his past until he gets you out of his head and heart.” Hinn turned around and walked over.
Tears filled my eyes, I couldn’t tell why I was suddenly crying, I could see Kate’s lips moving but I couldn’t hear what she was saying, the fact was all around where I stood suddenly fell silent.
If this is what love is, I want it to go away…
I pulled my hands from Kate’s. “I have to find Robin,” I told her and ran off, I could hear Kate call out my name but I didn’t answer, I didn’t stop, I just kept running.
Robin was suffering. I didn’t want to feel pity for him, but just once, I wanted to give him a warm embrace and tell him to let go of his fears even if I knew nothing about it.
