Chapter Eighty-Seven – Fainted.
Rihanna’s POV
I dodged Logan’s punch and landed one on his face. I staggered getting a hit in my sides but I quickly recovered.
He kicked a rock at me but using my barrier, I sent it flying back to him. It went straight to the middle of his eyes and he groaned.
With his envision impaired, I grabbed the plank again and used all my strength to hit it on his right arm.
It shattered on him, and a piece went to my eyes. I fell, back to the ground. “There, I broke that arm.”
With Lana’s vision, I saw the arm disconnected from it’s source. And it’d take days or a week to heal as it was an internal injury.
His cries of pain and agony, delighted my anguished body. I felt like I was healing fast.
“It is time to kill you now, Logan!” but I had no strength to. All had been drained from me.
My legs moved but that was all they could do, they couldn’t lift me up.
“Or you can kill yourself if you’re too ashamed a girl will do it.” I suggested instead.
His cries increased, perhaps in realization. I tried to reach out to Lana for help but she was exhausted.
I let out a helpless howl in the forest.
The birds in the trees flew away but none came to my aid. “I will kill you, Logan!”
I had to keep repeating those words and hope Lana had any more strength to share with me. I felt power surging inside me but none to use.
Logan began leaving, finally giving up. I was glad but also distraught. He didn’t have to live for another fight, I didn’t want that.
At the same time, I felt a familiar energy coming towards me. It was still far away.
“Logan, stay there!” I ordered, sitting up from the ground. But he kept walking away till he was finally gone.
I fell back, a scent hitting my nose. Tears streamed down my eyes, both of anger, pain and happiness.
“Logan, I said stay there.” I whispered to the air.
Footsteps were nearer, Lana could pick that up. And the scent of the person was clearer, making me smile.
“Ray, come get me.” I said to my brother in mind link. He was the one closer, I felt it.
“Rih, I’m coming. Are you okay?” he replied but then I had a black out, though it felt like my body just switched off.
My mind, consciousness, and wolf were still alert, protecting my body from exterior forces. I didn’t know I could do that.
If Lana was that powerful then maybe I was the one stopping her from breaking rank.
And what if Logan’s right, and I didn’t deserve to be the silver wolf?
“You’re weak and second guessing yourself, I’d forgive that. But shut the hell up!” Lana yelled.
It was relieving that she didn’t think so. My body got touched by a warm hand, it was Ray. He found me.
“Rih, Rih, are you okay?” he called. I was picked up then held my strong arms. But he didn’t move. I felt and heard everything.
Then I heard. “Why’s she here? Rogues?” It was Cara, was she serious?
“Rogues will do this to my sister? She must have met the Lycan, ask the men to scan here, find that bastard!” Ray ordered.
Cara scoffed, making me enraged. “If your all powerful sister couldn’t kill the Lycan, how’d your warriors do the same?”
She seriously hated me.
“Oh, they are my warriors now? Cara, don’t get me started? Let them scan this area now!” Ray began moving towards.
I didn’t know where we were going to, but I was sure it was taking long. Silver Pack wasn’t that far or was Ray taking me to Black Rose. Really?
I heard the Black Rose trumpet that showed a visitor arrived. My brother was pretty annoying for taking me all the way to Black Rose.
“Bring the doctor here or I’d take your brains out!” he barked. I was glad to hear a voice after all the run.
“Lana, I’d bail. I’m getting tired of being … conscious.” It left my lips and slowly I began losing my consciousness.
The door opened and a wave of excitement ran through me. My mate just walked in. The scent and body jittering hit me in one go.
But my consciousness was leaving me. Ray went far away, he must have left the room as those feelings died again.
“Ray, what happened to her? Could you… Ray! Explain what happened to…” I heard Jaden say but it became unclear.
Was this how coma felt like? It was so sick and I wanted to reclaim my body but there was no strength in it.
My brother left, I didn’t know where to. He left me here and went off to where?
“He sent his mate to find a Lycan, of course, he’d be worried.” Lana reminded.
I mentally rolled my eyes. His mate wasn’t worth it. I couldn’t feel my mate, but I knew someone was cleaning my wounds.
“Two people are in the room.” Lana informed. Perhaps the doctor and Jaden. I heard footsteps pacing about, probably Jaden.
“Alpha, she suffers internal bleeding. Shoulders are badly injured… but she doesn’t have much claw marks. She wasn’t ambushed.”
Those were the words of the doctor.
Who said I was ambushed? Except if you’d add Chris setting me up but nonetheless, I fought fair and square with that Lycan King.
And lost.
“Ray doesn’t want to say what happened. Maybe it’s the Lycan, perhaps he used up the rogues.” Jaden wondered out loud to the doctor.
His tone was full of worry and even if I couldn’t see him, I imagined him frowning.
The doctor touched a wound that made my body react, was I getting my strength back?
“Be gentle there.” I felt Jaden’s warm hand on my legs. “Whatever did this will pay.”
Hell they will, and I didn’t need him paying for me. I’d start with Chris then Logan.
My wounds were neatly dressed five minutes later, the warm hand on my legs remained.
I heard a chair come closer and someone sat on it. “Thank you.” Jaden said to someone.
The door closed. He was alone here. Didn’t he have some Alpha stuff to do?
“Rih, are you feeling okay?” his hand went to my head. I felt goosebumps as his warm and touched my cold forehead.
Why was it that cold? Yeah, the hole in my head. It was dressed but there was a good damage.
“Will you be paralyzed after this?” his voice sounded broken.
Paralyzed? Like unable to move my body?
“Lana, could I get paralyzed after this? I’m supposed to heal.” I asked Lana, fear getting to me.
She didn’t reply quickly and only whimpered. “I have to heal you but I feel so weak to, so maybe, till then, you could be paralyzed.”
What the hell?
Sorry for repeating chapter 86. So i added the two chapters here.
Chapter Eighty-Eight – Impulsive.
Chris’s POV
This was preposterous. When I awoke, there was a scar drawn from my face to my neck. It didn’t burn as much also.
I leapt from the bed, looking at my environment. I passed out the moment I rested on Edwin.
“Where are we? Where’s Your Silver?” I asked my wolf. He seemed disconnected from me, no matter how I tried to reach him.
A female warrior walked in, wearing the Silver Pack uniform which informed me I was at Silver Pack.
Why did Edwin bring me here? Did he and Rihanna let the Lycan get away?
I groaned, getting up, it felt like a heavy wall had fallen on my face. Surely it was more than silver in that water.
“Where’s your Alpha?” I asked the wolfess.
She frowned. “I should ask you, Alpha King. Where’s my Alpha?”
Such guts. And how’d I know where her Alpha was when I just woke up?
Deciding not to engage her, I thought hard on the last thing that I could remember.
The Lycan’s outrageous laughter after saying I read his letter well. Of course I did, and had a good plan to put him in place.
“Fine, where’s Edwin?” I asked the wolfess.
She smiled, folding her arms. “He caused trouble with our lead warrior so she ordered us to lock him up.”
The hell? I advanced towards her but then a memory came to my head. The Lycan saying he wanted to kill the silver wolf.
I froze, turning to the window. The silver wolf was Logan’s target? He never stated that in the letter.
“Release my Delta now! I need to look for your Alpha.” I pointed at the girl and ran downstairs.
Did Your Silver stay back to fight the Lycan? That was impulsive, she’d surely need help.
Getting downstairs, I saw Edwin stooped on the ground. I rushed to him, the corners of his lips where blood stained.
He grunted, seeing me, trying to get up. Did Dara do this? What was wrong with Silver Pack warriors?
“Alpha, Ray is here… he’s mad.” Edwin sighed, holding me to get up. Ray was here and mad?
“He did this to you, why?” I asked Edwin, brushing the blood off his lips.
I heard the door slammed open. It was Ray, and his eyes were flaming orange glaring at me.
Zeke came closer to the surface, he never did that for Ray, but I deemed it as he saw a threat in him. I frowned. “What’s this nonsense?”
He said nothing, pacing around the room, like he was marking me. “Ray, I said what is this? Why did you beat up Edwin?”
“We didn’t leave Rihanna there to die! The Alpha was badly injured and I can’t fight a Lycan by myself!” Edwin yelled at him.
Ray was at my side, I fully faced fully, giving a questioning look on my face.
His eyes dilated seeing my face, he blinked then looked down.
I didn’t know how bad the scar was but I shrugged it off. It’d heal in days, hopefully.
“Your Silver is dead? Or what? We met with the Lycan but I got injured, what else happened?” I came closer to him.
He took steps back. “That’s not an excuse, Edwin. My sister was badly injured and the Lycan wasn’t found!”
Was he responding to me or Edwin?
Edwin came forward to him, with clenched fists. “Well, she’d have run back when the Alpha was hurt but she stayed….”
“Don’t dare use that as an excuse! She isn’t a coward, why would she back away from a fight!” my Beta retorted.
Was he indirectly calling me a coward? I exhaled, trying to get more from the events that happened. No memory was coming.
I knew Ray always had a crazy side whenever it involved his sister, I replied calmly. “Where’s she and the Blue Bloom Princess?”
He raised a brow. “Blue Bloom Princess? Why would I know? I left my sister where I think she’d be safe, Black Rose.”
“Wouldn’t she be safe here..?”
“With you in it?” Ray barked, shutting Edwin up.
It wasn’t Edwin he feared to hurt his sister, but me. He knew Edwin wouldn’t dare. Also, why’d I hurt his sister?
The situation happened suddenly, and Your Silver should have backed away as I was injured. The plan was for us both to take Logan down.
I wondered if Your Silver thought I purposely left her and turned her to bait?
That’d be breaking the treat I signed. As her Alpha King, her protection was important too.
“Ray, we didn’t want to leave her there. How bad is she?” I enquired when he finally sat down.
He glanced at me then back at Edwin. “I left her there and ran back to the forest. I hope she’s good. She couldn’t even move.”
Edwin silently hissed, then asked. “Did she get the Lycan…”
“Is that all you care? There was no dead body close to her so I guess no. But there was blood, which weren’t all hers.” Ray replied.
Wasn’t all hers? Did she bleed? I felt Zeke’s heart dampen. Did she still affect him?
“You weren’t at Black Hills or we both would’ve gone. The Lycan kidnapped the Blue Bloom Princess and asked for me to release her.”
I explained, sitting besides him. He nodded, listening, with a slight frown on his face.
Perhaps Edwin forgot for a split second that the bruise on his lips was caused by Ray. Or he assumed Ray would take his words lightly.
Because his next words were, “Alpha thought since you were hurt by the Lycan last time, your sister would do something more impressive.”
It took time before his words made meaning to me but Ray caught on it and punched him before I could react.
Edwin pushed him back, standing his ground. “What? A silver wolf who was almost beaten to death by a Lycan. What’s her pride for?”
I’d have loved to agree with Edwin, because Your Silver was annoyingly proud and it affected her warriors who had no respect.
But still a Lycan Alpha King was work, and since he meant to kill her, she being alive now meant she was strong enough to withstand.
Also, I wouldn’t support Edwin as it wasn’t in his best interest. Ray could kill him.
“Oh really? You think so, huh?” Ray started with his delusional laughter and his claws reacted to them.
I sped to hold his hand just as he raised them to strike Edwin. My Delta went back stunned that he was about getting killed.
“You forget you’re messing with Ray, right?” I reminded him in his mind link.
He took more steps back then walked away.
I shoved Ray’s hands away with a huff. “You forget you want to strike my Delta, right?”
He dropped his glare on Edwin, looking at his claws like he didn’t know when they reacted. He always worked with his claws not brain.
