Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 17

Megan's POV

The snow melted as Winter gave way to Spring, and the frozen Earth thawed. I spent an increasing amount of time inside in the days leading up to the season change. Either Blaire Jackson and I were watching movies in the living room, or I was enjoying the soothing stillness in my room. When everyone was gone and when Alpha was in his office or heading to Alpha Ryland's pack, I spent extra time exploring the pack home. They were beginning to get closer to our region as their renegade issue became worse. Although they hadn't harmed anybody yet, they were starting to worry people and chased all the prey away.

When I heard faint footsteps and a whimper at my door, I was considering remaining or leaving my safe refuge. When I opened it, I was greeted by a little child with blonde hair and large, tear-filled blue eyes. Her age might be more than five or six. Her nose was rubbed red, and her cheeks were smudged with tears. She was so much like me when I was younger. I knelt and pulled her hair behind her ear so I was at eye level with her.

The question "What's wrong, Sweetheart?" I queried. She brushed away yet another crocodile cry as she sniffled once again.

"The large jerks stole my dolly. They laughed and called me a baby when I attempted to terrify them."I got into this issue in that way. Currently, I am searching for a remote area of the woods for three children. She gripped my hand and cried the whole way down the stairs as I walked downstairs to see the guys playing with her doll. The lads left out the back door with the doll in their hands as soon as they caught sight of the girl and me. The little girl snatched my hand away and followed them, just like I did with the other two. All I saw was a flash of blonde hair through a thicket that surrounded the woodland, so the lads must have gone there.

Their scent trail was obscured when I ducked further into the underbrush and woods by the stench of sewage and wet dogs—rogues. Three helpless children being attacked by rogues in the woods made my stomach turn, and my heart plummeted to my stomach. I sprinted after them.

I initially saw the rouges. They were all arranged in a semicircle and there were six of them. The kids were huddled together in an embrace on the ground, hiding behind a lone brown wolf. Blaire was there. Two rouges had already been murdered by her, and one of the guys was bleeding profusely from his head and arm. They needed to go immediately.

Jason's POV

Paper piled up on my desk as I sat in my office. I had a ton of papers to do, but I was unable to get myself to. I was going crazy with my wolf. He was fidgety, scratching at my head, and complaining. I made an effort to ignore him and put him farther back in my mind, but he kept coming back. The moment my office door burst open, a terrible sensation overcame me. I felt a chill go through my veins, my stomach plummet, my heart creep into my throat, and my face become pale white. I experienced fear, something I had not experienced in a long time. My wolf and I both sensed that something was awry.

Blaire was in the entranceway. Their hair was messy, and blood and filth were all over her face and body. She was panting, very white, and had wide-open eyes as if she had just seen a ghost. Before she had spoken a word, I feared hearing what she would say.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She sputum-ed. She started crying and had tears running down her face. "I tried, I did try to help, but I couldn't." I was shaking in fear as I sat there. I tried, but she persisted, and eventually, she forced me. She was unable to finish her statements or ideas. She sobbed while covering her face with her hands. She cried out while hiccupping and her shoulders trembled.

I forced a hard swallow as I imagined having a frog in my throat. "What? What just happened?" Despite my best efforts, it was clear that I was afraid of the sound of my voice. This is something new for me. She gently exposed her face and turned to face me, but she refused to look me in the eyes.

Saying "I'm sorry." She muttered. I'm very sorry. She inhaled deeply and made an effort to gather herself. She made an effort to shield me. When she finally looked into my eyes, one tear trickled down her face.

Megan, she says.
