Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 78

Megan's POV

I was so taken aback that I had to take a step back before opening the door for him. As in the past, he seemed to be staring at me constantly all the while. Because Jason moved in front of me, I had a little opportunity to gather my thoughts and take a deep breath before continuing.

Jason extended his hand and said, "We appreciate you coming. "I appreciate you inviting me," after he had shaken his hand. His voice was kind and his pitch was low. His eyes shone with pure and genuine happiness.

When Jason led the both of us into the living room, the man who had been sitting in the chair that was directly across from me at the table followed him. At first, there was complete silence among us, yet nobody seemed to be uncomfortable. In an attempt to comprehend whether or not this was really taking place, the sensation appeared more like a feeling of melancholy.

"You are here," I continued to nod as he talked. "I see you."

"I-I never in a million years would have guessed that today would arrive. I've given a lot of thought to what I should say to you and how everything will turn out in the end. Since everything has really started to take place, I have no idea what to do. He admitted defeat.

Why don't you begin from the very beginning while I go fetch some refreshments for the both of us?

Call me if you think you may need me. I won't keep you waiting for long. He told me just before he went into the kitchen. Because he was at a loss for words, neither of us spoke for a little time as he tried to think of anything to say.

We each have our strengths and weaknesses, but Jason has always been the more competent of the two of us. When he first started speaking, he had some difficulty getting his words out.

"He always wanted to come out on top, whether we were in the middle of a workout or just going home. He was competitive like that. If I were to win anything, he would lose his composure, which would be bad for everyone involved. After his most recent meltdown, my father and I came to the realization that it would be in everyone's best interest if we just conceded defeat and let him take first place in any tournament that was still ongoing. Despite the fact that it was safer for everyone, he began to become overconfident and let his ego grow.

When Jason got back, he split the three mugs among themselves. While they drank coffee, he handed me a cup of tea in the middle of the conversation. Dad cracked a smile.

"I can't help but think of her whenever I see you." The things that he said made my heart feel warmer.

When it was my turn to take the role of Alpha, he insisted that he should do it instead. He often bragged about how much better he was than I was. While Jason moved forward, he did not move from his position next to me.

I had already found my match two days after I started my first shift, and it was your mother; however, he never did. Another thing that he saw to be holding him back was the fact that I had something that he did not have access to.

Even though he seemed to be flirting with her and was always bragging about how much better he was than I was, there was no need to be concerned about any of these behaviors. In addition, once I was promoted to Alpha status, he has shown some signs of relaxation. We were all under the impression that he had outgrown his desire for power at that point since things were going so smoothly.

He did something with his hands as he was cleaning his face. He made a motion. He seemed to be worn out and had a look in his eyes that suggested he was broken. My soul ached for Jason, and in response, I desperately gripped his hand.

"He took your mother away from me three months after I learned that she was pregnant with you," she said. I looked for you two everywhere for a whole month, but I came up empty-handed every time.

He removed a message and a bag that contained what seemed to be hair after opening the lid of the box. He handed them to me by extending his arm toward me in a presentation.

Asher returned your mother and you to me around six months after your father had you and your mother hostage. Today marks the day, twenty years ago, when you entered the world.

When I glanced at the letter from the bottom up, I saw that the pages were crumpled and had a rough texture. It was once a bright white color, but over the course of time, it turned into a drab yellow hue.

It's a complete moron. I want to congratulate you.

The furious words were scribbled in a messy hand across the whole piece of paper. It seemed as if the letters had been written in blood due to the smudges on them that had originally been crimson but had now turned an unsightly brown color. My sniffer caught up on a faint odor of iron, which turned me off immediately. I felt queasy and set the paper down, focusing all of my attention on the bag instead. In point of fact, it was stuffed with human hair. Long strands of golden hair were also found entangled in the bloody mess.

"Mom?" When I questioned him, he gave me a nod, and I turned to face him.

"Yes, she is the owner of those things. Both of the items were scented with her perfume. After those last few things, I never saw her again and we lost contact.

I reached across the table and wrapped his hands, which were shaking in mine. I held onto them tightly. When I discovered that they were ice cold to the touch, I was taken aback, to say the least.

"I was there when she passed away. Because of that, I had no doubt that we would cross paths again. However, I was completely unaware of whether or not you were still alive. I prayed to the Moon Goddess and your mother to help me find you so that I could bring you home safely. I never stopped trying to save your life, despite the fact that it was quite unlikely that he would have been able to do so given how young you were at the time.

About three and a half years ago, we were able to locate his hiding spot. It was in a very remote part of the region that people referred to as Alaska. Because there was an excessive number of rouges, there were no packs in that area. He handed me a well-known book with a leather binding that he had just moments before removed from its packaging.

I responded with, "Mom's diary," and carefully grabbed it from him at that moment. The leather, which had been brown, had become yellow, and the pages had grown tarnished and dusty. Even though I could smell an overwhelming combination of dust and mildew, I squeezed the bridge of my nose.

"When I saw that you had written your name in it, it gave me hope that you were still alive," you said. "I saw that you had written your name in it." After the lock was removed, my illegible handwriting could be seen just below that of my mother.

"Didn't all of this revolve around you? Absolutely not. I whispered something as my fingers carefully traced the phrases I had learned that were printed on the paper. The corners of his mouth turned up in a smile.

She carried her notebooks with her at all times and used them to make notes of her ideas and thoughts. She promised that she would never let me read it, so I granted her the privacy that she needed in order to be content. When I came across it, I couldn't help but want to read it. I couldn't help but want to read it. Every particular, every setting, and every second that she detailed is crystal clear in my memory at this present moment. As she read it now, she had the sensation that she was still here with me. He removed one more thing from the container and set it down to the side as he examined the remaining object.

She said, "I figured you'd want to see this," which was followed by a pause.

The last element was a picture frame made of glass that held photographs of varying dimensions. It was a photo of a young man and a young woman smiling, and the young man looked just like my father in the image. The two people who are shown in these photographs both aged throughout the course of time, yet the love that could be seen in their eyes never changed. In the end, I made the decision to hang the largest painting in the center of the room.

There was just a photograph of the lady in question there. The lady shown in the second frame was of a much more advanced age. Even though she wasn't staring directly at the camera, I was still able to notice that she had a beautiful appearance. Her stunning blue eyes and gorgeous blonde hair were the perfect complement to her exquisite skin. Her wide-mouthed smile reveals two white teeth, both of which are mostly straight, with the exception of one that is slightly crooked. Despite the fact that we had never spoken before, I was certain that I knew who she was.

"Mom." I let out a gasp as a tear ran down the stem of the glass. I climbed to my feet, stoned into his chest while gripping his neck, and then he fell to the ground.

I thanked you and said, "Thank you." I shed a tear. I can't express how grateful I am. His own tears followed after mine as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer. He smelled like freshly cut grass and logs that had just been burned. He smelled strongly of longing, isolation, and optimism.

The well-wishes for a "Happy Birthday." I was given a peck on the cheek on the way out.

He was a member of my family.
