AURORA’S POV
When the spinning sensation ended, I found myself in a dark alley. I had forgotten to visualize the place where I wanted to be. As a result, I had teleported to a random location.
Letting out a deep sigh, I walked in the only direction I could see light coming from. It led me to a huge two-storeyed building. The strong pungent stench of alcohol indicated that it was a nightclub. It was a pity I couldn’t drink.
I was about to leave but a blood-curdling scream made me stop dead in my tracks. Venturing inside I saw a young boy of about twelve being bullied by a group of strangers.
The boy’s face was pale and his body was trembling. The man in the center looked at him with distaste and said. “Is this the way a man should behave? If someone tries to pick on you, you should know how to retaliate. Come fight me.”
Was this man addled? How could a young, weak boy stand against his muscular, large form?
The other men started chuckling when they saw the boy crying. My jaws hung open when I saw a ball of fire dance at the man’s fingertips.
The ball of fire hit the boy’s right arm and it started blazing. The boy kept screaming and begging for help but they only laughed and teased.
I couldn’t take it anymore and I created a tiny swirl of water and splashed the boy’s hand with it. The fire was extinguished instantly.
I weaved my way through the crowd and took a protective stance in front of the boy. “Do you monsters have no shame? How can you torture a young boy like this?”
My skin crawled as the man in the center raked his eyes over me. His expression softened slightly when his eyes landed on my abdomen. “I will give you free advice. Leave and never return to this place.
“Fine… but the boy is coming with me.” I spat out and walked out, pulling the boy with me. Since the main entrance was blocked by the men, I dragged him out of the back entrance.
“I think you should leave me here and go…” The boy’s feeble voice sounded, making me halt.
“Why would you want to stay in a place where you are tortured?”
His voice shook as he said, “Believe me you don’t want to mess with my uncle.”
I opened my mouth to speak but out of the corner of my eyes, I saw about fifty men closing on me. Panic gripped my heart. There was no way I could fend so many people at the same time or could I?
I would never know unless I tried. I closed my eyes and drew in all the power I could from within me. With a powerful flick of my hand, I let the waves crash against the men.
All men went flying across the clearing except for one. Magic seemed to not affect him. He grabbed me by my shoulders and whispered, “You should have left while you had the chance. We can’t let a powerful witch like you live… sorry Luv…”
I tried to use magic to attack him again and again but I couldn’t free myself. I even tried teleporting but my magic seemed to have abandoned me. What the F***! had he done?
ASLAN’S POV
I was shocked to see Aurora in Jack’s grip. She was struggling to use her magic but couldn’t. My eyes widened in horror when I saw a tiny needle embedded in her arm.
I looked around helplessly. There was no way I could fight fifty dragon shifters at the same time. Even if tried, I would be violating the law of not attacking council members.
There was only one way to save Aurora… Tyson was going to be beyond furious but I had no choice. That needle had to be pulled out as soon as possible.
“Jack! Leave her right away.” I commanded walking towards them.
“Lord Aslan.” He greeted politely. The other men bowed slightly before raising their heads again.
“Is ignoring the royal command the new norm for you Jack!” I said, glaring at him.
He released Aurora instantly and started ranting, “You don’t know what she did….”
I zoned out and focused on removing the needle from Aurora’s arm. She winced slightly as I finally managed to pull it out.
“What the hell is that Aslan?” She asked rubbing her arm. This enraged all the men present even further. They started shouting in protest.
“Lord! Why did you do that? She is a very powerful witch. She needs to be killed.”
“Yeah! That is the only suitable punishment for her!”
“Did you see how insolent she is? She dared to call Lord Aslan by thy name!”
I raised my hand and commanded, “Since I am here, I will resolve this problem.”
Once the crowd became silent, I asked Aurora to narrate the whole incident. I was suddenly glad that Tyson wasn’t the one who was present here. He would have massacred all of them for torturing the boy.
“I don’t think Aurora violated any rules here. She used her power to stop something that she believed was wrong.”
“What the hell, Aslan! What gave her the power to interfere in the matters of Dragons? She needs to be killed.”
The sounds of ‘Kill Her! Kill Her!” echoed in the clearing.
I would have to do something dramatic to make them stop. Tyson and Aurora were probably going to kill me after this.
I sat on my knee in front of Aurora, placed my right hand on my chest, and asked, “How should they be punished for their insolent behavior, Queen Aurora.”
The moment I uttered those words a hush fell over the crowd. Jack stepped forward and asked in a shaking voice, “What did you just say?”
“Aurora is the Queen of Typhoon! Tyson shared his blood with her.”
Jack’s face turned paler than a ghost and he kneeled to the ground instantly. The others followed the lead and kneeled too.
Aurora tugged at my arms and whispered. “What the hell do you think you are doing?”
Ignoring her question, I jumped to my feet. It was better to leave before anyone got suspicious and decided to pick on us. I drew closer to her and whispered in her ears. “How are you feeling now? Can you teleport us somewhere safe?”
She nodded her head and grabbed my hand. My head spun as we were sucked into a vortex and soon we emerged in a small apartment.
Exhaling deeply, I slumped on the couch and exclaimed, “That was close.”
I raised my head to find Aurora standing with her hands on her hips. F***! Now I had to explain everything to her…
