Bas***d son of an alpha king Chapter 8

Nick's POV

My body felt extremely light, as I navigated through the woods. I was running with Simeon and somehow lost track of where and when I must have left him. But, I know he would send me a message should he get in any sort of trouble.

After running for about an hour or so, I felt pretty warmed up and started reducing my pace. It was dark in the night and since it was our job to guard the pack, we were doing all we could to stay awake. I saw a fallen tree and walked towards it to sit down.

The usual midnight critters sounds were very mild making the pitch woods a little bit scary for a first-timer. The half-moon up in the sky was the only source of light and since it had previously rained heavily, the leaves were wet and the floor dense

“Where are you, Simeon?” I asked through the mind link.

“sweet Jesus, where the hell have you been man? I'm trapped,” he said in a very low tone as if someone was going to read through his thoughts, and if I wasn't paying him my full attention I would probably have missed what he said.

“Ok trapped by who?" I asked while looking around to listen to anywhere I could get some sort of sound from.

“Some stupid rogues,”

“Where are you?”

“close to the human territory on the east side,” he said.

I can't believe Simeon would go there this late in the night. Did I mention that Simeon is already eighteen years old and has a mate? A human mate, actually a married human mate.

Simeon was broken when he found

out that his mate was already in a commitment with another person and all effort to persuade him to go after her fell on deaf ears.

He said he rather not use any form of forcefulness, but the only problem with his decision is that he has never approached her to express his feelings. He just feels it's wrong to claim a woman who has been previously claimed by another man.

I don't pray to be in his position but should I, I would claim my mate without thinking twice about it.

“Simeon, what the hell were you doing there this late?” I asked as I started running my way towards the direction he described.

“well, I wanted to check how she was doing,” he said with a scoff.

“this night? you couldn't wait till morning to do so," I asked teasingly.

“well, let's just say I'm a little impatient, I have missed her a lot”

“and yet you won't talk with her,” I said with a smirk as I soon got to where he was. I could see him being surrounded by four hungry-looking rogues. I thought of ways to distract them without them hurting him first.

“I'm right in front of you,” I said to a frightened-looking Simeon.

“well, I can see you, do you want me to come over for some hug, or are you going to help me get the beast off my back” he groaned behind his clenched teeth.

“hey,” I said across the woods so the rogues can see me. they turned towards my direction and seem to salivate at the thought of adding more food to their table.

“what are you doing, are you not supposed to take them by surprise or something,”  Simeon asked.

“well, since you are a professional at these things, you should go ahead and fight them off yourself," I said sarcastically.

“common man, that was a joke, I was only teasing you," he said which made me bluff out.

“so guys why don't you leave that skinny wolf and come for a real meal,” I said walking towards the onlooking wolves.

“One thing is certain if they don't kill you, I will,” Simeon said, while a mischievous smile played at the side of my lips.

We were about a hundred feet apart and as soon as they were off Simeon, he just disappeared, as I could no longer see him anywhere in sight.

“what does he think of himself,” I heard someone say.

“he must think that his size is equal to strength, only if he knows how many alphas with greater stature that we have slain” another person added

“He sure will make a good meal,” the first person said

I tried looking around to see where the voices were looking from, but the entire place was deserted leaving me with the rogues.

That moment it occurred to me that it was happening again, I was hearing their thoughts and it fucking freaked me out. What is going on, am I going insane or what, I pondered within me.

The rogues were so close to me now with just about twenty-foot space separating us, I was about to run towards them to rip them all apart when I felt my head suddenly heavy from a terrible headache.

It was so bad to the extent of not been to concentrate on anything, my vision was blurry and I soon found myself on the floor holding onto my head and groaning in intense pain. The rogues exchanged evil glances among themselves as they furiously rushed towards me. Even though I tried so hard to put myself together, I just couldn't. In no time they were all on me biting and scratching me with their canines and paws.

I couldn't tell which was more painful, the headache or the rogue's forceful attack on me. I could feel warm blood spilling across my skin and after some time, everything stopped.

It was as if time froze as a new wave of something powerful flowed through my entire body. I felt like I was been charged from an unknown power source, they were electric-like waves rushing through all the veins in my body.

The headache was suddenly gone and I felt different, the rogue's bites and fights were like nothing to me. I felt no pain, and then as if my body developed its mind, I felt an explosive-like vibration go out of my body.

That moment I felt powerful as I stand to my feet and looked around to see that the woods were as bright as daylight, I could see everything in the woods including the tiniest of insects on the broken woods and leaves.

I looked at my bleeding scars to see that they were fast healing up and my eyes directed themselves to the rogues who were scattered about me. The few off me when the vibration went out off my body, and they were holding various parts of their body and groaning in pain.

Then the scene went from clear visuals to all red, instead of seeing them as a whole I was looking at their skeletal frame. Within the twinkle of an eye, I had ripped the bones out of their body with their body littering the floor and my bloody fist dripping with blood.

“Nick, are you alright?” I heard a frightened shaky voice Simeon asked.

I turned to look at him and all I saw was his skeletal structure. "your eyes, they are shinning" he said, and at the same time, I felt my leg give way to the weight of my body.
