Tyler POV:-
I love it when she does those little gestures like this, it makes me feel exhilarated to know that she does sweet little things for me.
My heart felt serene and unbelievably delighted to see her smile upon seeing me off for work or waking me up.
“Ah.. I just love her devotion as my wife. She is the dream I was dying to live and never wake up from.” I murmured to myself.
“Your frenzy towards her was always clear.” Christian nodded as we were at the bar.
“She is the water to my fire, the ending to the never ending cycle of anguish of my life. Argh, Man, I don’t have words to explain.” I grinned, curling my hands in a fist.
To show how I have grasped her in my palm.
“Just make sure to save yourself before it’s too late.” He said, taking a sip of his drink.
“After countless tries, here I am finally being hers and there's nothing in this world which can stop her from being mine. I won’t let anything pull us apart.” I enunciated sternly.
“Just make sure this doesn’t develop into over possessiveness or obsession.” ‘Since when it wasn't?’ I was about to retort but stopped.
She is my fortune written on the lines of my hands from the start, she was my possession given to me by the skies. I am willing to put heavens beneath her feet.
“Hmm, I will try.” I hummed. She doesn't understand for how long and how hard I have been containing myself.
“I have to. For her sake.” I nodded.
“Exactly.” He nodded.
How madly I am in love with her and sometimes I even hope that she doesn't even get to know about it.
“Anyways, I gotta go. Sophie is still dealing with nightmares, I want to be there for her.” He said with a smile.
“It’s hard to recover from such a trauma.” I nodded.
“I hope I can do anything for her. Anything to stop those, it makes me tremble for being so powerless. I want to rip those memories from her very soul.” He whispered, looking down in sadness.
“But, all I could do is to comfort her, assure her that I am here.” He sighed, pressing his teeth together.
“It’s gonna be alright.” I said, patting his back.
“I hope so.” he hummed, taking his keys. “I will see you later. Bye.” I waved in return as he left.
I went home as well only to be greeted by my angelic wife. We had dinner, the day passed by nonchalantly and we went to sleep.
The next day, I took shower and walked out only in my pants because I forgot my shirt outside.
A blush rose to Candice's cheeks when she saw me. She was scarlet, she was trying to look anywhere else other than my body. “T-Tyler?”
Those flushed reactions of hers entice me. By looking at her like this, those urges got the best of me and I have to hold them and take things slowly at her pace.
One step at a time.
“Do you need something?” She asked timidly. She was hugging her sides while looking elsewhere. I walked close to her.
“Yes.” I could feel her loud and rapid heartbeat reaching my ear and letting me know that she is abashed. Her lowered gaze reflected the desire to espy but she couldn't, something inside her didn't let her.
“W-What?” She swallowed hard and finally raised her gaze and met mine. I kept staring deeply into her blue gems, wanting to know what was going through her mind.
“You.” I slowly brought my hand close to her face and cupped her cheek.
“What?” Her lips sealed together, distress glimmered in her eyes. Her heart began to beat fast, a shiver went down my spine as the need to pull her close aroused in me.
“I.. Tyler.. I.” I moved my hand to her neck, I could feel the tingling sensation of her body created by my touch which stirred my mind.
“Hmm? Can’t I?” I was engrossed in her too much; I was drowned in her.
“No, I-I mean.. I.” I leaned in and called her.
"Candice." A soft voice of dismay escaped by her lips. She quickly moved her eyes away from mine, not even looking at my body which somehow disappointed me.
“Hmm?” She was trying to find a reason to get away because she knows she cannot move back. My one touch is enough to stiff her, numbing her.
"My shirt." I whispered, removing my hand.
She finally looked at me and I took a step back. "It's behind you."
She let out a sigh of relief and put her hand over her chest. A smile formed over her lips and she turned and took my shirt and gave it to me.
"Thanks." I said with a smile. I wore my shirt. She helped me to wear my coat.
I rarely wear neckties. I just opened a few buttons of my shirt.
We then sat down to have breakfast.
And how I used to spoil my mood by knowing about work, so much so that sometimes I forget the fact that I have a wife who is not aware of what I do and probably don't even have to know.
She will not like the fact that I am a mafia leader and might even leave me.
Just that dread is stopping me to let her know and get out of this world without her being aware of it.
"Sir." My informer called me as I hummed and he continued.
"Our investor James Morrison is an undercover cop, he is planning to expose us. We immediately stopped all the shipments."
Upon hearing the word 'Cop' Candice stopped eating and shuddered in fear, "C-Cops?" Damn.
"Ah it's nothing, Candice. Just a business rivalry. Don't concern yourself." I said monotonously.
"I see.. " She trailed off and continued to eat.
"And you. After breakfast come and meet me in my studies with everyone." I ordered.
"Y-Yes, Sir." he stuttered.
Candice then left after saying 'Take Care'.
After breakfast, I went to my studies and saw my trusted informers standing in a line. I walked to my desk and leaned in it while closing my arms at my chest, looking at them sternly.
"Was I alone?" My voice came out low but threatening.
"No. Sir."
"Then you should have watched who I am with." I hissed, narrowing my eyes in irk.
"I-I apologize, S-Sir. " He stuttered.
"Do not talk about my work in front of Candice ever again, understood?" I said firmly.
"Yes Sir." They all said at the same time. I shook my head and looked for my phone but it wasn't in my pocket.
I walked out and went to my room, looking for my phone. I was about to enter but then I heard Candice's voice coming outside.
"Tyler is truly a gallant guy and I don't want my marriage to fall apart. Please don't do this. I don't think anyone could make me happy as he is making me." She voice came out desperate and held a glint of anger and tension in it.
I didn't understand what she meant by it but I am happy to know that she doesn't want to pull us apart. I truly don't want to use force to make her.
Anyways, I knew I shouldn't listen to her talks like that so I entered the room.
She gasped when she saw me. Again, terrified and quickly cut her call. It made me suspicious of her but I know it's nothing like Lydia's deed.
I won't make the same mistake twice. I narrowed my eyes a bit but shrugged off my thought because of the look of fright written over her face.
It disheartened me to see this emotion over her face.
I then gave her a bored look and began to look for my phone.
"T-Tyler. D-Did you need s-something?" She asked in a stutter.
"I am looking for my phone. " I replied nonchalantly and picked my phone from the nightstand.
"By the way, who were you talking to?" I asked, turning to her.
"R-Rufus." she replied. I nodded and put my phone in my pocket and was about to leave but when my steps reached the door; I stopped.
“I see.” The last bit of my patience broke and I couldn't take more of her fear anymore. It could be any emotion but not this.
I closed the door and turned to Candice who seemed convulsed by my action. My eyes flicker with extensive and unwanted anger, I gave her a dead serious look and took steady steps towards her.
“Candice. I am done with this.” She opened her mouth to say something but it seems like her voice is stuck in her throat and all she can do is to feel the intimidation I am evoking in her, making her shudder fiercely.
“W-What?” She took a step back as her back hit the wall and I put my hands over the wall. She was shaking in fear and something I cannot fathom.
I leaned in close to her face, feeling her swift breath over my face as I growled,
"I am asking for the last time, Candice. What. Are. You. So. Afraid. Of? What terrors reside in your heart? You weren't like this before." I lowered my gaze and continued in a sad tone.
"Am I that bad?"
