CHAPTER 70
MONTANA'S POV
I startled myself and turned to Aunt Calista. Well, that was unexpected and expected at the same time.
"Let us go," She said as we both left the place. We were finally free and that Lady Scar was dead.
All the while as I took my Aunt Calista back to my hotel. Getting a cab and all that, I kept thinking back to Aria and her betrayal.
Why would she even do a thing like that? I thought we were in this together?
I was so hurt by it all. Months together, months of trust and friendship, and still, she had the heart to betray me and even try to use her magic badly on me.
Some people are just not it.
I sighed.
Aunt Calista patted my thighs, "Sometimes we have to be careful of the people we trust and call friends. I am not saying it is bad to trust, but just be careful."
I rested back on the cab sit and nodded, agreeing with Aunt Calista.
Thank God I had paid for extra months, unless my bags would have been thrown out, I guess.
"Things have really changed around here, since I left", Aunt Calista said as I opened the room door and invited her in.
"It sure has, you have been gone for decades and do not worry, if there is anything strange to you, I will be happy to help you understand," I said with a smile.
I got her comfortable, and she still seemed like she knew her way around most of the things.
I ordered food for us. I ordered things I had been craving the last few weeks.
Moaning and drinking the juice and eating everything I could. I was so happy to finally be eating some real and nice food.
Not saying the food at that cottage was terrible though, but it was just not it.
"How do you like it?", I asked Aunt Calista as I watched her eat her food, tasting different foods.
"Very delicious," she said.
I smiled happily, satisfied. It was good to meet a family member.
After eating and showering, I borrowed her some of my clothes that fitted her very well and we both got into the bed.
We would share, and it was big for both of us, which was my intention when I found her, which I have done.
Mission Accomplished.
"So you said, you knew when I got there?", I brought up that topic again.
"Yes, I just needed some time to wake up and when I sensed your fear and all that, I knew what was going to happen, I knew I was already awake and so it just pushed me more", Aunt Calista answered.
"Why? Why did you put yourself in hibernation?", I asked curiously, and she did say she was going to answer all my questions as long as she had answers to them.
"To give my reason, I will have to finally tell you about your real self and family," she informed me, and I nodded.
"I am ready, I have always been ready," I told her eagerly.
Aunt Calista started her narration, telling me everything about my family.
She said my family was one of the strongest wolf pack in the world and feared by many. They were skilled and powerful.
The royal family, which were my parents and me, were the ones with some special abilities.
"I will talk about the abilities later," she said to me, and I nodded, letting her continue.
She said a lot, and I was actually the only child of my parents.
"Until one day there was an attack", She took a deep breath when she reached this part, "Our pack was betrayed by one of our own. We had this Locket, half of it called the Soul bound Locket and this witch wanted it, she wanted the power, and she was extremely jealous of your mother and your family, and so she plotted with another pack to wipe everyone out and make sure no royal heir remains."
I sat up properly, interrupting my Aunty. I have heard this somewhere, it sounded so family, "This…all these sounds so family, Soul bound Locket, half…. Yes!", my eyes widened and I snapped my finger.
"What is it?", Aunt Calista asked.
"The witch who betrayed my pack, our pack, is there a chance that her name is Elowen?"
"Yes, Elowen, that is her name, so greedy for power", Aunt Calista confirmed, "But how do you know that?"
"Well I think we will have to pause on your story for now," I said and then explained everything to Aunt Calista, "She is dead now though."
"About time because I would have killed her myself", Aunt Calista said, and I could hear the anger and detest from her tone.
So that was where Elowen had gotten the other half of the Soul bound Locket from. That wretched witch.
"But Aunt Calista, where were you when the pack was under attack?"
"That was my biggest regret Montana, I was away, I had something important that came up, and I was away, I could not protect the people I love", Aunt Calista explained. I saw tears threatening to fall, "By the time I got back the whole place was burnt to the ground, no single soul was alive."
I moved closer to her and held her hand, "I was unable to save my sister or her child or anyone, I was so devastated, I was broken, shattered, but then that was when I saw your mother's best friend. She had saved you, I was so relieved, at least you were alive", Aunt Calista sniffed, "she was the one who told me everything, she had been there and had managed to find a good spot to hide you both, protecting you."
Aunt Calista told me how grateful she was to the woman who protected me and all that, "And so because of that pain and the losses I had, even my husband died with your cousin, my baby girl, she was just five, they both were killed. So, I decided to put myself to sleep. It was too much pain Montana, s-so-", she tried to say, but then her voice cracked.
I hugged her tightly and rubbed her back, "I am so sorry Aunty", I could feel her pain as she cried softly. Such a strong woman, broken.
After some minutes, she got herself back, "So that is all about your family."
"I want to ask something, though, Aunty."
"You can ask anything you want, Montana."
I took a deep breath, "What is the name of the pack that joined forces with Elowen and wiped out our family?"
