CHAPTER 69
MONTANA'S POV
Ari stepped out from where she was standing. I could not see her at first, but now I saw her clearly.
I gasped softly, "Aria…how could you?"
"It was for the best, Montana," she said, "I could not let you wake her up or leave this place."
I searched Aria's face, maybe I will see some hurt or regret for betraying me like this, but there was none.
"So all this time you-", my words cut off because it was so difficult to make out what to say, "All this time you let me believe you were on my side?"
"Look, it is over, okay? So stupid, trying to emotionally blackmail me. We both will be dead if not for me," Aria said.
"You sold me out, you bitch", I snarled.
How could she? I thought she was my friend? I trusted her.
"That is enough", Lady Scar ordered, "you will be severely punished Montana and guess what? Vito will be the one to do that, do whatever he wants with you."
I looked at Vito, the lust still clear in his eyes, like he has been in wait for this moment.
"But before I let him take you", Lady Scar raised her hands, "How about a little punishment from me? Hmm?", As she said that, I started choking.
I do not know what she was doing, but she was definitely making it hard for me to breathe.
I fell to the ground, my eyes pleading and begging. The most painful thing I saw was Aria enjoying every of it.
She just-
Ari just stood there, smiling and watching me be in pain, being punished for wanting to find us a way out of this place.
My neck was squeezed more by Lady Scar's magic and I tried to beg her as a tear dropped from my eyes, "P-please", my word came out as a whisper, not even sure if it came out at all.
Before I knew it, her grip had loosened, and I fell, sitting on the floor and catching my breath, while rubbing my neck.
I thought she had pitied me and released me, but when I looked up, Lady Scar seemed to stagger a bit, and then she started screaming as she fell to her knees.
What was happening?
Both Aria and Vito were shocked, "What are you doing to her, Montana," Aria yelled at me and walked towards me.
I thought she was going to use her magic on me. Seeing as she was now working for Lady Scar, her powers might have been unlocked fully.
But as she was about to do that, Aria was thrown to the ceiling, hard. She hit it so hard that when she fell back down to the ground, there was a loud crack.
Her neck had twisted in a bad way and her eyes were wide up, signalling that she was dead.
I gasped and moved backwards.
That is when I saw her.
She walked up to Lady Scar, she was only looking at Lady Scar as Lady Scar was screaming and soon blood was coming out from Lady's Scar's eyes, nose, ear, mouth, everywhere.
The pain must have been excruciating for Lady Scar, but she deserved it.
Vito tried to attack Calista who was in a white gown, but Calista turned her head, she looked so deadly and with a snap of her finger, Vito's head snapped, and he dropped to the ground.
Calista took her time with Lady Scar, making sure she was in pain and in the end, Lady Scar dropped to the floor.
I got up from the ground and Calista turned to me. I wanted to be scared of her, but I could not be. A reason I did not know why.
Calista smiled at me, and immediately I felt something happening in my head, it was like she was showing me things, from when I was little, family, stuff like that.
When it finally ended, I looked up at her as my eyes widened, "You are my aunt."
Why did the journal not say that Calista was my aunty?? My mother's sister? I-
"Come my dear, let us leave, and we can talk about many things," Calista said, and I nodded, following her.
We walked to the front door, the other guards that were coming from behind, my aunty turned around she muttered some words.
The guards fell down and just with a touch of her hand on the front door, it unlocked and opened.
I pushed the front door open and we passed. We did not even close it, I guess the others were free to escape too.
"I was told that the gate would be a tricky spell and might be hard," I informed my aunty as we got closer to the gate.
She smiled, "It is indeed a tricky spell, but not tricky enough to stop us from leaving this place."
I nodded, already trusting her. There was just this connection I felt with her.
As for Aria being dead, as I remembered her wide dead eyes, serves her right for betraying me.
Whatever!
Aunt Calista raised her hands and muttered some words, "Per vetus susurrus, fiat."
I noticed the two skulls on the gate or should I say designed on the gate, on each side, where the back head was facing us, slowly turned, in a way that it was now facing us.
"You know the minute you stepped on this land, I knew you were here, I knew you were the one, my sweet niece", Aunt Calista turned to me with a smile as she rubbed my cheeks.
"I was not hallucinating or making things up, was I?", I asked her, "You were the one, showing me clues, giving me hints that you knew."
She nodded, "Indeed I knew, why would I not? I know you have numerous questions and you my dear will get answers to all of them, as long as I know the answers. I have missed you, she did a good job protecting you."
She? Oh, I think she meant my mum, the one who raised me.
Aunt Calista turned and with the flick of her fingers, the gate burst open!
