CHAPTER 80
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
Never stopped counting how long I lost Montana. Two years since she left and no one has heard about her.
I had asked almost all the packs I knew for any information or whispers, but there was none. It was like she was dead or a ghost.
I never stopped looking for her until the day she walked back into my life.
Like she had told me before that I should not look for her and when she wants to be found she would be.
But I wanted to find her sooner because waiting was so painful.
My warriors at the border had mind linked me, providing me the information that Montana was in the pack, that she had just arrived.
My heart skipped a beat.
I did not believe them, I was not sure. It was morning, and we all were still on the dining having breakfast when I got the news.
"What is wrong, Dad?", Zendaya asked me. The first person to notice the way I paused and looked shocked.
It was when she asked this that everyone's attention turned to me.
"I just got a news, telling me that your mother is back and just arrived," I said as I turned to Zendaya and Zane.
I knew how much they have been waiting for her to return.
"She is back," I said again, but it came out as a whisper. They better not be lying because I will torture then slowly for giving me false hope.
"Well, let us go, what are you waiting for?", My mum shouted, looking all happy.
"Yes", I nodded as I got up, walking out. Coming out from the mansion I spotted a black motorcycle, just from looking at who was riding I knew it was her, even though we have not seen each other of years.
Another black car was right behind her as she stopped and got down. She still had not taken off her helmet, but she was looking at me.
I walked closer, walking to her as she removed her helmet and kept in on her motorcycle. Her curly hair, how I have missed the sight.
She then turned to me, "it's been a minute."
I was speechless, I tried forming some words, but I could not, I just stared at her.
She looked different, changed but in a good way. There was this aura I was getting from her, a strong one.
"Lincoln?", She called out my name. The way it rolled out from her tongue, her voice, I have missed all of it.
"Montana", I got my shit together.
"I suppose you have been well?", she asked.
"I have not," I answered sincerely. I do not know how she expects me to be well when she left me for two whole years, no call, texts, simply nothing.
I thought she would ask why, but she said, "Well, I have been great."
"I am glad to hear that," I said to her. I wanted to embrace her in a tight hug, but I was not sure if that would be a good idea.
It was now I noticed the man who had got down from the car that came with Montana.
"That is Aren, my personal bodyguard," Montana said, as if reading my thoughts.
I was going to respond but, I suppose, Montana was not done talking as she asked another question, "And where is your New Luna? I was expecting someone."
I did not need to be told twice to understand what she meant, "I have been waiting for the one who left me, and now she has returned, I have no new Luna, Montana. It is just you."
MONTANA'S POV
I looked at Lincoln as he told me that he has been waiting for me and had no new Luna.
A part of me was relieved to hear that he had none, while the other part wanted to not care, whether he did or not because we moved on.
I moved on from my feelings for him. Feelings he discarded and dismissed as nothing.
I was going to respond to him, but immediately I spotted my kids, I diverted.
"Mumm!!", the screamed out and for a long time I had not cried but today, the tears dropped so easily and freely as I rushed to them.
"Zane… Zendaya!!!", I also screamed as we engulfed each other in a very tight hug. I rubbed their hair, faces, their scent, "My babies," I cried out.
"Oh thank Moon Goddess," I said as we stayed in that hugs for a long time, uninterrupted.
Finally, we broke the hug and I showered them with kisses all over their faces.
"Mumm…we are too old for that now," Zane said, making a face.
"Speak for yourself," Zendaya said to him, making him and I laugh, "shower me with your kisses' mummy, I have missed them a lot."
"Of course my princess", I gave her more kisses and hugs and soon enough, Zane wanted more too which I, of course, gave to him.
They were now twelve years but still my babies. They are still babies. I chuckled.
Our little reunion went well, and it did not even seem like I was gone for so long. After I was done with them and all, the next person was Victoria.
I received a slap to my face. I deserve that. I know how worried Victoria can be, and I know she understood me, but she must have been dying to give me that slap.
"I am sorry", I muttered softly, and she did not even waste anytime, hugging me.
"Oh, Montana," she said as she cried, and I did too, "I am just so happy that you are alive."
From Victoria where Lincoln's parents and then Beta Sean.
We went into the house with Aren following us of course and I introduced him to everyone.
We were all seated in the living room, Zane and Zendaya seated with me, my arms wrapped around them. Just so happy to be with my babies.
"Do you want to eat something? I can get the cooks to prepare something for you," Lincoln offered.
"Maybe later, thanks," I said, and I also asked Aren and he agreed with me.
Lincoln nodded, there was a little tension between us, but whatever.
Besides that, he asked a question,
"So mind telling us where you have been?"
