CHAPTER 86
MONTANA'S POV
What the hell is wrong with him? I was still in my pretense of being an Omega and weak as everyone knew me to be.
But I have noticed that this period, numerous people are pushing out the other side of me that I am keeping tamed for the moment.
"Let go, right now," I said to him, but he just looked at me like I am a meal he was going to ravish.
I felt like he was eye fucking me, outside, in daytime, in the middle of the road and maybe with Lincoln it would have been sexy but with him, it irritated me and made me uncomfortable.
Plus I have never seen him or imagined him to be this way, "Finn, you are hurting me."
He blinked his eyes and released me.
I immediately rubbed my wrist and arranged my gown.
"I-", he licked his lips and rubbed his hand through his hair, "I apologize, I just could not control myself."
"Control yourself from what exactly?", I asked him angrily, "What was that all about? I do not like it."
"I like you," He said, "Not that like, I really, really like you Montana, it is like I am obsessed with you and I cannot get you out of my mind."
"Slow down Finn."
"And just the thought of you and him, plus I do not even know if I have a chance to having more with you," He said, and I realized it was not fair.
Maybe I had given him mixed feelings that I was interested in him, but I was not, I just needed something to keep my mind off Lincoln with, "You don't," I said plainly.
"I am sorry if I led you on, but I like you as a friend. I like our relationship as friends and nothing more, Finn. I am genuinely sorry, I caused all this confusion", I muttered sincerely.
"No", Finn came closer to me and held my hands in his, "It is not your fault, and it is okay, I understand", he smiled and I offered a small smile.
I was already feeling a bit guilty. I felt like he was hurt by my rejection and now covered it up.
"I am just glad that you told me the truth and I know how you feel. So I do not have to keep chasing after what is already taken."
I nodded, "I really am sorry though, really."
"I know and that is why we will remain friends, do not worry about today or my feelings, I will handle that and come to terms that you are not mine", he rubbed my hands and gave a reassuring smile, "you were never mind to even begin with."
"I guess."
"I should not keep you waiting for long, go home, stay safe," He said to me, walking me to my ride and holding the door open for me to go in.
"Thank you", I smiled at him and got into my ride, "You take care and stay safe too."
"I will", and he shut the door.
My driver drove off and I could see Finn from the back of the car's window, standing there and watching as I left.
I am just glad that he did not push it and understood me. I valued our friendship and do not want anything to jeopardize it.
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
I paced around in my office, "She actually went with him? She actually went with him!", I sipped the drink in my hand, fuming as Sean sat down, watching me quietly.
"Why did she still go out with him?", I asked myself.
"Maybe because according to you, you told her that she can go on her little date and your dramatic walk out, did not seem to do anything," Sean said and then cleared his throat and looked away when I gave him a death glare.
"You are not helping, Sean."
"Relax, they are just friends, right?"
"That is what they call themselves but the way he looks at her, just seems like there is something more, I do not know yet, not fully sure", I took another sip of my drink.
I checked the time and slammed my glass on my desk, "It has been hours and still, she is not back, I feel so uneasy."
"You know if you are going to win her back, you will need to work on yourself and find a way to win her back."
"You literally just said utter nonsense", I looked at Sean like he was a fool because he was, "What you just said, literally did not make any sense and was not even the least helpful for understanding."
"You are a mean and rude person unworthy of advice and more advice," Sean said to defend himself, but he just ended up implicating himself more.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, "If I have a headache, Sean, it will be because of the rubbish you keep spitting out that does not even make sense and my brain is tired of trying and wanting to understand any of it."
"Ungrateful", Sean spat out, and I could not help but crack a smile.
What is even wrong with this best friend of mine? I called him here to help me out, but I really do not know what he is doing besides making things worse.
"Lincoln, you do not need me to tell you how to win Montana back", Sean caught my attention because he was sounding smart, "Deep down, you do know how to win her back, so do it and stop beating yourself up already."
Finally, he said something motivating and meaningful.
"You are right!", I agreed with him.
Sean got up and arranged his shirt, "My work here is done."
He turned to leave, but I stopped him, "Hey, hey, hey…"
"What now?"
"Your work here just began," I told him, "And I need your help with something."
"I know that look," Sean said shaking his head, "Tsk, tsk, whatever you are thinking Lincoln, do not."
"We just started working with Alpha Finn Gerard, right?"
"Yes??", Sean gave me a suspicious stare, "The Alpha who is friends with Montana."
"I am not doing anything bad or whatever you are thinking", I assured Sean.
"I just need you to look into him for me. Get additional information about him."
"Alright I will", Sean accepted and then asked, "Anything else?"
"That is all", I smiled, running one of my fingers along the rim of my glass, "Mm…"
