Covet Me, My Heartless Alpha Chapter 114

“There is wrong to have a mate. They say choosing a mate is less painful than having your mate. Alpha, are you trying to make me change my mind about my perspective now?” Ava twitched her lips while her eyes flickered. She didn't know what she would think that James had been trying to make her believe that she was wrong.

Some Alpha preferred to choose their mate because once their mate died, it would be less painful than the feeling of losing the proper mate.

“It's not like I'm trying; I'm correcting you. I also believe that before I meet you.” James swallowed hard when Ava rolled her eyes on him. He licked his lips and tried to hide the amusement he felt because of her. He couldn't believe he would be like a dog, always waving his tail to his master.

When he met Ava again, he slowly realized that there was no problem about having a mate. Ava was his pair. He was mated with her.

“I also believe it's better to be with my mate, but it changed when I met you, too. Alpha James, it's you who made me change my mind. Did you regret it now?” Ava scoffed, which made James pout his lips. He didn't even know what he would say, especially when he couldn't remove his eyes on Ava.

“You're being mean to me. I'm not your enemy.”

“You are not my ally, either. I don't like to trust someone like you. Man caused headache, so it's better if I do not do something I might regret in the end.” Ava turned her back. She seemed severe, but James didn't notice it. She didn't wait for James to follow her because she decided to return to her pack to report Veronica's decision to their parents.

“Alpha Jaxon!” The guards rushed to Jaxon, who was frowning at them. Veronica hardly breathes out. She closed her eyes because her feet stepped on Jaxon's pack again. The pain of losing Morgan kept haunting her and made her eyes moist.

“Are you okay?” Jaxon asked, which made her pause. She gulped and forced herself to smile at him. She slowly nodded her head.

“I'm fine. I'm exhausted.” She simply answered. Jaxon's eyes flickered. He seemed worried that he pulled Veronica and gave their bags to the guards.

“It's better if we will rest first. I'm sorry if I'm the one who makes you tired, Veronica.” Jaxon's tone was upset. Veronica paused. She was surprised that Jaxon had apologized to her. Her eyes moistened more.

Jaxon was known as heartless. He wasn't the type of man who knew how to apologize whenever he hurt someone. However, since he lost his memories, he was different. He seemed he wasn't the most feared Alpha whenever he acted.

She cleared her throat to prevent herself from getting amazed. She was doing it for the sake of her guilt, nothing more and nothing less. She needed always to remember that she didn't have plans to stay with Jaxon forever, as Luna did. She only wanted to make sure about Morgan.

“You don't need to feel sorry for me. It's not your fault.” She whispered and continued walking. She stopped again when Jaxon held her hand, and his face was in disarray.

“Are you sure that you are alright? Veronica, there's nothing wrong if you become honest with me. I might not remember everything, but I know you are the one for me.” He muttered. She gasped for an instant and pursed her lips to correct Jaxon.

She doesn't like to make him feel that something is wrong between them.

“It's nothing.”

Jaxon seemed not contented by her answer but only removed it from his mind. He only thought that Veronica would tell him about what she felt. He doesn't like forcing her, especially when he sees his saddened eyes.

“Alright,”

When they entered the pack house, Veronica was looking for Uriel, but she didn't see him. It was unnatural that Uriel would leave the pack while Jaxon was away.

“Who are you looking at?” Jaxon asked. His forehead creased, and there was an accusation in his tone. She shook her head before she shrugged her shoulders.

“I'm searching for Uriel. He's your Beta.”

Jaxon groaned and possessively wrapped his arms around her waist before he sniffed her scent. Veronica's mouth parted. She wasn't prepared that Jaxon would do that to her.

“My Beta? Are you close to each other? It seems he's special in your heart.”

Her cheeks flushed. She looked away and tried to push Jaxon away from her, but he didn't even flinch. Jaxon seemed agitated because of what she did and growled with jealousy.

“He's your Beta. I don't see anything wrong that I'm looking for him. He's the one who will help you to know those plans in your schedule.”

“But you didn't answer what I asked you, Veronica. Is he only my Beta?”

“He's your Beta!” She couldn't stop from getting irritated. Jaxon acted like a jealous husband while they didn't have a label!

“When you mentioned his name, you sounded sweet!”

“Jaxon!” She shrieked and gritted her teeth. Jason's lips twitched as he tried to stop himself from smirking.

Veronica widened her eyes as if she were warning him to stop teasing her. If Jaxon hadn't lost his memories, she might have thought that Jaxon already knew that she knew Uriel at first.

She was so young then, and Uriel treated her like his princess. She doesn't think that there was something more with it. When Uriel left their pack, she was sad and hoped that Uriel would have a pleasing life. She hoped that she would meet him and let their paths cross.

“I thought it's me that you like. I don't want my Beta as my rival; it's better if I will change him.” Jaxon spoke. His words made her back in her senses. She couldn't believe that Jaxon would do such a thing because of her.

“You don't need to do that; I don't have a relationship with your Beta.” Veronica rolled her eyes and continued walking inside the pack house.

Jaxon's eyes gleamed, but he tried his best not to uncover his true feelings. He followed Veronica and held her hand.

“Jaxon, what are you doing? Aren't you afraid that you might lose your cool image of yours?”

“I don't care. You are my mate, and we are supposed to be sweet.”

“Jaxon!”

“Why do you affect me whenever you are calling my name? It's weird. I'm having goosebumps, and something between my thighs is getting hard.” Jaxon innocently informed her, making Veronica widen her eyes and swallow in embarrassment.

“You are such a pervert! You might lose your memories, but you are still the one who loves to fuck someone!”

“Is that a good thing?”

”It's not. I'm getting mad at you!"

Veronica flushed. She wasn't innocent because she saw Jaxon's length whenever they did something sexual, but hearing Jaxon's clarity made her want to take advantage of him.

She could still remember what happened to her when she lost her memories. She hoped that Jaxon would experience those shitty.
