Covet Me, My Heartless Alpha Chapter 31

It had been a month since Veronica lost her memories. Within that month, she was always irritated by Jaxon for the way the Alpha was acting. Fortunately, she accepted the truth that she had a son with that man and gradually learned to get along with Morgan.

[At the moment in the kitchen]

Jaxon didn't feel hungry, yet he must eat something. And there was something going on in his head that made him want to escape in Veronica's sight. Since it had been awhile when he last touched her, there his instinct desiring to embrace her everytime his eyes were set on her. However, she was always surrounded by his people, so he couldn’t do that, and it might result in him being hated more by her.

“Shit!” Veronica silently groaned in pain when she fell, and bumped with the edge of the kitchen table after running away. Watching Jaxon taking a stroll to the long table, she felt happy that she avoided him.

"Morgan, we should go back to our room," Veronica said to her son and wandered her eyes around the werewolves who started minding their own business again. After, she quietly and cautiously stepped away from them, feeling her heart a little heavy. "I'm really hungry. But I lost my interest in it because I want to get away from here."

Hearing her, Morgan answered, "Why? Are you not feeling well?"'

She nodded and as she was ready to depart, she instantly stopped because of the loud roar coming from behind her.

“Do you think I paid you to cook this shit for me? Get out! You are all fired.” Along with that booming voice was the echo of dishes and bowls tumbling to the floor and shattering, causing her to be scared. Even without turning around, she could tell the kitchen was in a state of.

Veronica peered at Jaxon who was still enraged with the cooks and servants, turned her head to the fishbowl, and without second thought, grabbed it.

She then let go Morgan's hand and had already marched towards Jaxon. She forced herself a brave demeanor as she watched him still shouting while the omega servants were cleaning his mess. When she was finally in front of him, she took a deep breath and offered, "Do you want to try my fish soup if you don't like those meals?"

Jaxon peered at her face with a frown in his expression, but Veronica didn't wait for his response anymore and served him fish soup while concealing her disgust and attempting to be pleasant.

Jaxon was furious at the time and asked her mockingly, "Do you know who these cooks are? Even their flawless craftsmanship is insufficient to satisfy me; who do you think you are?"

What a big joke. Of course, she knew it would be difficult to please him. As a result of his mocking, Veronica had to push the fish soup to the side and sit down to sip it. After losing her memories, she dedicated her time with cooking. She got accustomed to it and felt her cuisine was as excellent as the chef at the restaurant.

Jaxon was immediately taken in by the aroma of the fish soup, a pretty typical scent, obviously nothing exceptional, yet curiously captivating. He fixed his gaze on Veronica, who was sipping her fish soup with vigor, mouthful after mouthful, with no emotion on her face.

"Give me!" Jaxon spoke arrogantly, took the dish from her, and sipped.

'Uh. Not bad,' he commented to his wolf. Not willing to make it heard by Veronica. 'The soup is shockingly good, full of fresh taste, and has no fishy odor or chefs' pompous talents.'

'That's great. You hadn't had a delicious soup in a long time,' Black happily said.

Jaxon was rather hungry. He took up the chopsticks to eat the fish after a few mouthfuls of wine. When the bowl was empty, he directed that the leftover fish soup be spooned out of the pot. Veronica was startled as she saw Jaxon consume all of the fish soup she had prepared.

'Seemed like the devil has the like to it,' she taunted in her mind and helped Morgan to eat his food.

"Next time, don't mix it with herbs, I don't like it!" Jaxon pushed the empty bowl forward, took the omega servant’s handkerchief to wipe his lips, looked at the phone message, and left the room.

"Doesn't he know how to say thank you?!'" Veronica was irritated. After, she patted her empty tummy while looking blankly at the dining table's empty bowl.

“You don't like herb, yet you ate it all.” She mumbled in the air.

"Luna, after all this time here, don't you miss your pack?" Uriel asked.

"Here we go again," she sighed. “If you ask me a hundred times, I will always give you the same response. I can't remember anything, so I have no idea what pack should I return to! If you are kind enough to tell me, that will be great!”

Hell! She didn't even know how she got into this pack or even how she gave birth to Morgan. She was sure the reason why they kept asking this question; because they were suspecting she was lying about her memory lost.

It was another day of intensive questioning barrage. She shook her head and rose from the polygraph chair, mentally drained.

"Are you all right, Luna?" Uriel closed the interrogation paper in his fingers, his wrinkled eyes worriedly looking at her.

"I'll be alright if you don't ask me these boring questions every day." Veronica despised Jaxon, but she couldn't hate Uriel, a kind-eyed beta who looked.

familiar to her. She shook her head to keep herself awake for a long time.

“I can't ask for your pardon, Luna," Uriel bowed, which made Veronica more tired.

"When this interrogation will finally stop? If things continue in this way, I fear I will be driven insane.”

“I told you, Luna, as long as you can obey the Alpha.”

"But—"

"Alpha was mad again just now since the snacks did not suit his taste. I heard he enjoyed your soup the last time you met. Could you make anything for him?"

Veronica remained silent, although her expression indicated that she was hesitant to do so. When Uriel saw her face, he took it as an advantage and gave her hope again, "As long as the Alpha is in a good mood, he will consider your request."

“He will leave me alone as long as he's in a good mood?”

“Of course, Luna.”

“In any case, I should give it a go!” She enthusiastically exclaimed.

Veronica endured her hatred for Jaxon, made her ice cream and snack, and held it up through the winding artistic stairs. However, as she strolled downstairs, she saw the scarlet pajamas barely covered a coquettish woman's E cups. When she looked at the woman earnestly, she realized it was the lady who always come here.

If her memory was accurate, her name was Helene. She was the one Uriel told her--- the daughter of Alpha King.

Veronica gave her a quick look before walking up without squinting. However, she had to come to stop as Helene white thigh crossed in front of her. "Don't think that you can stay with Jaxon just because you have a child with him," she looked at her arrogantly, “Someone like you doesn't match his status. I, the daughter of Alpha King, deserve the throne next to him.."

The suggestive provocation was unmistakable. Veronica lifted her gaze to the woman. She was not furious, but rather amused. “I'm not competing with anything. The place is yours. And if you are that insecure, why don't you try to give him a child too?"

“You—” Helene was about to push her but Veronica was more enraged by the insult and extended her hand to shove her.

"This is what Jaxon needs, beat me if you have the courage," Veronica frantically put the ice cream bucket in front of her face.

Helene was caught aback by her words and swiftly drew her hand back. Of course, she didn't dare to touch Jaxon's belongings. No matter how big her place to his life, she must know her place.

"Please excuse me," Veronica said as she went up from her side. But she could hear Helene's mocking snort sound from behind her. After taking two steps, Veronica stopped suddenly, and her pure face wrinkled slightly.

Something was wrong. What if Helene came to sabotage her? It felt like an impossible notion that she only came here to mock her. She thought for a while and was about to take a spoonful of ice cream but before she could do so...

A strong fishy odor made her nauseous that made her vomit it into the side garbage.
