The blow I had just delivered caused the collapse of stones to fall, and before this whole house could be demolished, I made my escape.
When I went out onto the ground outdoors, I was met by a chill wind, violent thunder, lightning, and a sky that seemed to be crying.
"Alpha, where specifically are you going?!!" Betty's voice immediately stopped me just as I was about to leave. "It's still dangerous outside. Heavy rain is falling today, and I have no doubt that your attackers are only observing the situation from a distance."
"Be it. Let them expose their faces, and I will take each one of them out individually."
“But—”
"Listen, make sure that Morgan and Veronica are safe. No one will be permitted to enter their room. Place four guards outside Veronica's room and let Morgan stay there."
I observed the surroundings and looked up to the window where Veronica was. "Inform Uriel to disperse the warriors and patrols throughout the pack house. I also need him to give me an update to what I requested earlier."
"About the one who shot Luna?"
"Yes. Find those impudent hands and I'll cut them myself." I quickly marched away.
"But Alpha, won't you make things much more difficult? Where do you plan on going?"
I didn't answer anymore and used my speed to go where I had to go.
I knew that "she" had something to do with what was happening now because it was impossible for her to know nothing. If I was the real target of those killers, the arrow would have fallen on me rather than Veronica.
"She" was the only person I knew who would order anything like this to get what she desired. She was the only person who had intentions.
I didn't have to travel for very long until I found myself in the area of the Alpha King's land. Since the guards here already knew me, they didn't ask why I managed to end up here.
It wasn't long before I arrived inside the mansion. I picked up a vase, flung it down hard to make a noise, and looked around, but no one seemed to have noticed that I was here anyway.
As I strolled straight to the Alpha King's seat at the big table, I kept kicking everything I saw that was making noise as I went.
When I took my seat, the three devils I had been waiting for emerged. I pretended to extend my arms to them in a gesture of welcome and smiled at them both.
"Surprise."
"What does this mean, Jaxon?" I could see that Zeus was furious, yet he managed to maintain his cool throughout the whole.
"Aren't you surprised? Wow! That was a flop!” I laughed without any wordplay.
"Alpha Jaxon, you should know better than to stir up trouble right now. Whatever it is that you're doing now, I would really appreciate it if you could stop—"
I grabbed Veron by the collar and squeezed his neck while yelling in his face, "You mother fucker...! You are completely to blame for everything that went wrong with Veronica!"
"What the fuck are you saying?! It's not my fault that you're uncompetitive!" Veron pushed me but I didn't move in my place.
The next target of my attention was Helene, who avoided making direct eye contact with me. I let go of Veron and grasped her hair by the scruff of the neck and then pulled the silver dagger with the wolfsbane from its sheath and put it in front of her neck.
Sweat sprang out swiftly on her neck as she looked frightened and questioned anxiously, "J-Jaxon, what are you doing? That thing is d-dangerous."
"Helene, you know why I'm here." Before I explained what I meant, I tightened my grasp on her hair and said, "If anything awful happens to Veronica, I'll make sure... This knife will be buried in your neck."
I gave her such a powerful shove that it caused her to fall to the ground. Because of that, she cried so loudly, but I didn't care a rat's behind about it. Rather, I turned my attention back to Zeus and Veron.
"When anything out of the ordinary has a place, be on the lookout for my dictate of war. You know who I am, Zeus; anytime I choose, I am prepared to replace you on the throne that you are now sitting. The only thing that is left for me to have for you is respect, that's why I still let you remain where you are now."
"Are you trying to threaten me?!" He growled at me fiercely, but I returned his greeting with a grin.
"If that's what you believe, then you're right."
"You fucking psycho!" He was about to attack me but Veron stopped him.
"You, Zeus, need to ingrain the knowledge into your head that, in most cases, the wild creatures that we care for are the ones who will end up devouring us. Therefore, the next time, use caution while deciding who should be fed and cared for. The tenderness in each heart turns into ferocity."
