After asking that question, she didn't hear Veron's answer anymore and after a few seconds, the call went dead.
"Are you all right, Luna?" Uriel approached her and gave her a worried expression.
Veronica seemed more unhappy and devastated at this time than the Alpha's torture.
"I can go to the forest," Veronica said indifferently, gently lowering the phone, with no glint of hope in her eyes. She could tell from Veron's tone that he had no interest in helping her. She has no idea what will happen to Morgan if she was gone. Who will take care of him? Jaxon? There is no way that heartless man will take care of their child..
"Would you honestly rather die than bend your head to the Alpha, Luna?"
"I'm scared of him. I despised him. So, I rather die but... my child."
"The Alpha will surely forgive you if you ask his mercy."
"No... Just promise me to take care of Morgan, Uriel. Just promise me."
Uriel nodded, couldn't convince her any longer and could only hope for a change of heart.
[The first day in the forest]
Veronica stepped on the grass, looking at the giant trees in the clouds. A few bunches of sunlight fell from the top and in front of her. Her white skin stood out elegantly along with her green eyes in the terrifying wilderness. As she walked, she couldn't help but wonder. "Would it be the last image I see in this world?"
"No, I must survive... Seven days isn't a big thing for me... for Morgan." She still tried to cheer herself even though she feels the weight of her pain. “But sleeping forever in the forest. It also seems to be a good ending for me..."
Veronica didn't think anymore; instead, she walked to a slightly more giant open space with a big tree lying on the ground. She didn't know why it broke; only the annual rings were left on the stump. She lay down on the broken tree, holding a stack of white drawing paper in her hand. Uriel forcibly gave it to her. He thought that since she started liking painting, she must like drawing very much, and it is good to find some emotional sustenance.
She put the drawing paper with the pencil beside her. As she slowly closed her eyes, she dream about the man who she drew for the first time.
The memory flooded in, just like the water could not stop when the gate was released. It was a man with a dark red eyes, captivating her with his moves. She couldn't see his whole visuals because of the darkness but she was sure, that man was powerful, intimidating, and fierce.
"Tonight, you can’t escape under my arms."
"Even though your voice is hoarse from groaning."
"I’ll make sure that you will still moan my name and implore me to go on."
Veronica opened her eyes and looked down at the blank drawing paper with her moist eyes, the intimidating man's voice kept appearing in her ears, stubbornly saying repeatedly that he would devour her. She forgot whether she agreed at the time. But she clearly remembered his touches and his breath striking every side of her body.
She remembred his beautiful red eyes that penetrated her well-being at the time. “You seem to use this erotic body of yours to lure me, don’t you?” His lips curved into a grin as he trailed his tongue along her neck. “You know our pack is mortally opposed to each other. That’s why you’re doing this, right?
"How ironic." She mumbled. A drop of tear landed on the white drawing paper, forming a circular stain. "If only that man could help me escape this prison but I had no idea who could that man be!"
Little did Veronica know, the man she was dreaming was the one who was causing her suffering. It was Jaxon. It was the Alpha who impregnate her. The man she was loathing now.
Veronica blinked to open her eyes and reached out her hand to wipe away the tears. She then laughed bitterly. She painted quickly on the drawing paper, sketching the man in her dreams, and the tear stain was transformed into the eyes of the man.
"If I didn't survive this forest. Please, meet me in the next life, Morgan... and my mate."
[The second day in the forest]
Since Veronica didn't eat or drink water for a day, she was already starving. Her bruises had already gone until yesterday. As such, there's no reason to be surprised. Werewolves can get stronger in a short time. But even so, she has stomach aches. She was desperate and numb, but out of an instinct to live, she still drank a little dew from the leaves. As soon as she touched it, a rogue ran up, jumped off, and knocked her down.
The rogues seem to be Jaxon's ally, and they are her enemy. She can't eat anything. Not even a leaf or drop of dew. All of their eyes are on her. They were always watching her and intended to punish her by starvation. Jaxon was a heartless person. Sure, she would suffer less if she died sooner.
She was sitting on the ground and leaning against the broken tree. She didn't care that her long skirt was dirty. She looked at the tall trees in front of her. She reminisced and thought about how Jaxon kept pushing her into her limits after learning she has memory lost. Everyone thought she was just Alpha Jaxon's toy after the man kept bringing Helene here after being gone for awhile.
"I told you before and I will keep telling you, you must leave before you bring him chaos. Alpha Jaxon is a stone man and he shouldn't be broken!" Gamma Betty still kept reminding her this even though she can't remember anymore. "He will soon meet a powerful wolf that can he take alongside him for a big coming battle and you're not good for him."
"Leave him, huh?" She chuckled. "Even if I want to, that man doesn't allow me. He cage me with his territory like a blind woman and kept asking me to admit I didn't lose my memories! Such a nonsense man!"
