Veronica was running to the field when she stopped. She saw Jaxon doing push-ups with his pack members. Veronica felt that she wanted to train herself too, but how? She didn't have the wolf that she was searching for.
“Let's end this training. I don't want your Luna to see you all removing your clothes.” Jaxon announced, which made Veronica widen her eyes in disbelief. She couldn't understand why Jaxon didn't want to continue what they were trying to do because of her.
“Alpha, it looks like our Luna wanted to learn too.”
“Yes, Alpha!”
Veronica pursed her lips, and she was about to nod when Jaxon spoke.
“She can fight with me when we are alone. As of now, I don't like to see someone didn't have clothes, especially when it's another man.” Jaxon possessively said and told them to leave the field. The pack members didn't complain but obeyed what Jaxon ordered them around.
Veronica wasn't pleased with what Jaxon had done. She was annoyed not because she couldn't even see those men didn't wear some clothes but because she didn't even see how they trained. She wanted to learn, and Jaxon tried to be an antagonist again.
“It looks like you are mad at me because I want to be alone. Veronica, do you think I will let those men have their chance to make you see how great they are? I'm the only one that you need to see. No— it's only me and Morgan.” Jaxon walked closer to Veronica before he pulled her to hug her.
“I'm curious how they trained. I'm not even going here to see how they exposed their bodies, Alpha.” Veronica defended herself even though Jaxon didn't clear what he was talking about. Jaxon's face darkened in so much jealousy.
“What training are you talking about? Isn't it enough that you trained with me last night? Do you want me to be rough on you?” Jaxon laughed, but his eyes were full of threat as if he was giving Veronica a warning to answer his question wisely.
Instead of answering Jaxon's useless question. Veronica turned around to make Jaxon not know she was annoyed with him. What does Jaxon think about her? After they got sex, she would search for another man to scratch her itchiness. Did Jaxon believe she was like those girls who would scream because there were many men around?
“Hey! I'm talking to you!” Jaxon jogged closer to Veronica and held her hand, which made Veronica look at him. “Are you sure that you want to train yourself? Well, I don't mind if I'm the one who will teach you how to fight.”
“I don't think you will agree to me without something in return, Alpha.” Veronica pulled away her hands which made Jaxon growl.
“Well, I didn't even mind if you paid for me every night.” Jaxon jokes which made Veronica look at him with disgust. Jaxon bit his lips and pulled Veronica closer to him.
“But, I mind… I think I would rather train with another man than you. I'm sure you will think about your naughtiness rather than teach me how to fight.”
“Veronica, are you trying to degrade my skills? I'm powerful enough, and I know how to fight to defend myself. Did you even know that I'm the most outstanding warrior in this pack? You are not lost if you grab the opportunity.”
“Passed.” Veronica turned around, and she heard how Jaxon complained about her attitude. She stopped when she heard a thing coming in their direction.
“You are such an ungrateful woman. After I make you cum a lot of times—”
“Jaxon!” Veronica yelled and pushed Jaxon when she saw a silver arrow about to stab him. Veronica and Jaxon fell from the ground, and the pack members were alert.
Veronica was shocked. She didn't know what she would do next. She was afraid that something terrible might happen to Jaxon, but she was confused why she was even trying to risk her life for a man like him.
Veronica felt how her body froze because of the trauma that she had experienced. Her face turned pale, and she didn't even notice that Jaxon was standing.
“Veronica, are you trying to humiliate me? I'm an Alpha. I'm the one who needed to save you! I'm a man!” Jaxon felt that Veronica took off his pride.
“Did you think I'm a weak Alpha? I killed a lot, and here you are, trying to act as my Queen's shining armor!”
“Talk to me!” Jaxon stopped when Veronica didn't say anything, so he looked at her, and worry enveloped his heart. Jaxon ran over to Veronica and held her.
“Veronica! Did you hear me?” Jaxon almost yelled, but Veronica didn't say anything to him. Her body started to quiver violently, which made Jaxon feel that there was something wrong with her.
“Shit! Veronica… don't you dare close your eyes!” Jaxon carried Veronica.
Veronica tried to talk, but there weren't words coming from her mouth. Jaxon clenched his teeth when he saw how paled Veronica was.
