"Veronica.." Jaxon called Veronica because he felt that there was something wrong with her. Since Veronica woke up, she didn't even dare glance at him a single time. Jaxon felt annoyed when Veronica was still staring at the wall without emotion in her face.
Jaxon frowned when he noticed that Veronica was clenching her hands as if she were so mad and too ready to fight with him. Jaxon stepped closer to Veronica.
"Will you please leave me for now? I want to be alone in this room." Veronica spoke with conviction in her voice. Veronica gazed at Jaxon, which made Jaxon stunned when Veronica gave him a look as if he were a stranger in her life.
"Why will I leave you? You will be alone here, and there is a possibility that you might faint." Jaxon was trying to make some excuses. He felt that there was something wrong with Veronica that he needed to know. Is Veronica mad at him? What he had done to her?
Jaxon felt his heart squeeze in fear when he remembered what happened between him and Helene. Jaxon knew that there was something wrong with his body, which led him to have sex with Helene.
Jaxon never knew that Helene was such an aggressive type. Even though he was suspecting Helene of trying to kill Veronica. Jaxon was sure of it, but he was still looking for proof that it was Helene who did those things.
"Are you trying to tell me that I needed to faint so you would help me? Alpha Jaxon, did you think that I was weak? Did you think that I can't even protect myself against those people who will hurt me?" Veronica irritably said, which made Jaxon furrow.
Jaxon couldn't understand that Veronica was trying to make everything too big. Why didn't Veronica even see that he was worried about her? He knew how to be concerned for her, but was it Veronica who was pushing him away from her?
"You are unbelievable." Jaxon commented that he felt that his blood was boiling with so much anger again.
Jaxon was trying to be more nice, appreciative, and lovable to her, but Veronica kept trying to be distant. Jaxon didn't want to think that Veronica caught him doing those things; aside from that, he wouldn't be guilty because there was something wrong in his body that made him do those things that he had committed against her.
"Unbelievable? Did you even think that you were trying to help people recover because of your presence?" Veronica rebutted, which made Jaxon's nostrils widen.
"Veronica, I'm the Alpha of this pack! Did you forget about it? I know you lost your memories, but it doesn't give you a right to stop respecting me." Jaxon was annoyed but tried to stop himself from attacking Veronica.
"I'm sorry, Alpha." Veronica made sure that she uttered loudly the word "alpha" to Jaxon. Veronica was the mother of Morgan, Jaxon's only child, but Jaxon was still using his authority towards her. She felt that Jaxon was only using her body to have sex with her. "I will not forget that you are the Alpha of this pack. I'm sorry if I forgot that you are the Alpha. Please, Alpha, can you leave this room because I need some peace to think about---"
"Are you telling me that I'm only disturbing you, Veronica? Why are you treating me this way? Did you even think that I was the one who carried you and rushed you to this hospital?" Jaxon's jaw became tense, and there was anger in his eyes.
"Then... if you are trying to slap what you did for me.. I think I wished that you let me in the floor, and don't ever try to help me.." Veronica felt emotional because of what she had told Jaxon. Her lips trembled because she was trying to stop herself from having a breakdown. She felt that she was the stupidest woman living in the world because she let herself sleep with Jaxon.
"What?" Jaxon paused. "Are you trying to provoke me now? Are you trying to make me---"
"I'm not trying to do anything against you. Alpha Jaxon, as the Alpha of this pack, I think you know that the pack members can have privacy to think. It's the small things that I want." Veronica didn't let Jaxon finish her words.
"Are you mad at me?" Jaxon gulped. He felt that there was tension in his heart. He felt that his heart wanted to jump out of his ribcage.
Veronica tried to maintain her composure and looked away from Jaxon. She didn't like to answer Jaxon because she thought that she had the right to refuse to answer his question.
"Tell me, Veronica, are you angry with me? You aren't like this when you are in the hospital with Morgan!"
"I want you to tell me what you are thinking. Veronica, answer my question, damn it!" Jaxon yelled in so much frustration, which made Veronica let herself answer Jaxon.
"Yes..." Veronica gasped. She was furious because of what Jaxon did, but the worst was that she couldn't even complain because she felt that she didn't have the right to get mad.
"You wanted to know the truth? Yeah, I'm so mad at you that I wish I couldn't see you today. I don't like to see you closer to me, nor do I like your shadows. Alpha Jaxon, how can you sleep with another woman after you sleep with me? It's disgusting that I wanted to puke." Veronica spat like her words were like poison in Jaxon's heart.
She took an aggressive breath before she continued what she was going to say: "I don't like to be with you now. I wish that I didn't even know you. You are the most disgusting thing I have ever known!"
Jaxon felt that his wolf was howling in so much anger, which led him to strangle Veronica by her neck. He was outraged, and all he saw was only red.
