Uriel didn't know what he would answer to Jaxon. The truth was, he tried to ask Ava about it because they were friends--- childhood friends, to be exact. However, Ava didn't say anything about Veronica.
What would he do next? He even asked someone to spy on her pack, but they didn't see her. He only gambled because it was Ava, Veronica's sister. He thought that Veronica might ask Ava for her help especially since she was the Alpha of this pack.
He gulped when Jaxon gave him a cold gaze. His Alpha expected him to announce good news after they did everything to find Veronica's body. He was certain Jaxon couldn't sleep properly because Morgan and Veronica weren't with him.
“My apologies, Alpha. I went to her pack, and she didn't say anything. Did you forget that Veronica was cast out of their pack when she got pregnant with Morgan? They have a conservative pack, and they disliked the idea that their future Alpha got pregnant without having a mate.” Uriel informed him. He paused for a moment. He didn't know about it because all Veronica had done was always for him.
He coughed. He felt embarrassed that his Beta was witnessing that he didn't have a concern with his mate.
“Maybe, Veronica already mentioned that to me. Does it mean that she is not in Alpha Ava's pack? Where is she?” Jaxon felt distressed. He was thinking about where Veronica was hiding. He would rather accept how she got mad at him than she was hiding, and she didn't want to see him again.
“I already assigned someone there. He's the one who will inform us about what happened in Alpha Ava's pack. However, our spy said he saw Veron in Alpha Ava's pack.” Uriel finally informed Jaxon about what he had found out. Jaxon was stunned for a little moment.
He was baffled by thinking that Veron had communicated with Ava. He was Helene's brother but he knew that Veron was hiding something. Veron was too aloof to anyone but he couldn't stop himself from invading his relationship with Veronica.
He knew that Veron resented him especially since the Alpha King chose him as the next Alpha King. Veron did everything to make his father see that he deserved to get crowned, but the Alpha didn't support him.
”What is he doing there? Veronica isn't there, right?” he whispered, trying to hide what he might be thinking. He swallowed, for he felt that Veron might be looking for Veronica, too. He groaned in anger.
“She's not in their pack. Aside from that, Veron stayed there for a little longer and then left because his Beta was looking for him." Uriel replied.
Jaxon nodded. He believed Veron was hoping that Veronica was in their pack like him. He sighed. He was hurt. It was traumatizing for him whenever he was sleeping. He could still see how Veronica jumped out from the cliff. Even in his dream, she still haunts him.
“Report everything that you might find. Push Helene away from me. I don't want to see her until Veronica is missing.” He ordered and continued what he was doing. Uriel bowed and left the room. He scratched his forehead. He was stressed about how he could find Veronica. He couldn't have a rest as long as Veronica was still missing.
“Shit! Veronica, where are you? Please, come back here.” he whispered and clenched his fist. He dislikes the idea that Veron was hoping for his chance with him.

“Good, Veronica. Keep moving your hands.” The man yelled at her. She continued what she ass doing, and did what he was saying. It was her second day to learn how to swim.
She didn't bother to complain because she knew the man didn't like that someone was calling him his name. She respected it.
“Veronica, do something to get this...” Veronica chuckled and felt that she was a dog whenever the man was throwing some things. She did what he had asked him to do. He didn't mind as long as he would finally play.
She gasped when she swam back from the top. She threw it in the man's direction, but he answered it too fast.
“Let's stop this practice. You need to have some rest, and you need to prepare what you will cook for me.”
Veronica was such a great woman who knew how to cook. He enjoyed how she prepared the dish, and tasted it.
“After this, we will run in the middle of the forest. If you want to learn everything, then you must wait, and endure the training. The man uttered while they were in the middle of eating. Veronica thought that my train would be too fast to end, but she was wrong.
However, she was sure she would learn whatever she needed to lead. The man watched her chewing, and she didn't notice how he looked at her.
“I want to know a lot. Like what I tell you, I'm desperate to learn. It's better to learn a lot even though it might take so long.” Veronica finally admitted what she was thinking.
The man nodded before he said, “I want you to be smart. I want you to know what my name is. If you didn't know what my name is, then I will make sure that you will not be back here.”
She didn't say anything after the man had mentioned that he wouldn't give her a clue about his name. How could the man be so heartless always!
“I didn't know that you're mated with Alpha Jaxon. Are you sure that you didn't want to see him?”
“I don't want to see him. I don't think there is another reason for me to see him,” she admitted. For now, she hated Jaxon so much that she wished that she didn't meet him from the very start. She would use the resentment of Jaxon be her inspiration for the training.
