Veronica felt that she didn't have a chance to get the revenge that she was hoping to do to those people who mistreated her. She swallowed a lot of water. She was sure that she would die.
What about Morgan? She was sure that Morgan was waiting for her to find him. She knew her child, Morgan, loved her so much.
In her dreams, Morgan was cheering for her so that she could finish her training. She would be powerful, and he was the one who would be proud of her at first.
“Mom...” She gasped, and the water came inside her once again. Her eyes opened, and she saw Morgan, who was smiling at her. She must be crazy to see her child in the middle of the lake.
Seeing how Morgan gave her the sweetest smile made her remember her feelings when she held him. How she became emotional when she heard his first cries. Morgan was the one who didn't leave him.
Morgan loved her tenderly even though she was too stupid to let Jaxon maltreat her. Morgan was the one who cried when she almost lost her life.
“Mom, what are you doing? I thought you wanted to find me...” Morgan said, making her feel sad. Her body quivered again.
“I'm waiting for you, Mom. I know that you will do everything to find me.” Morgan added before she lost consciousness. She didn't see the man swimming near her.
The man quickly grabbed her hand and swam to the top. He was panting while he was pulling her as long as he could. When he successfully came to the muddy part of the ground, he dragged her body.
He gently tapped her face. He was in a panic. He wasn't aware that Veronica didn't even know how to swim. It was his fault because he only assumed that she could.
“Veronica!” he yelled her name. He tapped her face once again. He started pounding her chest and gave her air. However, minutes passed, and Veronica wasn't responding.
“Fuck! Come back here.” He whispered and heard how his heart was beating too fast. He lowered his head and tried to listen to her heartbeat.
He closed his eyes and focused. His eyes widened when he heard that Veronica's pulse was too low. He continued pumping her chest and gave her oxygen again until Veronica coughed.
She coughed a lot of water that she had swallowed while she was in the middle part of the lake. The man sat on the muddy ground, and he was panting. He couldn't believe that there was a woman who would make him experience that panic.
Since birth, he was known as the most intelligent man in all the werewolves. He could quickly learn what he had watched for one time.
He thought that he wouldn't feel the excitement that he had hoped to feel for a long time. Thanks to Veronica, he felt how it feels to panic.
“Shit! Why didn't you tell me you didn't know how to swim? Fuck.” The man grunted and gave her a death glare.
She was stunned, but her cheeks were pinkish. Her lips trembled, for she thought the man would stop training her.
“I didn't know that I would fall. I'm sorry,” she answered. She licked her lips and looked away. Of course, she knew she would fall, but she didn't want the man to know that a grown-up woman like her didn't even know how to swim.
“What?” The man asked in disbelief. He moaned in anger and took a mud. He throws it to Veronica's face, making Veronica shriek in surprise.
“Why did you throw me that freaking mud? Shit! Disgusting.” Veronica tried to move away, but the man continued throwing the mud, making her crawl away.
The man laughed, so Veronica gnashed her teeth and cupped the mud. She smirked and threw it directly to the man's face.
The man paused, and his sight was expanded. He looked like he didn't even know Veronica would throw back the mud.
“You deserve it. You're a man, then your throwing that shits on me.” Veronica yelled when the man acted that he would punish her. She ran so fast that she slipped. The man shouted in worry and came to her.
“You are too weak. It's better if I teach you first to swim.” He whispered, and Veronica didn't like the idea of it.
“Move your feet!” The man ordered, and Veronica obeyed. Her cheeks were blushing as she gulped in humiliation. She couldn't believe that she would be taught how to swim. She understood that it was an essential part of survival skills but disliked being treated like a child.
“Come on! I will remove my hands now... Don't panic. I'm still here.” The man assured her that he would help her once she failed. Veronica did what the man had taught her and was amazed when she floated from the water.
“Excellent, Veronica. I will teach you some basic techniques to make you know how to stay longer in the water.” The man clapped his hand and watched Veronica intently. He couldn't believe that Veronica could quickly learn those things. She must be a fast learner!

Jaxon was staring blankly at his table. He couldn't still find Veronica even though he had a lot of troops that he could use to search her body. He couldn't believe that Veronica might be dead. He was sure that she was still alive!
“Alpha, Helene is here. She tells us that you're expecting her to go here.” Uriel informed him. Uriel looked haggard, and he had a lot of lack of sleep because of Veronica. He was worried about her but didn't like to say what was on his mind.
“I don't want her to go inside. Drag her out in my pack. She's the reason why Veronica decided to leave me.” Jaxon was heartless. He couldn't understand why Helene seemed to have control over his body.
“Alpha, she will be mad once she finds out you didn't want her to go here.”
“I don't care. I only want Veronica. Do something to find her. Is there any news coming to Alpha Ava's pack?” Jaxon asked, making Uriel pause.
