Veronica gave the Alpha King the sweetest smile that she had ever had. Her lips twitched with amusement when the Alphas who were surrounded by Jaxon looked at her with amazement.
“You are an Alpha? We don't even know about it.”
“Yeah, we didn't know. What happened to Alpha Ava?”
Ava cleared her throat to get the Alpha's attention. She rolled her eyes when some men chuckled at her. She knew that they already saw her, they were trying to tease her. She didn't mind if someone might think that she was too foolish to step down from being an Alpha.
Being an Alpha had a lot of pressures on her sleeves, she would rather be an ordinary werewolf who could have a vacation whenever she needed to. However, if Veronica hadn't told her that she would be her Beta, she might be on the island, enjoying the sunset scenery while getting her skin tanned.
She wanted to have a normal life. She wasn't too young to stress herself for some workloads that she wanted to burn. Being an Alpha was too difficult because the lives of the pack members were in her hands. She needed to be wise and sympathize with other pack members which made her more tired.
“I'm happy that my sister finally gets what she deserves!” She commented.
“Oh, Alpha Veronica, if you don't mind we thought that you are dead. We find out that Alpha Jaxon is searching for you.”
Jaxon's eyes became pierced while he was looking at Veronica, who was chuckling. He noticed how Veronica changed a lot and felt stupid that he kept locating her.
He realized why he couldn't find her, it was because Veronica chose to hide herself, and she was alive and kicking. Seeing how stunning Veronica was made him remember the shortest part of the first meeting with her.
He recalled how Veronica got his attention at the party which led to her having sex with her when he was drunk. Veronica was sexy, her massive breasts were bouncing, and she was blooming like a wildflower.
“There's someone who helps me. That's why I'm still alive.” Veronica answered. She was stopping herself from looking in Jaxon's direction because she could feel his glare on her.
“Well, this party isn't about me. I'm here because I found out that the Alpha King has a party for all of the Alphas in this world. I'm an Alpha, and I'm invited, too.” she added and gave a wink to the Alpha in front of her.
Veron laughed and took a wine before he gave it to Veronica. He pulled her to the front of the Alpha King, who was still surprised when he saw her.
“It's nice to see you, Alpha King. I wish that the moon goddess will give you a happy, and bountiful life. It is such an honor to be invited by the known powerful Alpha.” She started to use her flowery words that made the Alpha King stunned and calmed down.
“Alpha Veronica, don't be like that. I don't want my father to think that you're still available for him.” Veron jokingly remarked that made Veronica smile at success.
While Ava lowered her head and tried to hide how disgusted she was when she heard those words. The Alpha King was older than their father, and it made her sick that Veronica would end up with the Alpha King.
She would rather let Jaxon be with her sister than let her sister end up with the Alpha King.
“Alpha Veron, don't think that way. I'm giving my respect to the Alpha King. You're trying to embarrass me.”
“No, I'm not. I don't want to have an adversary especially when it comes to you.”
Ava tried her best not to puke again. She disliked Veron so much, and she couldn't hide what she felt towards him. She couldn't understand why she had a bad feeling for Veron especially since Veron hadn't done anything wrong to her.

Ava couldn't stop herself from talking with Veronica using the mind link.
The party started, and Veronica stole the spotlight on Helene. Veron was holding her waist while there were a lot of unmated Alpha who wanted to have a chance to talk with her.
“Hey! You all trying to steal my date from me!” Veron acted like he was jealous whenever some men were trying to get their chance with Veronica.
While on the other side, Helene was sitting beside Jaxon. She was gritting her teeth when she watched how Veronica enjoyed that spotlight that was about to her. She gripped the goblet in madness and drank the wine in one drink.
She was madly jealous when she saw how Veronica tamed her father too fast. She looked at the Alpha King, who was smiling at Veronica. She clenched her jaw as she caressed Jaxon's leg.
“Jaxon, it seems my brother is enjoying her. Don't you feel irritated that she's here?” she whispered.
Her anger towards Veronica grew especially when Veronica had a special place in Uriel's heart. She was only acting stupid but she knew whenever Uriel was thinking about Veronica.
Jaxon didn't say anything but his murderous glimpses landed on Veronica who was flirting with some unmated Alphas. He grasped the goblet in jealousy, and his jaw clenched. He wanted to punish her for making him feel like an idiot.
He would do anything to make her be with him again. He wouldn't accept to lose Veronica.
“Veronica is having a great time with other men. It seems that's her true colors.” Helene added.
What Jaxon needed to do was to wait for his chance to have a chance to talk with Veronica. He would explain everything to her, especially about what happened to Morgan.
Ava was watching Veronica from afar when an Alpha came to her. Her smile faded but she maintained to have a respected look at the Alpha.
“It's great that I still see you here, Ava. You don't have a date tonight.”
Ava forced herself to smile. She disliked to be asked some stupid questions. She was at the party to do her work and made sure that Veronica was safe.
“She's with me..." A man roared as his hand encircled Ava's waist.
