She bit her lips and tried to hide the disappointment in her eyes. She always obeyed him, even though in the end she ruined her relationship with Jaxon, and now she already saw how greedy her father was when it came to power.
She was treated like a princess by the servants in their pack, but her father treated her like a slut that he could use to gain something in return. She wished that she wasn’t selfish enough to be the most powerful woman because her dream turned into a nightmare!
"I will do everything that I can, Alpha,” She mumbled and stopped her tears from coming out of her eyes. How long does she need to endure being treated like trash? She was aware that the Alphas already knew about her father, but she acted that she was innocent.
"Start doing anything like what I tell you. Seriously, you are like your brother." The Alpha didn’t want to stop. He wanted to throw his anger at Helene. His hands turned into fists when he heard how the Alpha chuckled happily because of Alpha Jaxon.
‘Damn him! I want to kill him,’ he thought. He felt how his blood rushed aggressively through his veins.
He was stunned when Jaxon called him. He was forced to have a smile on his lips when he whispered to Helene, "Put a smile on your lips. I don’t want them to think that I’m mistreating you!"
Helene did what he told her to do, but she was sure that she would be quickly humiliated when she noticed how Jaxon gave her a look.
"It’s an honor to come here to your party, Alpha King. I still believe that you set the party for peace." Jaxon’s mouth twitched, and he raised the goblet in his hand before he tasted the wine.
The Alpha King chuckled and acted that he had never done anything wrong with his daughter. "Of course, as the Alpha King, all I think about is the peace in our land. I’m happy that there are a lot of Alphas who come here to the party! I hope that you all enjoy your night here."
Jaxon chuckled and nodded. He acted as if he didn’t notice how the Alpha King tried to maintain his image. He drank his wine when Helene came closer to his side. A servant came and poured out his drink, which made him stop tasting the wine again.
"I still remember you and my daughter Helene. I can’t wait for you both to settle for good,” the Alpha King commented, which made Jaxon not correct him.
He grinned. "I still want to maintain my image as the bachelor Alpha. I’m not yet qualified to be your son-in-law. I want to prove something that you will be proud of." Jaxon slowly uttered those words.
"Oh, Alpha Jaxon, I told you that I can give the throne to you as long as you marry my daughter. She’s the best woman that you will ever see. I’m not getting younger, and I want to see my future grandchildren with you."
"I will think about it, your Majesty."
The Alpha who sat beside him in the opposite position coughed before he said, "Alpha, we enjoyed being here, but we still didn’t see your son. Where is Veron? It’s too sad that he isn’t here."
"He’s on his way here. He might be under pressure that I’m pressuring him to settle down." The Alpha King jokingly muttered and hid disappointment in his face.
"Oh, right! Veron is still single! It seems he didn’t have plans to marry someone." The man commented that the Alpha King tried to hide his frustration. He closed his eyes and secretly cursed his only son, who was such a great disappointment to his reign.
"Wait, he’s here! I can’t believe this! He’s with a stunning woman—wait, she looks like the woman who'd been with Alpha Jaxon years ago.."
When Jaxon heard those words, his eyes landed on Veron, who was walking in their direction. He frowned when he noticed a familiar woman who was wearing a scarlet-red revealing dress.
Veronica’s dress was too tight. Her massive breasts were pounding whenever she stepped. She had her usual poker face while Veron gripped her hand tightly.
"Are you alright?" Veron asked, it made her smile, especially when the majority of the men were enticed by her beauty.
"I’m alright; you don’t need to worry about me." She answered back. She slowly moved her head, and her eyes locked on Alpha Jaxon, who wasn’t removing his eyes from her.
She grinned mischievously when she noticed Helene, who was giving her a murderous look.
‘It seems you have already caught their attention. Congratulations, Alpha Veronica; you successfully took your first step.’ Ava talked to her using the mind link.
Seeing how Helene reacted towards her made her think that she could successfully get the justice that she had been seeking for so long.
