Back to the current time, after teleporting, due to her low esper and heavy wounds she lost control and got lost in space-time.
A teleportation that would’ve been instant took her days instead, of course to her it all happened instantly.
As soon as she landed on Adrian’s floor disturbing his happy time she fainted. Adrian and Annie were embarrassed.
" Do you think she saw us?" He asked Annie with embarrassment, Adrian saw Meggie as a mother figure.
Being caught by your mother when you were just about to have sex is embarrassing, even when you’re a fully grown adult.
Annie punched him on the shoulder, " What the hell are you thinking at a time like this, let take care of her first."
She got dressed and rushed towards Meggie who was bleeding on the floor, the cold energy of the Bloody Mary was gone from her body.
This meant her blood was no longer frozen and it spilled out of her wounds like a broken dam.
Annie slot her own wrist and poured her blood on Meggie’s wounds, the wounds started healing rapidly.
But Meggie still did not wake up, they called Suzie, her and the members of her lineage took Meggie and cleaned her up.
Adrian and Annie sat next to her bed watching her sleep, Adrian was anxiously tapping his foot.
" Stop it, you’re braking the floor." Annie grabbed his hand tightly and leaned on his shoulder.
" She’ll be fine, you don’t have to be so anxious." She comforted him but that just made Adrian angry.
He clicked his tongue, " Anxious? Why would I be anxious? You think I care what happens to her?"
She looked but didn’t say anything. Adrian turned his head away and avoided her gaze.
’ Why the hell do I care? She’s the one who left me. Well she did help me a lot in the past but still, she left me.’
Adrian had always pretended to be fun but he was really hurt when Meggie just up and left without an explanation.
After losing his mother and little sister, Meggie quickly became his pillar and he got attached to her.
Being around her had been comforting as if he was standing around his mother, her presence made him feel like no matter what happened everything would be fine.
A few hours passed and neither of them moved an inch from their seats, finally Meggie’s eyes flustered.
Slowly she opened them and turned towards the two of them. She smiled gently upon seeing Adrian.
He tried the act cold but both women could see through him. Meggie froze then jumped up straight.
" Damnit, I need your help!" She shouted making the couple look at her strangely.
" Could you tell us what happened first?" Annie asked.
Meggie took a deep breath, " It was the Bloody Mary, I went to retrieve the eleventh key before she could.
However I hadn’t expected her to become a demigod so fast, her progress is even faster than the last..." She didn’t continue.
" Anyways, we fought and as you saw by my state I barely escaped."
Annie and Adrian looked at each other and their faces were grim, Adrian remembered the warning of the fairy king and queen.
" If she’s collected eleven keys then it won’t be long before she get the last key, according to the tale.
When all twelve keys are in the hands of the Bloody Mary, the bleeding maiden shall wake from her slumber.
Which makes no sense, no matter how much I think about it, the bleeding maiden is definitely the Bloody Mary.
But the Bloody Mary is walking the earth as we speak, is she sleep walking?" Annie thought out loud.
Meggie sighed, " You’re wrong, the Bloody Mary is yet to awaken, the one you think of is merely a vessel.
The Bloody Mary is worse, much much worse than you can ever imagine and we can’t let her wake up.
Disregarding the dread and misery her own presence will bring into the world, her seal is a chain latch.
One it breaks, the other seals will be even more loosened, we will not be able to stop them from breaking."
" What do you mean?" Annie asked, Adrian was curious as well.
" The 12 seals can also be called the twelve calamities, the Bloody Mary, the Seven Sins and the Four Horsemen.
The reason they’re called seals is because each of them holds a key to hell and if Bloody Mary awakens.
The others will awaken one by one, that is inevitable, at that point, it will no longer be about stopping the seals from breaking.
It would be a race to collect the keys to lock up hell before its gate break open." Her words them frown.
" It’s not hopeless though, there is a silver lining, all the seals are spirits and the power of spirits is highly conditional.
They can stronger than Gods or weaker than mortals, as long as you resist the influence of their power, you can defeat them.
I can’t speak for the others but dealing with the Bloody Mary alone is too troublesome, as you know her power is one of Grieved Souls.
Well, that’s merely the power of of her vessel, a fraction of the Bloody Mary’s true power.
You know the story right? How she used to be a nun, the kindest and most empathetic of nuns.
It was this empathy that got her killed, it led her to oppose the church which in itself was troublesome.
But the church at that time wouldn’t mind the complaints of a single woman but Mary was powerful, incredibly so.
In fear of her power and ideals that prioritize the common people over the interests of the leaders of the church they killed her.
Worst still, they branded her a witch who sought to hard the church, the very people she was fighting to protect turned against her.
It’s a tragic story but it’s all her emo, Bloody Mary feeds of conscience by using empathy. She infuses the memories of those you’ve killed into you.
If you get absorbed and feel sorry for your victims, even a little bit of regret for killing them is enough to transfer their fates to you.
She would directly make their deaths yours and in doing so resurrect them so you can bet the dead spirits are cooperative.
The only way to deal with her is either to be truly righteous to the point that you’ve never killed a person whose death you would ever regret.
Or be a complete psychopath who doesn’t have an ounce of empathy or even sympathy for your victims.
Tell me, how many do you think are like that?"
Both Adrian and Annie grew quiet, their faces were grim.
