Eclipse of a Luna wolf Chapter 22

Melissa's POV

I stared at the man before me with great interest, deeply, I wanted nothing else but to know what exactly he had on his mind. What things is he talking about and why does he look so pleased to have me as the next Luna of the pack.

Tinox smiled, he glanced at Nelson, "You ought to have guarded get through"

Taken aback by Tinox words, a frown rested on Nelson who gazed at him, "How am I supposed to do that?"

"You don't have to ask me prince Nelson" Tinox countered with a displeased look on his face, "This isn't something you should be told about, this is something you should know and go along with. You need no one telling you this, no one at all, we both know this so I wonder why you haven't done what is needed of you these past days"

"I am busy"

"Too busy that you can't put your mate through?" Tinox asked in a soft voice. I didn't say a word but watched both men exchange words to my surprise. It was clear that Tinox wasn't pleased with Nelson but he didn't want to show it forth as the other men gazed at them in silence.

"I don't need to put her through, she should know that this is part of her duty of being the Luna, no one ought to inform her of her duties, we both know this" Nelson noted with a hardened tone as he avoided my gaze.

Tinox shook his head not saying a word, clearly, he wasn't pleased and watching him stare at Nelson so helplessly made me feel pissed in a way that I just couldn't explain.

"What things do you intend to know about?" I asked, breaking the tense atmosphere between both men.

Tinox averted his gaze at me, the smile returned to his face, "You won't know them without the guidance of the Alpha"

"But why?" I asked not to buy his words.

"He ought to inform you, no one else but him," Tinox pointed out as he tried to make me understand.

"Then try me," I suddenly said to the man's surprise.

Nelson turned to me with a narrowed gaze.

"Try you?" Tinox asked, looking surprised.

I nodded, "Yes, do try me. If I don't know most of the answers you need, then I will get the knowledge elsewhere" I affirmed and I could feel the frown on Nelson's face deepened.

"It's not possible Melissa, you can't know all of these without the intercession of the Alpha. Prince Nelson knows that there is a part of the laws guiding the pack but instead, he choose to let it off without any show of concern"

I smiled sweetly, glanced at the men standing behind Tinox and returned my gaze to him

"I understand that I do need the Alpha to put me through all these. But try me, I might know something and if I don't, I will definitely fill my head with the knowledge as quickly as possible" I affirmed, a smile not leaving my face.

I looked at Nelson, the Expression on his face was nothing else but pure anger but I didn't care. I won't let his absence rub so deeply on my face, no way.

"Alright, if you insist. I am sure that you might get a knowledge of the laws guiding the pack and how your coronation works."

Nelson shrugged.

"I think I do"

Surprised, Tinox raised a brow.

"You do?"

I nodded in agreement, "Everything happening right now is a result of the moon goddess' decision . I am fully aware of this and I take no blame on it"

"Do you know about the moon goddess?" Tinox implored, looking more surprised.

"Yes I do"

"You are a human Melissa, most human lack this knowledge"

I smiled, "I don't live in the human world anymore, I guess things has to change since my environment doesn't consist of mere humans like me but werewolves"

Looking pleased, Tinox smiled, "I never had an idea, you getting to know this without the help of prince Nelson is quite remarkable"

I smiled again, "Then I guess not all humans are idiots after all"

Tinox laughed at my reply. I could hear Nelson shrug again but it didn't matter.

"I really do like you child, your spirit flows like that of a mighty waterfall, very impressive and full of great power, I am very impressed" Tinox noted, his eyes filled with so much admiration as he gazed at me.

"I am honored" I bowed, the smile not escaping at all.

"But…."

I raised my head up at Tinox.

"How do you know this without the help of anyone?" He inquired, his eyes not letting go of me.

I smiled sweetly, "The truth is that I didn't know if this without no one's help, indeed, I was informed and put through my someone"

Surprised, Tinox took a step closer to me, "Who? A human? Or a werewolf of this pack?"

I nodded, "He is a werewolf of this pack"

Tinox's eyes widened in Surprise, "A he? You mean another male put you through all of these?"

I nodded in affirmation.

"This is indeed surprising. The Alpha is meant to do this, who is this werewolf, I will like to know"

I looked up at Tinox with a free minded spirit, "His name is Conri, the next Beta of the pack"

Tinox gazed enlarged, he glanced at Nelson who didn't say a word but watched the whole scenario.

"Conri?"

"Yes"

"He taught you all these?"

I nodded in agreement, "Yes he did, won't have known these without his help"

Tinox didn't say a word, the elders standing behind him began to murmur to themselves. At first, I stood confused as I wondered what might be wrong. Is there anything wrong in Conri teaching her all I need to know? I couldn't quite understand the sudden uproar, with my eyes glancing from one man to the other, I narrowed my eyes, thinking far more deeply than I have ever done.

"It is indeed surprising" Tinox let out. He didn't look angry or sad but very surprised.

"But why? Is anything wrong In Conri helping me out?" I asked.

"Not at all. It is just…" he paused, "Surprising" he smiled, "It is fine, I am very impressed and I think it's best you take heed to Conri's teaching" he glanced at Nelson who still didn't say any word.

"It's nice finally meeting you Melissa, you can leave now, I hope to see you once again" he smiled warmly.

Nelson stood still not taking a move. Seeing that he was adamant to leave along with me, I smiled at Tinox and walked out of the room but I could feel the men's eyes on me as I walked out.

"She is very beautiful prince Nelson" I heard Tinox say to my ultimate surprise as soon as I walked out of the hall.

Great happiness filled my heart, I have ever felt so fulfilled and filled with hope. With smiles plastered on my face, I strolled down the hall heading back to the chamber I shared with Nelson. I couldn't wait to get the clothes off my body and wear something more comfy.

The thought of Conri flashed through myond, I quickly remembered that the last time I saw him was when he left the library after being called. The urge to see him again filled me whole, I wanted to tell him how my meet up went with the elders of the pack and I won't dare miss any detail when explaining to me.

Tinox

The name filled my head, his gentle words and friendly smile. The old man is the third person to sew forth such kindness to me apart from Anabelle and Conri.

But why?

Is there something attached to this strange kindness?

I know that I am not used to people being so nice to me but still, I crave such kindness but realizing that I am.in a strange place and I have no other choice but to care for myself, I need to buckle up and not watch anyone ride me like a piece of trash.

Anyone

Including the arrogant Prince Nelson.

I don't see him as a bad man but watching him throw harsh words to me is something I won't accept at all.

I just can't take it anymore.

The ridicule, disrespect, deep hatred in his eyes. If he thinks he is the only one in pain, he should think twice of leaving his world and starting another life anew in a strange place. This shit hurts more than anyone, my shit and I won't let him look down on me at all.

I heard footsteps walking towards me, the sound quickly dashing my thoughts bringing me into reality.

I gazed up only to find Viviana walking towards me, there was a strange look plastered on her face as soon as she saw me but I decided to ignore her.

"You don't have to look away Melissa, it's surprising to see you walking alone without the present of a maid or your precious Alpha" she spat out.

I ignored her not saying a word. I tried to take a step away from where she stood but to my surprise, she blocked me, a form plastered on her face.

"What are you doing?" I inquired looking up at her.

"Why the angry look? You know you don't look too beautiful with it, it only makes you look more ugly and less attractive to Nelson"

At that point, I felt really disgusted and I didn't fail to show it.

"What do you want?"

Viviana laughed, her laugh was so sharp and loud that it filled my ears adding more irritation to me.

"Come on, don't act like we are enemies…" she paused grinning but continued almost immediately with her words, "Let's just say that we are both sharing the same man, nothing else"

This time,I couldn't contain the anger that grew in me.

"I am not sharing any man with you Viviana, it's best you leave me alone, you and whoever you must be referring to" I fired at her.

"Really?"

I chose not to reply to her, looked away and took another step but she blocked my way again, the annoying look still plastered on her face.

"I know how bad you must be feeling right now. Your husband cheating on you with a very pretty Werewolf, that must be so sad on your part and I understand if you are mad about this. It's normal and I quite understand the pain and frustration it must have on you but you don't have to be so cocky. Just see it as part of life my dear" she smirked, her brown eyes glittered as she stared at me.

I watched her, she wore a flowing red dress, her blonde hair styles beautifully with pretty hair pins all over. She wore a make up, her lips painted so red that I could easily mistake it as blood.

No doubt, she is dead gorgeous but that was the least of my worries. What I wanted at that moment was for her to get the hell off my face.

"Listen Viviana"

"It's a pleasure you know my name"

I decided to ignore her remark and continue with my words, "I don't care about your affair with Nelson. I understand that you both do have an history, a painful love story without a happy ending, I do understand but that doesn't give you the right to stop me from minding my business, you need to get out of my face, your relationship with Nelson is mine of my business, you can have him for all I care" I noted and walked away from her. Her face alone was a pain in my ass but one thing I won't tolerate is for her to insult me just because of a man I don't feel anything for.

Viviana chuckled, "You are jealous, aren't you?"

Taken aback by her question, I took to a halt and turned around with narrowed eyes fixed on her.
