Melissa's POV
"Jealous?"
Viviana turned around to me, "Yes Melissa, you are jealous, it is clearly written all over you, it hurts you so deep that you can't have Nelson all to yourself. I do understand your pain but you should just accept it and don't act like you are not begging he comes along to need you in his life"
Shocked by her words, I felt very dumbfounded, the words stuck to my head failed to come out.
"Come on, just agree to it, aren't you jealous Melissa? Tell me the truth? Come on, don't be shy"
Not knowing what to say, I choose to ignore her and walk out. She burst out laughing really hard to my annoyance but I chose to stay off.
As angry as I was, I got into the room followed by Patrica.
"I need to be alone" I said to her as soon as we got into the room.
"Are you alright?" Patricia asked with deep care.
I didn't turn around to her but had my eyes fixed on the open window, "Yes I am. Just leave please, I will call you when I need you"
She left me to my thoughts, I paced around not because of her words concerning me being jealous but because of the fact that she will ever think of such.
With rolled eyes, I undressed, wore a simple white gown with pink flowers printed on it. Having nowhere else to go, I decided to head down to the library with the key stuck to my hand.
I walked out of the room,Viviana words kept throbbing through my mind, getting me pissed off with every minute that passes by.
"Watch out Melissa" a voice suddenly boomed next to me.
I looked up only to find Conri walking out of a hallway, he had his gaze on me as we almost bumped into each other.
The books in my hands fell to the floor.
"Oh, I am sorry" I muttered and got to my knees. To my surprise, Conri did the same as he helped me pick them up.
"Don't worry, let me help you with this," he muttered, giving me a warm smile.
"Thanks" I replied ,got to my feet and watched him do the work.
"I guess you must be heading to the library" Conri spoke out, handing me the books immediately he got on his feet.
"I am sorry I haven't been responsive for some days now, I have been so busy" he apologized, his eyes not leaving me.
I smiled "It's fine, although I thought you ghosted me"
Conri laughed at my words.
"Ghosted you? Why on Earth would I do such a thing?" He asked in between laughter.
I shrug my shoulders at him, "I have no idea, the day I saw you last, you left immediately leaving me to myself and ever since then, you haven't stopped by at the library" I explained and we began to walk together heading towards the library.
" I am sorry about that. Your mate insisted I come and I got so busy with a lot of things now that we all are preparing for the coronation of the alpha alone"
I stopped at my tract, turned around to him, a confused expression glued to my face.
"Alone?"
"Yes Melissa, alone"
"But…" I paused searching for the right words to say, "But I thought we have to be crown together, I had no idea that this will be done separately"
Conri stood next to me, to my Surprise, he wore a different outfit this time, a white shirt and black pants. The boot he wore made him look more like a cow boy and his long black hair rested gracefully on his shoulders.
"No Melissa. The plans changed, the Alpha needs to be crowned immediately due to the problems we are having now…"
"What problems?" I quickly asked to cut him off.
Conri scanned around, there was no one present but us.
"Come on, let's get into the library, someone might be eavesdropping, no one knows about this except from I, your mate and the elders of the pack".
I nodded and we headed straight to the library, heating Conri and referring to Nelson as my mate really pissed me off but there was nothing I could do about it. He is right, Nelson is indeed my mate, there is nothing I can do to change that.
We got into the library, closed the door and sat on our favorite seats, our gaze fixed on each other.
"So what problem?" I asked, breaking the silence.
Conri folded the sleeves of his shirt, "This is very confidential Melissa, no one must hear about this"
I nodded very curiously, "You can trust me on that"
"Alright, glad to hear this. The truth is that some of our guards were attacked deep in the woods and one got kidnapped, so right now, they need to crown Nelson the Alpha so that he can start tackling such situations" Conri revealed, his voice filled with great concern.
"Attacked? But by who? I thought this was the only werewolf pack?" I asked looking up at him, I was so confused to the point that I could feel it greatly.
"No Melissa, there are other werewolf packs present, each pack has its Alpha and Luna. One of our rivals,the hunters pabk,each werewolf in this pank has deep silver eyes but the eyes of their Werewolf is as red as blood. They are very vicious and ready to wage war on us, this is something Nelson is trying to avoid for the safety of the pack so it's best he gets crowned as Alpha immediately" Conri explained softly in a way I can understand better.
As his words boomed on me, the eyes of the werewolf I saw in my dream.the previous night flashed through my mind. It's eyes, as red as blood. Remembering this, I gasped with widened eyes.
"Are you alright Melissa"
I looked up at Conri who stared at me with deep concern.
"I am fine"
"Are you sure?"
I nodded, "Yes I am. I am just taken aback by your words. I don't want any war to strike, I am a human and I don't know how to fight a wolf" I lied but the red eyes buried in my dream didn't get off my head at all.
"Don't worry Melissa, I am sure Nelson will protect you"
To my surprise, I laughed at his words.
"Protect me?" I asked, raising a brow, "Come off it Conri, you and I know that he won't. Your friend hates me, he was never in support in getting married to a human, he made this clear to me and do you think he will let me live if he can see this as the only way to get me out of his life"
Conri gazed at me with a weird expression, his lips stretched into a smile.
"Why are you smiling like that? You look weird" I noted feeling a bit pissed.
He chuckled, "Do you think Nelson hates you to this point?"
I rolled my eyes, "I don't think Conri, I know this so well, he hates me,you know this, I am sure he must have made this clear to you too."
Conri shook his head, "If you think that Nelson hates you this much, why didn't he just leave you to die in the hands of that werewolf who attacked you deep in the woods"
At once, Conri words struck me, the memory of that day came into light. I looked up at him, unable to utter any word. At that minute, it felt like the whole scenario in my head turned upside down.
"Think about this Melissa" Conri continued with his words, "If you think that Nelson hates you, he should have just watched you being torn apart by the werewolf that was ready to have your blood shed. At least, by now, you should be out of his life giving him the privileges he needs. But instead, Nelson chooses to save you and you think the man doesn't care? Come on Melissa, I am sure that you know of this" Conri pointed out, his gaze not leaving me.
Although Conri's words were so convincing, I still chose to totally ignore it.
"Not this time Conri. You should see the angry look in his eyes when he told me how much he never wanted the marriage and today when I was being called in front of the elders"
Conri stared at me in shock, "You were called by the elders?"
"Yes…is anything wrong there, you look so surprised"
"Of course I am, do let me know what you were asked. No doubt, it might be strange to you, I know how it can be. Damn, I have really missed a lot just for these few days" Conri rested on the chair with folded arms, his gaze still not leaving me.
I laughed, "You don't have to apologize again, you already did and I understand. He didn't ask me much, I just told him what i know about the moon goddess, he looked impressed but surprise and when I told him that you put me through, he looked more surprised and I couldn't help but wonder why"
Conri had smiles over his face,"I am so pleased to hear this. To be honest, it's really good to see how well you have changed these past few days. It's normal for the elders to look surprise, I was expecting that because I teaching you all these is no one's work but that of your mate"
"But why?" I was not pleased about it at all.
"I have no idea Melissa, this is the honest truth. It's just a law, nothing else. I guess maybe that's the way the system works, the Alpha putting his Luna through all she needs to know before her coronation. When Anabelle called out to me to help you out, I refused at first but when she assured me that Nelson wouldn't mind because he never agreed to the marriage, I decided to step in and I must say, you are picking up faster than I imagined. I thought it was going to be a difficult task to me but your zeal towards learning this gives me good joy, just don't stop Melissa, you need to prove Nelson how sorry he should be"
I shook my head, my words digesting into me, "I am not doing this to prove anything to Nelson. I just doing this to vindicate myself, nothing else, I don't care what him or other people might think, it's clearly one of my least worries for now"
To my surprise, Conri placed a hand on mine. Feeling his touch, I looked up at him, our eyes locked together.
"After Nelson's Coronation, once you are filled with the knowledge of everything you need to know, you will be made Luna and I know that you will be a great Luna indeed"
I smiled at his comforting words, "Why do you think so?" I asked him to watch so intensively.
"It's obvious, just by looking at you" he smiled at me and continued with his words.
"There should be a reason for all of this and I assure you that when you get to know it, you will appreciate your coming here because I believe that the moon goddess doesn't lie, not at all" he got to his feet with Holes all over his face.
"Do you know what?"
"What?" I Implored gazing at him.
"Let's take a stroll, you will love it" he smiled softly, his hand stretched forward to mine.
I couldn't help but smile, placed my hand on his and got to my feet.
"Is this a part of my lesson?" I asked, filled with smiles.
Conti laughed, "Yes, our lessons won't be just indoors but also outside. This is also your house and you can move around as many times your heart desires. Come on, let's go" with my hands in his, we walked out of the library laughing like best of friends.
