The Next thing, I know I was standing in the middle of a small bakery two blocks away from my aunt's house and I wonder why we came.
I turned around to see the bakers looked like a boy band on a vacation. They acted like it too, laughing, joking, and singing as they made the bread and delicacies for the day. Their white uniforms masked any flour that dusted on them and only their hands had that obvious covering of dust. When the baking was mostly done a couple of them would open the doors, letting the aroma of the baking waft out to the street and the customers flood in.
We finally reached the register where an old man was taking money from the customer.
" Mr, Wards, how are you doing today?" Emily asked him but he didn't even twitch or moved a single muscle on his face he just opened the small gate next to his counter to let us in.
" Come on, Aisling I'll show you around," Emily said and brought me to the back kitchen of the bakery.
" Wait, wait who are the people outside? are they human?" I have asked her.
" What people? I don't see anyone... Oh, it must be Ray... Ray come out right now." she said.
And I lost everything, and I was more confused than a chameleon in a bag of skittles. I see, from the corner of my eye, and found a little boy around 13 or 14 years of age he was standing quietly in the corner and Emily said, " Ray, come here. And meet Aisling... she moved towards him and bent down on one knee... what did I teach you do not use your power until it is a matter of death. Now, go and say sorry to Aisling."
He nodded his head and walked up to me.
" I apologize, for what I did," he said and run from the back door.
" Umm, Emily I didn't get what he did, and what powers you are talking about?"
" Oh, I forgot to tell you, the people you saw outside its just rays illusion... we were interrupted by the same guy who brought my luggage and called me crazy.
" Oh, and this is Benny you have already met him." I glared at him and my gaze leaped from Benny to the same guy like Benny, same eye color, same hair, same face, and same physic. Emily continued, " And this is Benny's twin brother jasper. They can lift a mountain."
I realized that they made the fool of me earlier and I was so dumb that didn't see the difference. They both were smirking and teasing the shit out of me.
" And this is Jager. He is the only intelligent wolf here because he can see the past and the future." Emily pointed her finger to the guy who I have met in the hallway and who knows everything about me, now I know how? he can see past.
" And for my powers... jasper interrupted her and said, " Oh, come on, nobody wants to hear that Emily. We wanna know what power the new girl possesses?"
They all were looking at me like I am going to blow myself up and show them my special power which is none. I don't have anything special I am just a weak wolf who doesn't even know where to go. what purpose do I have? am I ever going to see Azelaic again?
I gasp for air and their eyes were stuck on me and my throat became dry as dessert.
" Come on, new girl don't be shy." jasper added again.
" Hey, guys don't force her. She seems tired and overwhelmed by everything. You guys can go back to your respectable jobs before ma'am come back." Emily said and everyone looks irritated by it and Jasper rolled his eyes.
But they all disappeared one by one and left Emily and me, alone. I looked at Emily with a blank expression.
" What is happening here?"
" I know, I need an explanation to do. We are trainees here."
" Trainees for what?"
" Look, we are the next protector of the Dark Wolves Pack. We each possess a special power or ability but we don't have control over our powers I have but others don't. And your aunt is our mentor. She teaches us how to control our powers and make them useful against the enemy."
" Enemy?"
" Yeah, our enemy The Royal Family Of Silivus. A long, time ago we were under the rule of the royal family but the royals treated our pack unjustly and wanted us to become their slaves and do them all dirty work but the Alpha Harvey found out about their disgusting plan and they killed our alpha by deceiving him. And the war begins Royal family and the dark wolves pack. A lot of bloodshed and slaughtering happened ever since. And it was no way near come to end." She said and which made me think about why such a huge responsibility was given to my aunt.
" But why aunt was given this responsibility?" I asked her. because things don't seem to add up in my mind.
" Because of my father, my father was a commander of the frontier army and was the closest friend of the alpha and when father passed away, your aunt was given this duty as an honorary title," she said.
" But what was all this about?" I pointed toward the bakery on the other side of the wall.
" This is a great disguise for us from the enemies and humans." she winked at me.
