And what if someone finds this place?"
" It never gonna happen because only the pack members are allowed to come here."
" What about humans?" I ask her.
" Like, I said only pack members are allowed here. Come with me I'll show you something." Emily told me and shoved her arm around me and we made our way back into the actual bakery but this time there was no one, not the old man nor the laughing bakers.
I believed now, they have real power but why? Father sent me here. I don't have anything special nor I can learn anything.
I don't understand the reason why?
Emily and I walked out of the double door of the bakery and Emily pointed to a billboard in front of the bakery that reads, " No humans are allowed."
I rolled my eyes and asked her, " Who's brilliant idea was that?"
" Benny and Jasper suggested this. Isn't brilliant," she said with a huge smile on her face.
" I think, it's so a dumb idea to write in big bold letters that humans aren't allowed. This will catch everyone's attention and another reason that this place isn't safe as you telling me."
" Wow, you seriously are a genius Aisling. I am going to write it and suggest this to ma'am," she said and I shrugged.
We went back inside and Emily was showing me their training area which was in the basement.
And I made my way downstairs and saw a large empty hall and voices echoed into the room. I saw, Jasper standing in the middle and he was chit-chatting with Jager who looked uninterested in talking to him. Jasper's eyes leaped towards me and which made me uneasy don't know why?
" Back soon, Emily with your new fellow." He stated.
" Shut up! Jasper be more respectful to her. She is new here and where is ma'am? she should be here by here now. She never is late." Emily said and she seems concerned.
" I don't know where she is at but what I do know is we should do warm up before ma'am came," Jasper suggested.
" No, we are not doing any warm-up. It is against the rules. And in the absence of ma'am. I am in charge here and everyone should follow what I said." Emily quickly responded to him.
A smirk appears on his face while his eyes travel to me and he said, " No one is asking you. Jager, are you down for it?"
" I prefer to watch you," Jager answers him.
Benny and Ray joined the conversation and asked us, what are we talking about?
" Benny, listen to me... You and me one on one fight." Jasper said and Emily just kept telling them that, that's not a great idea and they will get us in trouble.
But no one listens to her as Benny agrees to fight.
I tailed off, not sure how to explain how it just felt right in my gut, even if every rational thought was telling me it is something wrong about to happen… A tingling in my spine warned me the path that lay ahead was dangerous.
And the next thing, I know is the four of us standing outside of the ring circle, and Benny and Jasper were in the middle. They transformed into their wolf form.
The wolves encircled each other, glaring
into each other's dark red eyes and
growling ferociously. The sound rattled
the bones of the surroundings Emily howled and pawed the ground
nervously. My nerves vibrated hard enough to shatter my bones while I composed an elaborate mental fantasy of ripping them in half. Anything to stop this.
Jasper's eyes never leave me which made me extremely fearful of myself. A soft growl came from somewhere deep in his chest cavity, the manifestation of a predator mesmerized by his prey.
" Emily, I think we should leave right now. I am not feeling good about it."
" I also don't feel good but I just can't leave them. It is my responsibility to keep everyone safe," she responded.
I realized she was afraid of jasper, and completely and utterly terrified of him. I gazed back at him, my mouth open, gasping for air. My rose and fell with each panting breath.
" Okay, I am leaving then. You stay here." I told Emily and decided to leave because I don't think it was safe for me to stay.
