I squeezed my eyes shut because the amount of light spreading inside the room was too much to bear for my eyes. A few seconds passed, and Emily tapped on my shoulder to open my eyes as I opened my eyes I was left speechless to see my wounds completely healed, and not even a scar was visible on my knee.
" How did you do that? I can't believe my eyes, is this real or an illusion?" I asked her and hesitantly touched my knee and find it wasn't an illusion. It was real. I looked up at Emily and she was grinning by looking at me.
" No, it's not an illusion trust me. And well, as you can see I can heal things not everything exactly but the living being or living things such as plants, animals, and sometimes wolves," she said.
" You mean to say, you are a healer. And this is your special ability."
" Yup, you are right,"
" Wow, you all are so cool and I am not that special like you guys. I wish, I could be like you guys so I don't need to be afraid all the time and I can protect myself from danger."
Emily sat down on the bed next to me and said, " You must be joking right? you have a thing that none of us have and that makes you special."
" I don't have anything instead, I lack everything that everyone had since they are born. I was born with a weak wolf spirit and my wolf doesn't even listen to me." I answered her.
" Well, that's what makes you so special because despite knowing you are weak you still took risks and went against your family and your pack. You were determined to do something like that even though you knew the outcomes of it but you still went with it because you have a strong will. And none of us have that." she said and she thinks I went against everyone because I have strong but she didn't know it was azelaic and his love that made me do the impossible. It was he, who pushed me to think about us. Only us. I am so grateful to him that he went against everyone for only me but then the other question comes into my head why he left me alone? I need this answer from him and I will get that.
" Oh, I just forget to tell you. Ma'am is calling everyone to be present in the living room." Emily said and brought me back from my thoughts and I nodded.
" I am going to notify Ray. And be there in 5 minutes," she added and made her way out of the room, leaving me alone.
I got up and placed the first-Aid box in the drawer and went out of the room and Jasper and I, leave our room at the same time.
And I can see, he looks uneasy when he saw me and I don't know why he is acting like that. I want to talk to him but at the same time, I don't want to get him and me in trouble. And as I begin to walk down the stairs I found myself stopping by him. He blocked my way with his silhouette.
" What are you doing?"
" Don't be afraid! I am not hurting you. I just want to talk to you.”
" Talk? talk about what? I don't think you should talk to me because if your brother saw us talking he would accuse me of something which I didn't do." I replied to him and he doesn't look happy with my answer.
" I don't care what everyone says or thinks about you but I just want to make things clear and tell you everything because I just can't stay like that." He said in a serious tone which made me extremely worried.
" What was it?"
" I can't tell you here, this isn't a safe place for us to speak."
" Then, where you wanna speak?"
He thought for a second and said, " In the attic."
" Oh, no I am not going with you inside the attic."
" Please, I promise to you, Aisling. I am not going to hurt you." He made a promise to not hurt me but I don't know whether I should trust him or not but he gave me a reason to not trust but my gut was telling me to give him another chance.
" Okay, I am giving you a chance but don't forget your promise," I said to him.
" Swear to God, I would not do that again," he assured me and he pulled the string to the attic. As the ladder crashed down I felt something on my face, I looked up and saw THE LARGEST SPIDER CRAWLING ON MY FACE!! I freaked out and slapped it off my face.
" Are you okay?" He asks me.
" Yeah, spiders just freak me out but I am good," I answer.
He gingerly climbed the ladder that led to the attic. I was behind him and balanced on the top rung of the ladder as he flung open the trap door. The door crashed against the dirt-blackened floorboards loudly. The musty smell hit me, as a flurry of dust cascaded onto my head. I carefully levered myself up onto the floor above me.
I looked around the peculiar room to see beckoning shadows on the walls, as evening light tried to filter through a worn curtain, which graced the solitary window in the room. I stumbled forwards in the half-light, my outstretched hands grabbing a low beam to steady myself. The wood felt gritty and cold beneath my fingers and I looked at my hands, which were now blanketed in grime.
I walked carefully to the end of the large attic room and drew back the faded red velvet curtain, which stretched across the tiny window. The light violated the darkness and dispelled the gloom
